Loved this place! I came here twice on my trip because of the quality and proximity to my hotel. I tried an onion bagel with garlic herb cream cheese and a cinnamon raisin bagel with cinnamon roll cream cheese. Both were fresh, high quality and came with an amazing amount of cream cheese. This place is convenient to my walk from the subway to work, so I stop in semi-regularly for breakfast. I think this place is a mixed bag. They're relatively quick, which is great for stopping in before work (and significantly faster than Murray's). Their bagels are cheaper than Murray's. But, I don't love that every time I get a bagel I ask for very, very little butter, and most of the time the bagel is just soaking in butter when I open it. I really should start pulling the bagel out while I'm still there. Also I got oatmeal today, which is huge because for some reason their small is 16 oz. and they won't sell it in the smaller size cup they have. And it's crazy watery. I won't get it again. I also got a ham and cheese sandwich from them one time and I was pretty underwhelmed for the price. Bagel Pub was my latest stop on my bagel tour of NYC. I had heard particularly good things about this spot's wide-ranging selection of cream cheeses and definitely wasn't disappointed: there were indeed a ton of options, and unique ones at that. I tried an everything bagel with za'atar cream cheese and avocado. The cream cheese was super creamy and fresh, but the zaatar was on the salty side, and I thought they could've added more avocado. The cream cheese flavor might've worked better with more of a BEC-style sandwich where there's more going on in general. The bagel itself was my favorite part of the sandwich. It was pillowy soft, a little sweet, warm thanks to a light toast, and had a nice amount of "everything" toppings. The outside was crunchy and the toppings slightly charred, but the inside wasn't overdone. I visited mid-day on a Friday in December and was able to order immediately. There was a decent amount of seating and I was easily able to grab a counter spot. read more

We wanted to get our NYC bagel fix in, and stumbled upon this spot on the way to get some NYC pizza. It's got a casual pub vibe to it, as the name suggests. They have some quirky bagel art on the walls as well. When we came up to the display counter to order, we were impressed with the vast and colorful selection of spreads and fillings. However, on this visit, we wanted to simply try out an everyday bagel and a lox bagel. So, we ordered an everything bagel with butter and a garlic bagel with lox cream cheese. Both of them were delicious. The bagel textures were soft and slightly chewy. The lox cream cheese had a beautiful smoked salmon flavor, both in the cream cheese itself and from the pieces of smoked salmon throughout the spread. The everything bagel was also delicious with just butter and everything bagel seasoning on it. With such a wide variety of flavored spreads and fillings, we will be back again when we visit NYC. This was our favorite breakfast stop during our most recent trip to NYC. The bagels were fresh, the cream cheese was delicious, and the coffee was perfection. If you're not a fan of lots of cream cheese on your bagel, make sure to ask for half the regular amount because it's a LOT. The line moves quickly and the service was good. There's plenty of seating available at tables or there is a high top bar with stools along one side. The bathroom is clean and you just need to get the door code from the cashier. They have a variety of bagels and even more cream cheese and sandwich options to meet everyone's needs. Another plus is that this location has a spacious seating area inside, especially for a bagel shop. I had the Plain Bagel with Lox Spread ($7.31). The lox spread was good, but the bagel itself was average and didn't compare to some of the others in the city. This is my favorite bagel spot in West Village. They have cream cheese of every flavor - I ordered one with the tofu vegetable and ordered a lox sandwich with an everything wheat bagel. I never knew that there was such a combo! I had half a sandwich for lunch, and the other half for dinner. My sandwich included onions, tomatoes, and cucumbers with smoked salmon. I first discovered the Bagel Pub chain of eateries when I stumbled onto their Park Slope location. While walking through the Village I saw the familiar sign and was thrilled to check out a new location! I have no idea what one of the previous reviewers means by "outdated and needs a remodel". This place literally just opened this month and the interior features a classic style featuring beautiful wood, ceiling fans and some cheeky artwork featuring bagels. If you're familiar with the decor of their Park Slope location, then you know what to expect here (just more seating). As you do in the Park Slope location, you go to the counter and there's a person there with a paper pad taking orders. You then go down to the cashier to pay and/or order drinks. It's very quick and orderly and the staff is great about answering questions. On this particular visit I ordered a Cold Brew coffee (black) and a toasted Sesame Seed Bagel with Whitefish salad. There were plenty of tables to sit at, but since I was flying solo I chose to sit at a bar that was across from the counter where you order (separated by a small partition). There, I hungrily dug into my food. The bagels at Bagel Pub are unique, featuring a nice, crisp outer shell with a very soft and chewy interior. They're not quite as thick in texture as your typical NYC bodega bagel. I love the texture and man the flavor was on point. The smokiness of the sesame seeds, the saltiness of the whitefish salad all meshed together perfectly. The Cold Brew was good (not the best ever, but it will do to go with the meal). I did use the bathroom during my visit and it was clean and well kept BUT the hot water handle was broken, which is not a great look for a brand new business. I hope they get that fixed soon (and no, this still doesn't qualify it as run down in any way). I definitely recommend checking out Bagel Pub. It's awesome! read more

Bagels are great and they have a huge variety of homemade cream cheeses. I highly recommend either the chipotle cream cheese or vegetable tuna (latter has black olives). I actually changed my review to 1 star bc the business was acting snooty. I gave bagel pub RAVE reviews. I gave this location a 5 star review. And then whoever handles their Google marketing thought it would be cute to gaslight me. my only point of contention - which wasn't even really anything that should be noteworthy - was that i was nervous about getting bagels from a chain restaurant. they then retorted that they're a mom & pop. i've seen two locations in the vicinity i walk on a day to day basis - one on university and one on 6th. I assumed there were other locations too so I said it was a chain. Even with saying that i PRAISED the bagels; experience, everything but the business thought it was necessary to call me out and - quite frankly - provide false info. You have two confirmed brick & mortar stores minimum. You have an entire "locations" tab on your website. You are not a small mom & pop. This is a "what not to do in marketing" 101. You had a 5 star rave review, but you had to be petty. this is how to go from a 5 star rating to a 1 star rating. don't correct a customer when you're wrong. maybe you're a franchise. or your organization has sketchy operations but there are multiple bagel pub locations. do a google maps search. look at the attached photo. THERE ARE MULTIPLE LOCATIONS AKA A CHAIN. if you really want to lose a lifelong customer & brand advocate to "prove a point" you should not be in marketing. read more

I'm not from NY, and I was on the hunt for the best bagel in the city while in town this weekend. We tried another place- it was good, but not blow me away good. This place blew me away. It was a taste sensation! Also the cutest ambiance. Line was long but moved fast and decent seating for a small party. This lox bagel was lights out! We also had a black & white cookie which was soooo epic. I didn't even get a picture because we ate it so fast. Great coffee as well.
