While she was starting the exam I asked "are you the doctor" she said "yes" I was a bit taken aback. She didnt ask me why I was there, didn't ask if I was in for anything in particular and didn't even introduce herself. She finished and literally sent me to the waiting room. Didn't go over results, didn't tell me if my prescription had changed ... didn't ask me about my needs. Which until this moment I forgot I wanted to talk to her about allergies and eye drops. Another gal called me back to the lobby. She just went right into what my insurance covered and that was it. I had to ask her opinion on the frames I chose, I had to ask her what I was being charged for as they were insanely expensive ... not what the commercials advertise at all. Again, I had to say to her "can you help me find a frame that will work with this prescription" I ended up buying one pair from them and bringing the prescription to Costco up the street where I had incredible one on one attention and bought two other pairs for the price of their one

The village eye care had different machines to test our eyes that we have never used before (I've had glasses for 8 years now; so that 8 years of eye exams and we left this place with so much more knowledge about eye health and care) We loved how they took time with the eye exam and then trying on different lens prescriptions to see what was most comfortable was the best part. Last year I had an eye exam somewhere else and I left with glasses that were unwearable because they were too strong. (I had the worst headaches) So this year we switched to The Village Eye care and we could not be happier. I went in for a contact lens exam and was charged a contact lens evaluation fee, which felt completely unjustified because Holt didn't actually evaluate anything. After paying the exam copay, evaluation fee, and refraction fee, I noticed the prescription they gave me was only changed by 0.5 from my previous prescription. What bothered me most was that Holt never mentioned the prescription change, never explained why it was changed, and never offered trial lenses or asked me to test the new power to see if it worked better. None of that happened. When I got home and noticed the change, I called the office. They told me that if Holt didn't discuss it during the appointment, I would need to schedule another appointment just to ask about it. That's completely unacceptable. We were charged extra for services they claimed to provide but clearly did not. I would not recommend going there. If you do decide to make an appointment, call ahead and ask for a full breakdown of every possible charge, otherwise they'll hit you with unexpected fees.

The owners were incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and welcoming, making the entire experience relaxed and enjoyable. Let…read moreme start off by saying, in my opinion, the sheer volume of patients at this location you felt like a number. The way the front desk was set up, the staff clearly were irritated at the slightest question coming their way which made me feel horrible for the elderly patients they heavily rely on. You are quickly shifted from room to room being escorted from unhappy staff member to the next. When I questioned why I needed a certain procedure done, I was greeted with a curt response from the assistant which proceeded throughout the appointment. My visit with the doctor was subpar, as she mentioned there was "nothing there" when I had a bump the size of the moon in the middle of my eye. Cool.. I was sent home with drops and the same antibiotics I received from urgent care. Let's just say, she was gravely wrong and my condition was not taken seriously in my opinion. They failed to give me results of a full eye exam, never mentioned any changes in my prescription, and when I had to retrieve records that were supposed to be uploaded in the portal to see a different doctors office, they were no where to be found. When I contacted the office manager about this, and informed her I shouldn't have been charged for a full exam without a physician follow up, she proceeded to read off my prescription with no medical background to do so, then proceeded to tell me "you're not paying for it" insurance is. Hummm.. I'm sure the insurance companies would be happy to learn about that. Avoid this location at all costs! My experience was horrible and people deserve better treatment.
