This pathetic place literally changes their price despite what is on the menu right behind them. How are you charging somebody for the price of scallion tofu when they ordered plain tofu and they paid less THE DAY BEFORE? Then when I repeatedly am SHOWING them on the menu their price is false, the pathetic cashier is trying to gaslight me and says "yeah that's the price for the plain tofu." I've made a formal complaint about this establishment to the city for price gouging and ripping off customers, and hopefully a full investigation and serious accountability will be put on them because I'm sure I'm not the only one they've done this too. The staff is friendly. I love the decor. A whimsical wall of bagels and they have a very beautiful back yard that's not visible from the front, you'd have to go near the back tables/bathroom to discover it. We had breakfast here during our visit over Labor Day weekend. The restaurant has a very impressive appearance, but the impression stopped there for me. The customer service was not friendly or accommodating, the bagel was cold as if it had been refrigerated. The omelette was overcooked and home-fries were so oily they couldn't be eaten. The organic ones were actually nice and crisp when I took it home to toast them. The mango cranberry cream cheese is way over priced I think. I appreciate that there is quite a bit of indoor seating available and there is a clean restroom in the back too. Their bagels are big, the hubs and I were able to share one and were very full. As far as consistency, these bagels have a nice outer layer but the middle is on the tougher side. It would be nice if they were a bit softer. As far as flavor, they were OK. There are definitely better bagels around NY, but this place is conveniently located in East Village.
