I came here to order a pair of prescription glasses and safety glasses for work. The optometrist was amazing and got my vision better than it was on my last glasses. When picking out the glasses, my wife and I got the pleasure of being assisted by Shannon. She was very friendly, knowledgeable and gave us a lot of good information on our frames and lens upgrades that were available. Our glasses were in within a week, and we could not be happier. Fast forward a few months - I broke my safety glasses at work. The nose piece fell off and I lost it. I went back to Visionworks and once again was assisted by Shannon. She went above and beyond to see if there was an onsite remedy to fix them. Unfortunately, there was not and she was able to get a replacement pair ordered and were in store in 05 days. Had to have an adjustment about Lenscrafter's rookies could not adjust my glasses. After they were done, I could not even read street signs. Today I went to the Visionworks by Lowes and a wonderful person named Shannon spent the time to adjust my glasses so I can see again. My visit was the best I've had at visionworks! Shannon really made sure I was taken care of, shared excellent information on the types of frames that would best suit me and my lifestyle, and multi-tasked very efficiently to make sure everyone was taken care of and didn't feel ignored. Her bubbly personality really made the whole experience a whole lot better even though I just came in for a routine appointment. Definitely would recommend coming to this specific location for the customer experience. The Doctor I met with also listened thoroughly to my concerns and did his best to address my specific issues without feeling as though my problems were being dismissed. 10/10 experience. read more

Had appointments for this location and they were really busy and delayed for my time. The folks who work with you for insurance and appointments with the optometrists were great, but I felt like the optometrists themselves were trying to get you in and out as fast as possible. My initial contact prescription didn't end up working well for me and I had to go back in to tweak to the contacts twice to get a prescription that felt workable. Just recently tried to order more contacts of the working prescription and they were really rude on the phone for a simple contact re-order. Would unfortunately recommend AVOIDING this location. read more

I went to this location for my annual exam on 7/22/25. I saw the doctor who was great! Then I came to pick out my glasses, get an explanation of my insurance, etc. I waited for approx 20 min (there one only one other customer in the store), and no one even acknowledged me. The girl who took my "file" told me my insurance wouldn't cover materials, which was NOT the case. I have tried calling MANY times since, I get put on hold infinitely, every time. I need to be seen again, as my right eye prescription is a bit off. I was told to go in and I could possibly be seen same day by another location, who actually answers their phone! read more

First of all, I came here many months ago with an appointment and waited over an hour and a half to be seen past my appointment time (I got over it)... a few months later, I'm needing a copy of my prescription since I moved more than three hours away from where I was living (close by this location) so I call them and they refuse to email me a copy of my own prescription. The manager here claimed their email physically will not allow them to send me a copy because it will block the email. I don't understand this at all because I've had a copy emailed to me before so I'm so confused as to why I cannot have access to my own prescription. I don't have a VisionWorks near me anymore, so the fact that they cannot email me a copy of my own prescription from my own two eyeballs is absolutely absurd. Maybe there needs to be an improvement where they can send emails to their own patients because it's absolutely ridiculous that anyone should have to drive hours away to get to a location near them and have to go physically in the store, JUST to have a copy printed for them, WHEN ITS ALREADY IN THE SYSTEM! It is not rocket science. It's 2025. There is no portal to access or anything. Nobody has time to do any of this. Never ever EVER again will I use Visionworks. Go somewhere else. read more

I don't usually write reviews but this specific interaction really left a bad taste in my mouth. Today I went into this specific Visionworks to get the nose pads on my glasses adjusted as one was digging into my face a little bit. At first the interaction was super pleasant and the associate and I were making good conversation. Let me preface this and say I have "asian nose" and so I essentially don't have a nose bridge. The associate then proceeded to absolutely MUTILATE the metal that connected to the nose pads and bring them so FAR OUT off my face and this was a first. I've gotten my nose pads adjusted by a multitude of opticians and no one has ever pulled them out this far. Tell me why my nose pads were doing a 90 degree angle on my face and were literally SIDEWAYS. I gave constructive criticism and suggested that maybe we attempt to put them back to the original position. Verbatim, she states "I don't even know where they were originally". She then says to me "This really isn't even something that's fixable you should've really tried the frames on before buying them online". First and foremost, I did try these glasses on in store before I purchased them it was the very same establishment who told me I couldn't get these frames because Ray-Ban doesn't support my prescription, completely fine I get it! But for you to absolutely mutilate the most crucial part of the glasses and then BLAME ME for picking these glasses because YOU couldn't figure out how to adjust them properly? Yeah I'd rate this place a 0/5 if I could. The Lenscrafters right across the street saw the damage you did to my glasses and didn't even want to ATTEMPT to touch them in fear that they would literally snap. There are literal scrape marks from where you took metal and ruined the integrity of the shape. Senior Optical Tech? yeah right thanks for ruining a pair of $400 glasses that now I have to pay out of pocket to replace! Go at your own risk! They purposely do not hand your rx to you when you get your exam so that you can't leave. More people are coming and there's no sense of urgency with the staff. Would give this place zero stars if I could. If you need a prescription for contacts on the same day, don't go here. I am 31 and have used the same prescription and brand of contacts since I was a teenager. Doctor refused to give me my contact prescription at my exam visit even though he confirmed it had not changed and my eyes were healthy. They required I wait a week for them to get trials contacts in and then come back a 3rd time after another week to see if they "fit well". Doctor said that even if I had worn the contacts to the appointment they would still have me wait a week and have a follow-up appointment to make sure that there weren't any issues. When I stated there weren't any issues for the last 15+ years, he told me I wasn't an optometrist. Promptly visited lens.com and got my contact prescription within 10 minutes and $15. read more

Been coming to visit works for years. Either here in and Arizona or back in Va. Every business location is consistent. I just love the one here in AZ because the sales people aren't too pushy like I'm used to. The doctor I saw was nice. She's new and I'm glad coz I wasn't a fan of the one I saw last year. Felt pressured to do some exams I didn't want to do so it was refreshing to see a new doctor. The front desk was ok. They were nice and prompt. We didn't really have to wait long for our appointment which is always a plus. Now that there's a new doctor, I will def come back next year read more

Seemed like the doctor gave a basic prescription bc I had voiced I've been here far too long as I too have a job to get to. *UPDATE* 1/2/2019 - I went into this location today to discuss the issues that have been going on and found that they have revamped the staff, new front desk staff, new doctors and new general manager. He was so nice and very helpful. Got me in a new frame today at no extra cost and sat down with me and the doctor to get my contact prescription corrected and trial lenses ordered. I was very happy with their attentiveness and helping get this corrected. Best move vision works could have done was to bring in a whole new staff that actually cares about the customers. Thank you! 7/28/1018 Worst customer service I have ever received. My glasses that I paid over $300 for crumbled apart within two months. No help whatsoever from the store. It took 2-3 months to get my contact lens trial in. Only to try to order contacts and see that the sphere the doctor prescribed my contacts for doesn't exist in this brand. My contact lens RX is written incorrectly. I was told I had a retinal detachment by the doctor who performed my eye exam when doing the optomap. Spent time and money going to a retinal specialist just to find out that I didn't have a retinal detachment at all. Avoid this place at all costs. I have never been so disappointed With services I have received anywhere! I have called multiple times only to be put on hold for over ten minutes with nobody ever coming back to the phone. read more

We have been going to Visionworks once a year for about 4 years. We both see specialists (opthomalogists) yearly; then we go to Visionworks for our eye prescriptions and glasses. We like the Visionworks optometrist very much- she is friendly, knowledgeable, to-the-point, and explains things thoroughly. We then see Zehra who helps us choose our frames and plan what options we need in our glasses. We LOVE Zehra! (In fact, we make sure she will be working before we agree to an appointment day and time) She's very friendly, helpful, and really knows what she is doing. She has a great sense of which frames look good on you, and often finds frames to try that I overlooked. When our glasses come in, she makes sure they fit correctly and have no defects. Our eye insurance accepts Visioncare, as do many others. We will be back! read more

I came here for my annual eye exam having never been to a Visionworks before. Although I loved my eye doctor, I was not a fan of the other associates in the store. Before my actual exam, I took the preliminary tests with a young lady who was getting upset with me because I kept flinching during the puffer test. I found her to be very rude and lacking empathy. After my eye exam with Dr. Trinh was over I picked out my glasses. I really felt the sales pressure at this point. I wish they would leave you alone to pick out glasses and then just ring everything up. Even with insurance, it cost me over $300 for the exam and two pairs of glasses. Although Dr. Trinh was great, I probably won't return to this location. read more

They suck! I have never been to an optometrist who refused to provide my prescription via email or fax. I now live 45+ minutes away and refuse to drive all the way over to get something just for my records. Plus, how are you holding my prescription hostage? I stopped in to Visionworks to try to order some replacement lenses for my sunglasses. The folks there were so helpful. Although they couldn't order the lenses for me, they told me how to, and offered to install them once I received them. I returned with the lenses and they installed them for me gratis and it took less than 5 minutes. That is service!! Andrea and Sonia are the best!! read more

the younger girls that checked me in were AMAZING! so friendly. then the bald man with the ipad that did the first pre exam was rude! horrible service. he brought me into the room where i waited for the doctor for 45 minutes! my appointment was at 3 and i didn't get in with the doctor until 4:30. it wasn't busy either! i've had countless appointments at other places and been out in 20-30 minutes with WAY better service. i will never be back here. i waited an hour and a half for a 10 minute service from the doctor. the doctor was nice and apologized for the wait, but that doesn't make it acceptable. this is a visionworks not a disneyland ride. Fidlin though, finished me up at the desk and he was SO nice. probably the only part of this experience i enjoyed! read more

Visionworks lost my business for good. Called to make appointments for my family of five. I called the Surprise location and made appts for four, 5 weeks in advance because of COVID-19. Got our text messages and emails saying we are signed up and verified appts. Even filled out online forms sent by emails. We walk in 30 minutes early for our appts and they had no record of the appts. We showed them the emails and were told that it was a 3rd party company and they had no record. We have also been here many times in the past where the ladies up front were having conversations about how much money they make by charging for all the extras on their glasses. This is horrible service and realize we are just a dollar sign in their eyes. I have also had my glasses ripped off my face when having them adjusted by the techs. Goodbye and good riddance. No one lets you know when your glasses are ready. No one answers the phone. You have to go online or scan the code on your receipt in order to find out your glasses are ready for pickup. If my insurance didn't pick up part of the expense I never would have shopped here. read more

The eye doctor was great, he took the time to explain anything I had a question about, and was very pleasant. Also, his breath wasn't offense, that's a big plus in my book. However, the one thing I didn't like was although I was told about the so called sale, after everything was totaled up, it was at least twice the amount I thought I was going to spend. Now I really wanted these glasses, after all they are going to be sitting on my beautiful face all day and night. So I ended up squeezing blood from the turnip to pay for the damn over priced frames and the special digital lenses so that it will block out glare as well as help with my being near sighted. Oh, and I have good insurance. Go if you want to, but, beware of the illusion. read more

I first had an eye exam with a professional, friendly doctor who took the time to explain exactly what my tests showed. After that, 2 different people took a great deal of time to help me find the glasses that I eventually bought. The manager Jeanne and Melina were patient, thorough and professional.
