My husband and I walked into this location and had a wonderful experience! The store closes at 7 and we arrived approximately 30 minutes before closing (sorry!) however we were welcome by such a friendly face! Lauren was super helpful, nice, and funny we didn't feel rushed at all and had great conversations with her! She was very knowledgeable and gave great recommendations! After a bad experience we endured at another establishment Lauren made it feel like a blessing in disguise. It is sad how this establishment went downhill. I wonder where the 5-star ratings are coming from. I have been a Visionworks Rosedale customer for over 10 years, but I finally called it quits a week ago. Visionworks used to be great but downhill after COVID. They used to have optometrists who actually performed in-office visits but, the company started Vision-link (virtual visits) during the pandemic and the optometrist were never returned in office. I stuck around out of loyalty, even though the equipment was often broken, service was slow, and employees came and went like a revolving door. I wonder why. The last straw? Well, I made an appointment for 3 weeks ago. On arrival, I was told that their equipment was down and had just restarted, that and it would be an 40-minute wait. I said, no problem and stuck around. About 3 people were ahead of me who have not been seen. I waited for an hour and half and decided to reschedule. The next available appointment was in 2 weeks. I said no problem, I would reschedule my other appointments. On the appointment day, due to an accident, I was 8 mins late. Immediately I arrived, the lady at the desk said, "we can't see you today, we have a 5-minute grace period". I apologized for being late and begged to be fit in. After all, there is still one person waiting to be seen. The man also stated he has been waiting for a while, and at the door it is clearly written "walk-ins welcome". The lady blatantly refused. I asked myself why I continued to take this nonsense. I requested for my previous exam prescription. They acted like they couldn't obtain it. They finally provided it when they found out I wasn't budging. As I left the building, I contacted Walmart Vision and was seen same day by an in-person optometrist who was very personable and works with a great crew. I was even provided sample contact lenses to try. I also found out that I have been over-paying for my contacts through Visionworks. I have been paying double the cost even with my insurance! Honestly, I'm glad this experience pushed me to make a change after these many years. read more

Since moving to this area, this is my spot for eyewear. Their customer service is excellent, very welcoming kind and attentive. All of needs were met with all of my questions answered about my insurance coverage, and my out of pocket cost. So here is a story of how a great business and wonderful customer service can change and make a die hard customer never want to return. Before I start with the negative I would like to lead with the positive. The lady who helped me was beyond accommodating, punctual and friendly. I do not know her name but she is a Scorpio she wore a scorpion ring and I believe she is the manager. If she is not please promote her because she was the only positive engagement I had in the store. I called to see if they had the particular frames I was looking for. I had a break in at my home and during the struggle my frames broke and I had to get new ones. Seeing as how the corporation has discontinued the acceptance of my insurance I had to pay all out of pocket for this. 12 years of accepting my insurance and suddenly after reopening from covid they drop my insurance as a carrier. When I walked in the nice Scorpio lady knew who I was and asked the lady at the front desk to help me. I could see the disgust in her face when she was asked to help me. She didn't even bother to look at me and instead told the Scorpio lady that she was calling the next guest then proceeded to call the nexts name out loud. After she called the name aloud she looked like a fool because they were already being helped by the "manager" and she told her to work on my glasses. The woman who took my glasses didn't have to say anything to me because I could easily read her frustration and disgust by her mannerisms, facial expression and body language. The other big issue I had with this location is I completely understand having nails is fun luxury people get to do to express their inner diva. I love and appreciate all artwork and artists creations. However having 3 inch nails that come to an extreme point to me is beyond unprofessional. I did not at all like her demeanor or representation. I feel it is not hygienic to have such long nails dealing with peoples faces especially in times of covid. While we all have standards in our business I personally would not allow that in my business for a multitude of reasons. I was very displeased with my interaction with her. What's even worse is I LOVED this location Lamont I believer his name was and Charles were worth the hour and a half drive for my appointments. I am someone who believes in outstanding customer service and in a society where business are closing approximately 1 in 6 businesses have closed since covid in Baltimore. I understand finding good help is hard. However I will not feel as if I am inconveniencing someone by coming into a brand that welcomes walk ins and the public. I was beyond dissatisfied with how she treated me. If it were not for the kind soul of the woman who initially started out interaction I would not have proceeded forward. I would take this review as an honest review and use it to better train your employees, instill in them the importance of brand reputation and repeat client booking. If the business is hurting after covid then here's a suggestion. Don't drop people's insurance, welcome us with a bright face and if you are understaffed don't fill your book. Because I'm sure that girl that waited on me is very friendly but she is probably just over worked and by the looks of how many people were in their corporate should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this type of nonsense to occur. The worst company ever... I made an appointment months in advance and even called one month before my appointment to re-confirm my appointment date and time is in the system. The company even emailed me a message the day of my appointment to remind me about the time. I arrived at the location and was told no doctors showed up. Many of the staff responded with "wow another one" and then they began talking to each other stating how they thought someone called customers yesterday to tell them. Apparently this issue has been ongoing all week and no one called me. So my time, energy and gas were wasted. The worst part is that everyone is trying to use their benefits at the end of the year... so getting a last minute appointment is likely not going to happen this year. Customer service does not answer the phone for complaints or assistance. This is ridiculous. read more

The worst company ever, very poor customer service. I went to get an eye examine and the service was horrible. There was no doctor on hand the so call tech had no people skill, she became very rude when I said to her that she shouldn't be asking me about my medical history, or what medication I take, out in the opening of the store where others can here. This is a violation of the HIPAA law there was no privacy. Her response was she just doing her job and it's not her problem she just works there; I would need to take it up with her manager. I ask for the manager well it was a supervisor that was acting as if she was the store manager which was a waste of my time. Needless to say, I cancel the appointment because of how I was treated, the machine that they use to check the pressure in your eyes was dusty, and dirty. Every eyeglass I attempt to try on was dirty. I called the cooperate office put in a compliant about my experience, I was given a ticket number and was told someone will be reaching out to me in about three days well it's been three weeks. I guess what comes from the top will trickle down. Poor patient service, poor patient experience, I will never go back there or recommend anyone to go. read more

I would not recommend this location. When I came for glasses, the sales lady rushed through her presentation for the different packages. We did not elaborate on what could have been best for my eyes. I asked her to show me the inexpensive pair. She responded to just look in the wall. I asked her again she said the same thing. But all the glasses are mixed together with NO PRICE TAG. Therefore making it impossible for me to pick what was in my budget. I asked a third time and she started pulling them out and putting them on the ledge instead of in the eye glass tray. If she did not want to service me, I would have gladly waited for someone else!!!! Before we started, I asked if I could get my glasses the same day. She said depends. But through the presentation she never says I can't get the glasses. It isn't until after I pay that she informs me they would not be ready for over a week. Then..... I come to pick the glasses up well after the day they tell me the glasses were ready- I still had to wait an hour!!!! I will NEVER return. NEVER!!!! read more

Being a life long glass wearer I have been to numerous places for exams and glasses. My insurance recommends Vison Works. I tried the one in White Marsh, absolutely horrendous service! I thought let me try Rosedale...even worse sad to say. Staff doesn't know their own products. I asked about a particular pair of glasses and she straight up looked at me and said I don't know anything about them! I scheduled an appointment for 945am and showed up at 9:10am....didn't get seen till after 10:30 and didn't get half the services I MADE THE APPOINTMENT FOR. No contact exam, no dilation... I had better luck at and will go back to Lenscrafters or even Wal-Mart! read more

One star only because I'm forced to pick one. Don't come here. Picked out glasses. Rep said they'd call when them came in. 3 weeks later I go to get my glasses and one lens is completely wrong. So they need to reorder. Again, I'm told they will call me when they are done. And they will be rushed. Again no call. Ten days later I call they've been ready. Can't get them though because no tech in. Go one month after my original order and guess what. Wrong again. I call corporate to complain. They say talk to the local manager. What is my comp....$50 and a cleaning kit!!! Woozer!!! What makes this even worse is the fact that they don't take my insurance so I could have gone somewhere else but chose to pay almost $700 because I liked this place. NEVER AGAIN!!! I have been going to this location for years however I recently had the most unpleasant experience ever. The doctor here is great however the front of the store staff is not so great. I usually come once every year for a new exam and prescription and haven't had any issues but I do notice that the customer service especially over the phone has become more of a hassle for reordering items like contact lens refills and so forth. I regularly order a new batch of lenses but recently I was asked to setup an eye exam and the way this was conveyed to me over the phone was as if I was to do so or else I wouldn't be able to retrieve my lenses although I had already paid for them! Ridiculous because it was around the 6 months mark and my prescription should last for at least a year. I ordered the lenses anyway and the day finally came to pick them up which I thought would be a smooth process but boy was I wrong. I was working and I had a quick 30 minute window out of my work schedule which I used to pick the lenses up in but when I arrived the lady at the front desk saw me yet she turned around and walked away. I was left waiting for a good 5 minutes which is long considering I was there to just pick up my order. Then I was approached by the middle aged African-American gentleman who was courteous and attentive to me however he was then cut off by the lady who I previously mentioned disappeared conventiontly and not to my benefit. She then proceeded to ask me if I had already paid for my lenses rudely and she went through a drawer that apparently had contact lens orders with customer information on each and grabbed the wrong batch of lenses initially before I corrected her and she found the correct set. She then told me that I couldn't leave with them until I saw the eye doctor and my patience ran dry at this point and I had to let her know that I'm on a break from work and I didn't have time to deal with the nonsense and to just give me my already paid for order so I can go about my day. I finally got my order but I couldn't believe how I was treated. I've been a loyal customer to this location for years but I won't be returning here. They've just lost a loyal paying customer of many years and oh yeah, their prices are outrageous for frames! Do yourself a favor and find another place because they're customer service is abyssmal. My experience with this place was exceptional. When I arrived they took all precautions due to COVID-19. The young lady at the front made me feel so at ease and very knowledgeable about her job. When I went to pick up my glasses I felt that the glasses didn't feel right, and they worked with me and corrected the problem. I feel they went the extra mile to make sure that my glasses fit me properly and that I was able to see again. (Lol) I would recommend this place in a heart beat. Doctor was great. However, they lost my appointment in their system that I placed online. I expected a brick and mortar store to be a little more expensive, but not this outrageous. They try to convince you their the almighty gods of glasses. However, they mark their frames and lenses up 3000%. So I left store with a small folder I was told contained my prescription. Got home, went to website, ordered same frames with same lenses for 1/3 of what visonworks wanted. So time comes to place my order online so I open my little folder to find no prescription inside. Call the store and girl on phone is pure attitude. Tells me only way is to go all the way back to the store. When I went back, they were rude and when I asked for them to measure my PD it was like asking someone to fly around the world. Stay away! This company is a joke...They have shady employees working at the Golden Ring Location...The management is useless and don't want to investigate and they just go by what their employee says. They have an employee stealing from them right under their nose and they don't care. I would not recommend going to this place to get eye care. Due to their negligence, my poor daughter is failing school because I live paycheck to paycheck and can't afford glasses out of my pocket and because of their negligence I have to wait until March for her to get glasses. read more

My boyfriend needed a eye exam and this facility was close. The people were very accommodating and friendly. They were extremely busy the day we were there but each customer was greeted with a smile and received timely service. My boyfriend was pleased with the optometrist and says he will definitely return there in the future. We also had contact with the general manager who was very pleasant and conversational. I purchased two pairs of glasses from Vision Works in December 2016 at the same time. I had to take them back twice and had them remade. They really did not want to remake them. Acted like it was me. The sunglasses were never right even after the second time. The steering wheel looks flat with my sunglasses on. So now my coating on my regular glasses is coming off. I called and Girl on the phone even said that glasses should last at least 2 years. So my glasses are 14 months old. I spent over $500.00 even with a prescription plan. They will not do anything to correct the problem. Out of warranty which is one year. I will never go in Vision Works again. I will make sure I tell everyone about how bad their product is. This has been the worst experience and customer service I have even experienced in my years of living. First and foremost , the optometrist had no idea what he was explaining to me. So much for that $10 eye exam they offer. The receptionist looked me up and down multiple times before giving me and my daughter dirty looks. On top of all of this ruckus, they don't print out your prescription for you documentation, and I had to come back multiple times to get the right one. I was almost in a car accident because the prescription they believed to be correct deteriorated throughout the day. I had to wait for over an hour for a 10 minute eye exam. I also overheard male workers talking about inappropriate behavior. I will NEVER return here .I would rather pay $50 more at Walmart and have a prescription last more than a year , than just a day here. read more

Go somewhere else. It's possible to come here and get good service, but that is purely luck. I went and waited over an hour past my appointment time while the optometrist saw other people including a walk-in. I shouldn't have to remind the staff that I'm there. It's their job to know. Their selection can hardly be called a selection. Be prepared to look at basically the same pair of glasses over and over again. Get your prescription somewhere else.
