She then asked where I worked and VOLUNTEERED to drop them off to me. When I tell you my heart is FULL . I no longer go to my previous eye doctor due to multiple less-than-favorable experiences, and for this Black woman to go above and beyond for me speaks volumes about her character and confirms that I made the right decision. I think the office in Baltimore City it's highly unprofessional I believe they screw up a lot of orders. The receptionist is always always on the personal call in front of clients never once have I seen her not on a personal call. Even when she is assisting you she is on a personal call I think that's highly unprofessional on top of not getting orders correct. The eye doctors they seem to be amazing but they should get rid of the secretary or make her put a phone in a car and start paying attention to clients. I wouldn't recommend this office.​ read more

Absolutely brilliant staff. Everybody was so friendly and utterly charming, from start to finish. I happened to get an appointment within a week of emailing, and didn't have to wait more than five minutes or so for the exam. Doctor was sweet and patient with me (as I tend to get easily confused with my own eyes) and addressed my concerns directly and concisely. When I went to select my frames, the ladies in the office were so attentive and helpful! I said I liked bold and colorful frames, and immediately they brought out hidden boxes of options to show off. The wall simply could not fit them all! I wound up going with one of the first few pairs, but it was great to try some options and chat for a bit. (Even if I did accidentally leave my card there and had to loop back--whoops! But they were great about that too, haha.) I'll be telling my friends to look here when they need new specs! read more

It took me about 1 month to actually get an appointment, but I had a great experience! PLUS, it was all for under $100 for contact lenses + glasses prescription -- seriously a steal. I highly recommend Affordable Optics. The optometrist was gentle and thorough. The office had the old, good stuff -- she had a plethora of lenses for me to look through, and was careful and took her time when I couldn't tell the difference. As a person with an astigmatism, sometimes only the shape of the letter changes, which makes it hard to really say which is more clear. She didn't upsell me, and gave me 5 trial lenses for my changed prescription so I was certain it was good. The office was also prompt in giving me my prescription. I trust the optometrist here, 0and affordable optics. read more

I love this place!! You can browse some of the frames yourself, and there are some higher end frames behind the counter. Amazing prices, some special deals, and excellent customer service! Let me be clear--the office is not fancy, and you may have to wait-but the staff is so friendly, kind, professional, and efficient!! The only reason I gave five stars is, this medium doesn't offer more! From my first visit to my last, I found the staff highly personable & professional. They didn't try to sell me anything comma rather they allowed me to take my time and browse through the amazing selection A-frames they had to offer. I've been wearing glasses for 70 years. (Right. I'm a geezer.) In that time I've dealt with many opticians. From the time when you could buy a pair of eye glasses for $23, to when glasses became an overhyped fashion accessory and prices soared into the $multi-hundreds for a frame--essentially a bit of twisted wire or plastic. At that point buying glasses became a matter of finding an optician who offered a basic product for this basic need at basic prices. Not easy. However I am pleased to report that I recently discovered Affordable Optics. An obviously low overhead operation (you've gotta buzz yourself upstairs and through labyrinthine corridors into a tiny sales and service area.) But it's worth the effort. There I found courteous and knowledgeable salespersons who took my prescription and -- a week later provided me with accurately made glasses at a price I could afford and knew how make the needed adjustments to fit--something too many opticians ignore. I had a wonderful all around experience here. My prescription has always been tricky to get correct but they did a great job. I had to get bifocals which I knew was coming. They did great. I adjusted to them with a day or two. It's amazing the difference. They helped me pick out frames that I get compliments on all the time. This place is amazing!!!!!!!! I just moved to Baltimore and no longer have vision insurance. This place is extremely affordable and the customer service is wonderful!! The staff made me feel right at home. The Dr. was pleasant and knowledgeable. She took time to answer all of my questions AND gave me prescriptions for not only my contacts, but my glasses as well, although I came for only a contact exam. Also, they gave me a MONTH long pair of contacts with solution and case! I paid $65 without insurance!!! The Dr. gave me both prescriptions without hesitation and I went on my way. I will continue to come to this place while I live in the area. I was extremely worried about being able to afford an examination and this place was such a blessing!!
