Visited in February in search of eye care and a place with fashionable frames. Had an early afternoon appointment on a Monday so parking was a breeze right in front. The place is bright, airy and has a range of frames. I didn't have any issues with the front desk staff. The people referenced in previous reviews may not even work there anymore. The exchange with the doctor was not that engaging and beyond quick. I don't think I was there, from start to finish, for longer than 20 minutes. Then the customer service sparkled for the next patient. Interesting experience but not sure I'd return since it didn't feel warm and inviting. read more

This was a pretty pleasant experience. The front desk staff were cordial but warmed up more after we sparked conversation related to our kids sports. It wasn't busy when I arrived but a few people trickled in eventually. The eye exam conducted by Dr. Beveridge was very quick but extremely efficient. I've had eye exams at several different places from large box companies to small businesses and none of them were nearly as good as Canton Vision Center. My new prescription felt crystal clear with Dr. Beveridge. During the exam, he was pretty mild but professional and patient. He has a very chill/relaxed energy. Overall, I would continue to visit this location as I have for the past several years. I usually do not purchase glasses from here because I typically get them from online dealers, however, this time I decided to get some prescription glasses and loved them. With insurance, I spent about $70 total for a yearly eye exam (free with $10 copay), sunglass frames, and prescription lens. They accept FSA as payment as well as credit/debit. I highly recommend this local small business for a quick yet efficient eye exam and prescription glasses. This place doesn't give you super warm/huggy vibes but they are definitely polite, knowledgeable, and professional. My review is SOLELY for Dr. Beveridge, not that the front staff are bad I just dont have a ton of interaction with them other than checking me in and handing me my glasses when I order from them. 90% of my appointment is with the Dr. who is extremely patient, friendly and helpful. He answers all my questions, chats about Ohio sports and I never feel rushed. I was long overdue for an eye exam when my coworker recommended Dr. Beveridge. I made my appt easily online. My appt day there was no wait and I was in and out. Dr. Beverage and his staff are excellent! I can't say enough about how kind, caring and knowledgeable he and his staff are. Professional, caring and so helpful. I have been wearing semi permeable contacts for many years, they have been extremely uncomfortable for many years. But I really didn't think it could improve, I thought it was just me and my eyes have been so dry for years, when I got home after a long day of wearing my contacts I could not wait to get them out! However when I put on my glasses my vision was not clear and it took several hours to improve. Honestly I thought this was normal and as good as it would get. After seeing Dr. Beverage, he assured me he would get my eyes feeling better and I would see so much better but it might take dome time. Dr. Beverage took great care in ensuring that i was put in the correct prescription, Dr. Beverage made me feel like he cared for me as he would for his own family members. It has been a process but I am seeing better than I have in years! Dr. Beverage's expertise in contacts and glasses is top notch. His staff took great time in guiding and helping me to choose glasses that would handle my prescription the best snd look nice. Unfortunately, I didn't even get to make it in the door. I set up an appointment a month in advance to have Dr. Beveridge do my dearly needed eye exam. Two days before hand, the office called me to tell me that the doctor would not be in that day and we would need to reschedule for another day. I had taken a day off to be able to make this visit and the complete nonchalance with which this information was given to me was all the more aggravating. To make matters worse, they were totally unhelpful with providing any professional recommendations for other optometrists/ophthalmologists that might be able to fit me in on the same day. I'm sure the rosier reviews below are authentic, but red flags like my encounter above can't simply be dismissed. read more

Canton vision center was not open when I tried to come in at 2:00 on a Tuesday. There was a note saying they were out to lunch--there must have been only one person working that day. The note said they'd return at 2:30... We finally left at 2:45. For some folks this may be a convenient location, but not for me! It took me a half hour to drive over from Charles Village. Dr. Beverage is caring, knowledgeable and professional, but not a business person. The receptionist, Chanel, is just that. She should not be selling glasses as she is completely incompetent, untrained and uncaring. I asked for my glasses to be overnighted but she said that wasn't possible. I called every day to see if they had arrived and she never remembered my name or what I was calling about. My first pair of glasses arrived and she managed to break them as she was putting the lens into the glasses herself. They told me they would overnight a new pair to the lab but it took several days before they actually arrived. When I asked what the tracking number was she said they hadn't kept it even though it was sent UPS. After almost three weeks the glasses finally arrived. When I went in she "adjusted" them for me. After several tries I finally said they were good even though they weren't. They are not tight enough and are crooked on my face. They are progressive lenses and the near and far work ok but the computer part is blurry. When I called her she didn't even apologize, just asked when I would like to see the Doctor. I sure don't want to go back but what choice do I have? By the way, there is no answering machine and the phone just rings and rings if she is talking to another customer. There is no email listed on the website. While Dr. Beverage did give me a refund of 50% I don't think I would ever buy another pair of glasses here unless he replaces Chanel. read more

A convenient location and a modern office helps on the grey and trashy streets of Canton. The doctor knew his stuff and was polite and efficient. He was willing to discuss my specific concerns and had intelligent suggestions. His assistant showed me a wide array of frames and had good advice on the trade-offs between styles. The price of the specs I bought was more than reasonable. However . . . Dr. Beveridge dashed in to my appointment and dashed out as soon as I was done. He never seemed impatient with the time I took, but I think his mind was elsewhere. We've all had days like that. His frame assistant was similarly correct and astute, but not what I'd call friendly. Still, I came away with a fine new pair of glasses with a minimum of fuss. I will recommend Dr. Beveridge to other members of my family. We'll see how it goes. read more

This review seems consistent with most of the reviews on Yelp. Dr Beverage is great . However the staff and customer service provided by the staff at the front desk is terrible . After having a pair of glasses for a little over 1 year . My lenses becAme glazed and I was unable to see out of my glasses . Upon returning them I was informed by the gentleman at the desk that it was because they have glare protection on them and that is common for that to happen . With that said I feel as though I should have been informed of that at the time of purchasing . Which brings me to my next complaint . The gentleman proceeded to tell me that I should not be worried about the defective lens because my insurance paid for my glasses and that they cost me $0. As if I don't need my glasses to see. I decided to try and speak with the young lady at the counter the following day . She seemed very pleased to tell me that they would not be offering to replace my lenses . Because the haze that was now covering the lenses due to the glare protection was equivalent to me scratching them myself . Both employees were totally careless about the product the business offers and even more condescending to the customer . In addition to this horrible customer service e there are charges to my insurance that my dependent has visited the location. When in fact . This is not the case . At first, I was thinking 4-stars, but after seeing all the other 5-star reviews, I felt a little more pressure to really think about how I felt about Canton Vision. The bottom line was: -they are super convenient, if you live or work in the area -they never seem too busy, so if you call ahead or make an appointment, you can be in and out in a jiffy AND the clincher for me was -their prices BEAT COSTCO (i don't know how they did it but that's amazing) I bought two sets of lens for existing frames and while they had order it, I didn't wait that long, received a phone call promptly when they arrived, and the lenses came back perfect. Apparently, my pupil-to-pupil distance is a little different than average, and with my astigmatism, if the tech doesn't order it right, I have to send the lenses back. In the past, I've had to send back the lenses back multiple times. NOT WITH Canton Vision! So price, accuracy, and convenience earned them 5-stars for Canton Vision in this service category. read more

I had a bad experience at Canton Vision Center. I went in for an eye exam. I was told I needed glasses for distance. I began to have eye problems after i received my new glasses. I later went to an ophthalmologist who thought that the glasses I had received 4 weeks earlier, were a very old prescription because my eyes were in need of drastically different lenses. I wasted a lot of money, and not I have to do it all over again. I will not return to Canton Vision Center. read more

Dr Beveridge is extremely nice and knowledgeable, and does everything in his power to keep costs down for customers. Wow. I can see again. I'd been going to the same optometrist for 30 years (gasp). I've been wearing glasses since 4th grade, and now those same frames are back in style. :) But I digress. My optometrist recently retired, and after reading good reviews here about Dr. Beveridge, I thought I'd give him a shot. I'm so glad I did. I'd been in progressives for about 7 years, but I never could see really well. On top of that, I started getting headaches. After my eye exam, Dr. Beveridge suggested a single-vision lens, appearing shocked/appalled that I'd been in progressives for so long and telling me that it was too soon. I was skeptical at first but had nothing to lose, so I ordered the glasses. I've had them for a few days and feel like a new woman. My eyes are so relaxed - not straining to see, not squinting. Dr Beveridge examined my eyes, my two children ages 5 and 8, as well as my mother's eyes over two separate appointments. My children were a bit nervous & Dr Beveridge made them feel at ease and even made it fun. My mother suffers with dementia and she is not able to answer questions nor are her responses reliable. This was very concerning to me as every eye doctor I talked to relies on the patient's response during the exam to determine their eye care needs. The advanced technology at the Canton Vision Center and Dr. Beveridge's stellar bedside manner made it a great visit. My mother was smilng and happy which made me forever grateful! There is not enough praise for the gratitude I felt for the care my family received. Dr. Beveridge is awesome! If you need to go anywhere for your eye exam/lens/frames/contacts and you're in Baltimore, then I don't know why you would go anywhere but here. They are really personable staff, have a pretty solid selection of frames, and they schedule their appointments so you don't have to wait. I've been 3 times and have waited maybe a total of 5 minutes before seeing the Dr. He looks out for your eyes, if you don't need something, he's not gonna try to sell it to you. I think that Dr. Bevridge is fantastic. He's great with patients. He understands my vision needs. If I could, I would personally give him a 10 + rating on Yelp. Here's where things are not great. I went at the end of January 2017 - got an exam and ordered my "Free" - insurance paid glasses. I also gave up my favorite frames - so they could put in my new prescription - got as many bells and whistles as I could for my lenses (progressive, anti-glare, thin lenses, transitions) I was told 5 to 7 days. Two weeks later I was called and told that one of my pairs was ready. I asked to have them call me when both Glasses were available for pick up. I never got a call. I decided to stop in the first week in March - When I arrived I found out both glasses were and ready and the woman at the desk said: "Oh, looks like no one called you when these came in." My most favorite frames - were out of shape, and terribly discolored. To me, they were not the same frames I turned in I went back a week later to complain. The office staff told me - they were old frames, and that's what happens. I said These aren't my frames; they came back ill fitting and discolored and dirty. Yes, They were my frames. I said I didn't bring them in like this. Again told they were old frames They were (three years old) I said well that's $$$$ out the window. Then she said - If I bought new frames - they would re-do the lenses. I agreed and spent another $$ on some beautiful frames. A month later, I went into the office to check to see if my new glasses had arrived - they had. I asked why hadn't they called me when they came in - "They have been updating the system and didn't have time to call." As I was driving home, I noticed my transition lenses - Weren't working like I thought they would. I've had them before, and When I came in back in January, I was sure I ordered the transition lenses that keep dark in the car, and I was getting a lot of glare. So this time I went back the same day to say Hey, I thought I had anti-glare and got the drivers (Stay dark in the car). What was ordered the was "extra active" as the drivers were mainly just for sunglass orders and not used for standard lenses. So of course, they don't stay dark in the car. I wish they had told me that back in January. She informed me the anti-glare was there as she could see the purplish-green tint on top of the lens. Again, love the doctor. I will not go back there again. $$$$$ spent and still not happy. read more

The Dr is great, but the service is not good at all there. I ordered a pair of glasses on Dec 29, 2016. The receptionist was reluctant to give details about my lens. She said she was not the sales person for the lens. Even though she had the information, she would not say anything unless people had asked. She said if I wanted details, I could just go to big chain stores. Finally, I just called about 5 mins (February 2, 2017) ago to ask if my glasses was in because they had never called me. So I am going to suggestions from the receptionist to order glasses from the stores who are willing to assist their customers. read more

I live in Towson and traveled 25 minutes to Canton Vision Center because my mother and sister rave about Dr. Beveridge and the awesome customer service from the staff. For as long as I can remember I have had vision problems. I have a lazy eye, an astigmatism and a few other diagnosis I can not begin to pronounce or spell. I have worn eye patches, bottle cap glasses, hard contacts, soft contacts, anything you can imagine, I have tried it. As a child my mother always brought me to the best specialist and as an adult with all these vision problems I thought it was mandatory to visit one of these huge, generic, robot, can't-get-an-appointment-for-two-months vision centers. I have to say that out of all the eye doctors I have visited, Canton Vision Center was the best. I felt like a friend instead of just a patient. Dr. Beveridge made me feel comfortable with my vision problems and is the most optimistic Doctor I have had since I was a child and all the vision devices were covered with jungle animals (haha). I was under the impression that my lazy eye was helpless and in the past, have been advised to only wear a contact in my strong eye. Dr. Beveridge fit me for contacts for both eyes. I am feeling very confident about my vision and how it can improve in the future. **Canton Vision Center prices are way more affordable than my usual 1-800 contacts. I ordered contacts for both eyes and it was less than the price of contacts for one eye.** PS- I hate the city because the parking situation is terrible but there were plenty places to park. I parked right across the street, which was soo convenient because it was poring down when I was leaving. read more

I have been here twice and both times I had to call back multiple times to make an appointment as they never returned my messages. Also, they ask you to remove your contacts in one area, and then to get to the exam room, you must walk over approximately four or five variations in the floor. As someone who is nearly blind, this is a terrible way of doing things and I am always fearful that I will fall. I won't be going back here. read more

The staff is phenomenal and literally found me a pair of glasses that complimented my face. My exam with Dr. Ryan was awsome.
