For years I have LOVED Grandaisy Bakery. Their Cavolfiore flatbread (cauliflower with cheese and light breadcrumbs) is my favorite. So much so that I ventured downtown from West 71st St (they once resided on West 72nd) to have a slice...or two! It did not disappoint, still delicious and worth the trip. The breads are fabulous and pastries not to be forgotten. If you want a yummy sandwich, Grandaisy can fill your tummy! read more

I tried the potato and funghi slices of Grandaisy Bakery's Roman-styled pizza and was pleasantly surprised to find how good they were. The former was especially a standout; the thinly sliced crispy potato was amazing. The combination of the potato with the onion and rosemary on super thin flatbread was perfection. This was a surprise hit for me; it was even better than the mushroom pizza, which I tend to love. Besides cremini mushrooms, the thyme and sea salt were subtle and yet added so much delicious flavor. The flatbread pizza and fresh flavor combinations are just expertly done here. read more

Good sandwich selection. Pizza flat bread is delicious. I can eat too many of those. Coffee is fine. Shortbread cookies are excellent and a good gift. If you are in Tribeca this is definitely worth a stop. Staff is pretty "meh" the few times I've been there. read more

The current 3.5 star rating for Grand Daisy Bakery is the biggest travesty of justice I've seen on Yelp. Grand Daisy is the best bakery. Period. To recap: - Pizza bianca, the best focaccia style of bread I have eaten. The olive oil, flake salt, and rosemary are in perfect harmony. - Roman pizza, I like them all with the potato being my favorite hands down, followed by the fungi. I would order a slice of both for lunch. - I have had several of different types of their loafs of bread and they are all good and extremely affordable. - Sandwiches, the il caprese (seasonally in summer) is pure heaven, all the ingredients are so fresh. In New York you can usually get quality or value with food. It is rare to find both qualities united in one place. read more

Really great bread, fantastic sandwiches, especially their breakfast egg and asparagus and lunch Mediterranean feta! The Yelp app was glitching though and told me the order would take over an hour to prepare when it was actually ready in minutes, so next time will order on a different app! read more

Just paid $11 for a coffee cause their espresso was so weak i had to add shots and boy did they charge me for it. And it's still bad.

The nicest staff. I miss the UWS location which closed several years ago so it was nice to visit the Tribeca location. The baked goods are incredible and the coffee drinks are great. They are one of the only cafes/bakeries in NYC that carries Dammann Freres teas. read more

Their cauliflower flatbread and zucchini flatbreads are among my favorite bites in nyc (and I don't eve like cauliflower usually!) It's just the right amount of salt and gruyère cheese with a thin crispy crust - super addictive. Love their mushroom one too. so delicious and special/unique! read more

It's a crime that this place isn't better known. I've been eating their Rome-style pizza for more than 22 years and it's still as good today as it was decades ago. Consistently delicious staples (potato, marinara, mushroom) as well as seasonal flavors that come and go (zucchini, cauliflower, squash, etc). This place is a treasure and more folks need to experience it. read more

Food (4/5): Ordered a chai tea latte which was solid. A bit pricey and not too big but still good. Service (5/5): The person taking my order was nice and friendly. The order came out fast and efficiently. Ambiance (3/5): Cozy and cute coffee shop vibe. It's a bit small inside but there is decent outside seating. The chairs are a bit uncomfortable but still ok overall. read more

Friendly counter staff at neighborhood bakery with coffee. Recommend multi-grain and any sourdough breads, plus cheese-less pizza (think flatbread with various toppings). But all their breads are great--including walnut raisin and olive loaf. Local fire houses (ghost busters and Greenwich Village) stop for their bread (or sandwiches) here. read more

So sorry to say, as a very long-time patron of Grandaisy, the last two times I have been there, their usual excellent quality of baked goods and service took a very deep nosedive to unacceptable in every way. The Tribeca location was never sleek. It always has a tired look to it but it's acceptable given the care of their menu of excellent pastries to 'pizza' slices. But suddenly (at least to me) they have descended into apathy and neglect: the 'pizza' slices I had were flat out stale. They never should have been sold to anyone. In the past, I believe they never would have been sold to anyone. Even the lumacas I bought were not what they have always been, again, they should have been pulled from the shelf. The apathetic and distracted counter people made both visits regrettable. They were talking amongst themselves as if, we, the people in line were some kind of disruption to their 'hang-out.' Not surprisingly they were disorganized, having no handle on who was next to order, whose order was idling on the point of sale device, why it was idling, who was waiting for the pizza in the oven and where did so-and-so go. This so-and-so will go elsewhere. The alternative 'pizza' bakery I also frequent has not lost a single step in their baked goods or the way the staff operates the counter. They are a joy to visit. Grandaisy is a drag. read more

Love this place, service is nice and friendly. I recommend the bread pudding- no frills- dense like the old fashioned ones moms used to make, with just the right amount of sweetness. I also like their potato flatbread- delicious! I must say prices are reasonable considering they're located in Tribeca. read more

Hmm.. I am confused by the reviews. Yes location is great. Love the quiet spot in the hubbub city noise. But there was fruit flies early morning at 7 AM and didn't see fruits inside. Anyways we ordered: Double shot espresso- not too creamy, not good Caramel latte- even with non fat milk too sweet Chocolate croissant- it was so cold, so definitely not fresh. How can it be cold and hard 7AM in the morning. So not worth it. Can't be warmed also!!!! The staff was so rude early morning. We were so sad when Grandaisy left the UWS a few years ago, so of course we were overjoyed to remember the downtown location on one of those Sundays when we just didn't know what to nosh on. Our beloved pizzas were just as delicious as we remembered. The toppings are golden on the outside and soft on the inside. There's a perfectly salty goodness balanced by the occasional fresh herb. Crust is perfectly crisp and never stiff or soggy-floppy (the two cardinal sins of pizza crust). Although I have found similarly tasty pizzas at an establishment more conveniently located to me on 47th between 10th and 11th, Grandaisy will always be near and dear to my heart, and I'll gladly make the occasional pilgrimage. read more

This review is for their pizza, mostly their cauliflower slice which is one of the best dishes in NYC. This is destination-worthy for NYers and worth a visit for tourists, though the location is not great. Caveat: Rest of the menu has never been worth it. read more

The iced coffee is good; the staff is lovely however; the shop is legitimately over 100 degrees. It is 90 in nyc today, and i walked into the store and almost passed out. Now, i have worked in service, and i understand that things happen and the show must go on. When i asked how long, expecting a couple of days... maybe a week? I was told YEARS. I am writing this review only to say to the owners that they should really be ashamed of having their staff work throughout the summer in truly sweltering conditions. As someone who does hot yoga, many of the studios i go to are *less hot than this establishment*. I sincerely hope that that those in charge will take this seriously and take better care of the lovely people who are working for them. read more

Efficient. Two people in line in front of me, and I was being served within 2 minutes. I do wish they had some type of menu, because it's a little tight to read what's in the sandwiches, while someone else is paying. I picked up one of the turkey and arugula sandwiches, and a flourless chocolate muffin. The sandwich was "right sized" in saying it wasn't generous in portion, putting the $9.50 price tag as just a tad expensive, but I know people gotta pay the bills. The sandwich was very good. The flourless chocolate muffin was exceptional. The staff were helpful and very friendly. A couple small tables and a bench for outside seating. Overall, a very nice little spot. read more

I'm typically not a fan of sandwiches but the turkey avocado ciabatta blew it away. The bread was fresh, soft and chewy, good chewy. Literally was having a bad day and the ciabatta made my day. Definitely my jam. Highly recommend. read more

Randomly decided to stop by this bakery because we saw that they had a few catering trucks so it must be good? Glad we did. We wanted a simple snack as we were planning to walk around. This bakery was near our bus stop from Philly. Just got an almond croissant and it was made well! A bit too much powdered sugar on the outside but it ended up not being too sweet. Good almond paste inside. They also have a selection of flat breads and a few other pastries. Some seating and standing tables in bakery. Nice staff. read more

Review for a pickup! Ordered my breakfast before work and it was ready for pickup extremely fast. The line was a tad long but I realized later I shouldn't have waited in line but picked it up at the small window per directions I ordered a latte and a Zucca flat bread. The latte was good and so was the Zucca flat bread. The Zucca flat bread had the perfect hint of sweet from the sweet potato and the bread was the perfect crispy but they could prolly go a little easy on the oil in the flat bread. It was a tad greasy and napkins weren't included with my order. read more

3.5 stars. I grabbed a slice of cauliflower pizza to hold off the hunger pains. Staff was not super helpful and the pizza slice was kind of pricey, but it did taste pretty good. Roman pizza isn't easy to find in NY. There's only a few places that do it outright, let alone right. One happens to be my office, so I decided to check out Grandaisy. Slices here are served cold which can be off putting but is typical for bakeries who make this kind of pizza. There were ~6 options of which all were veggie-heavy. Price was reasonable and while the pizza wasn't fresh out of the oven, it was sliced fresh. The tomato slice was slather in a heavy tomato paste. It was alright but very one-note in terms of flavor. It was better at first but I grew tired of it by the time I finished. The butternut squash slice was much better. The gouda, onions, breadcrumbs and sage lent a more complex and enjoyable flavor profile. The crust here was much better on a corner slice; it had a nice, bready character to it that was lot with the tomato slice. The main downside were the large pieces of sage which were overkill and prevented this from being as good as it could've been. For ~$7 for 2 slices, you can do much worse in this area. I'd come back for the butternut squash slice but wouldn't get the tomato slice again. Guess they had so many veggie slices for a reason! read more
