I stopped by Visionworks to pick up my new glasses and had a great experience. I arrived around 6:30 PM (they close at 7PM), and the gentleman working immediately greeted me and helped me right away. There was another couple in the store, and he managed to be equally attentive to all of us. He quickly found my glasses, had me try them on, complimented how they looked, and offered to make adjustments. It fit perfectly, so no adjustment needed. Overall, the staff here are knowledgeable, welcoming, and professional. They accept my current insurance, and this location is conveniently close to my home. My only wish is that they had a larger selection of frames and brands to choose from, but otherwise a good experience! read more

Not sure where to start. Use to love this location but after this last eye exam I lost trust. They changed my prescription to way less than my eyes use to be. I brought it up twice I was not worried about reading my phone I would rather have distance at night. My rx was taken down a whole point. So my first trials could not even read the chart. Also not the right ones ordered by the dr did not matter in the end because I could not read the chart w them in. Now that Dr. says I have astigmatism. I get my new trials my left eye which has always been worse is struggling. I feel like a fuzz w the new trials. My eye hurt and the brand is making my eyes super dry. I want distance not to be able to see my phone!! I'm happy to wear a reader for that. At this point I have no clue what my prescription is?? Don't trust the telavisit. Not sure I will get my health benefits in before the year is over. It's been over 2 months and this is still it right!! Very disappointed and will not return after this latest visit. read more

Won't be going back. Showed up for my 9:45 appt at 9:50 and the doors were still locked shut (supposed to open at 9am). Two more customers came to stand at the door with me, the Dr came out and said no staff were there to let her in. I let her know I called and spoke to someone to let them know I may be running 5-10 min late and she said it went to a central location and since I was running late I would have to wait. I didn't understand why since I was first in the parking lot and at the front door. When a staff member showed up and opened the store, she took the other two people first, one had a 10am appt and the other didn't have an appt. I didn't make a big fuss in store but I'll never go back here. Completely unprofessional, ego driven "doctor". Front desk staff was nice. read more

Friendly staff and doctor but incredibly slow. I had an appointment (tele), but was not seen until 30 minutes later for the initial eye tests. Then had to go back to the waiting room and wait another 50 minutes to have a tele appointment with a doctor. The wait time just kept getting longer. I will not be coming back here and would not recommend this location unless you have hours to waste. I'm giving 2 stars for the staff. read more

Enjoyed going here especially after a bad experience at another place (see previous review). Looked for frames (brought the prescription) and thought I had picked out some good ones. Jenny, who was at the front desk, saw what I had and magically pulled a pair off the wall that were similar, but ten times better. It was amazing. She was extremely helpful and attentive and, unlike that unnamed other place, knew how to process my insurance and let me know the allowance very quickly. Overall, excellent customer service, low pressure, good times. Will be going back soon to pick up the new glasses. Look forward to it. read more

I wouldn't recommend anyone to visit this particular location. I went in for contact lenses and an eye exam. I told the Dr. that the contact lenses that she wanted me to try hurt and was uncomfortable, she dismissed me. She refused for me to try different brands in order to find one that was comfortable. Her response was, "this is all I have for you to try." When I went home, I noticed that the prescription she wrote down was questionable in comparison to my previous prescription from the previous year. I made another appointment for contact lenses and glasses prescription. I got a different Dr. She was actually nice and really helpful. However, again, Instead of receiving a 10 day trial supply, I got a 6 day supply with my right eye having 6 contact lenses and right eye having about 5. Really Inconvenient and frustrating. I was also dismissed, again, when I brought up concerns about the glasses prescription. She didn't offer an explanation for me to understand the prescription, she told me, she needed to see her next client. One of the ladies upfront is cold and does not have customer service skills at all. She ignored me when I came into the store. Another lady who was at the back is the one who ended up checking me in after waiting for a couple of minutes. read more

Drs. Don't listen when you tell them that glasses are to strong. I wore mine for a month and had headaches almost everyday. I called to let them know and they re-examined my eyes and sure enough they were to strong. I ended up with the same prescription as before and see just fine. Don't let them convince you that you need to wear them to get use to it. That should only apply to new glasses for the first time. Crazy I tell ya. The front end staff is not friendly at all. They don't care either way if you like it or not. Very unfriendly read more

I was promised my two pair of glasses today. I called the store because the text update could not find my order any longer. When I called the store, I was told my one pair was done but they could not locate them at the time of my call. Then I was told that the fames for the second pair of glasses that I was promised today were back ordered. I would not have known this unless I called. I was promised a call back with information and did not get that either. Their website has no real way of speaking with anyone. So what am I now out over $400? Seriously the worst customer service. They double book all eye appointments. I was here for 45 minutes and they never took us back, had to reschedule to keep a previous appointment. We were promised that upon return we would be seen immediately. Well we are 20 minutes PAST our appointment time and still haven't been seen. Plan to spend all day here. Dr. Ruby Arthur and the staff there are very professional and sincere. I credit Dr. Arthur as the catalyst to saving my sight a while back. The staff is not just about selling you glasses....they take their time to answer any and all questions you might have and provide the most economical product possible. People working at the desk are slow, and seem to not know what they are doing without the help of the one woman in this office. Do not notify you if your exam is about to expire. Honestly would have switched today but couldn't get in anywhere else. Had sticky "goo" on the eye exam machine...told the woman and continued to tell me to put my forehead against it anyways...until I obviously said no and asked for it to be wiped. The doctors seemed great but front end staff was cold, unwelcoming, and seemed annoyed by the very presence of customers. Interactions with them were awkward and very stiff. I can say great things about he Dr who did my exam, but the front office staff is a mess. On round one of adjustments the woman who was doing the adjusting would not listen to me, and bent the crap out of my glasses. Refused to look behind my ears to see how the glasses were fitting. I finally requested another person who got the glasses in a slightly better position. Wearing them was giving me headaches, turns out the lens were made poorly. Went back and got two pairs (one for distance, one for reading instead of progressives). Went to pick them up and original woman was there who wouldn't stop talking and listen, she bent the frames around and kept saying they look fine to me. All she used was her hands, never used any special tools, etc. I've never seen anything like this. I gave up and just left. The next closest Visionworks store is in Chambersburg PA, so today I made the trip to a different state to see if I could salvage both pair of bent frames. OMG the service was so different...staff was friendly and responsive. Listened to my problem, got out a ton of special tools, examined how the frames sat on my head---actually touched my ears---set to work on fixing the frames and within minutes the problem was solved and my glasses now fit the way they are supposed to. I don't see a need to revist the Frederick store until A) the staff is trained to listen and B) the staff is trained to adjust glasses properly. Ie...one does not adjust glasses by using bare hands to bend them around like some sort of modernistic wire sculpture. I hope my comments help to effect some change in this store. Scheduled my eye exams online for me my 13 year old and 11 year old for 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. they wait till the weekend before to tell me that I have to reschedule I tried to call them back I couldn't get through so I made an appointment elsewhere I also heard that they don't actually do eye exams in person how do you have a zoom eye appointment anyway they said they wouldn't see my son because he's a kid and they pull the week after to try to reschedule the appointment over don't bother me no more I didn't show up really shity company why would you allow online scheduling and then not be able to talk to an actual person I give it a zero Stars and I want the company shut down not a good way to run a business when nobody can talk to you and you don't even do in-person eye exams read more

I received phenomenal customer service when I came to VisionWorks. I felt a little discouraged when I was quoted what it would take to replace my lens in existing frames I already had (a staggering $487 from a competitor!). I stumbled upon VisionWorks on google search and decided to give them a try in my quest for new glasses. I talked to Nathan, an associate, who really took the time to sit down with me and let me know what my insurance pays for. It turns out that I could get new frames and lens for fraction of what I was quoted from their competitor with my insurance (if you haven't guessed by now, the competitor I'm talking about is Lens Crafters). They had a wide selection of frames to choose from and I was able to successfully order them. I received my glasses the same week. When I received them, I let them know that I would come back if I needed any adjustments. I had come back on a later date to have them adjusted and a gentleman helped me. He provides great customer service and knew what he was doing to adjust my glasses onto my face correctly. I had a very positive experience with VisionWorks and they provide the utmost superior customer service. I would highly recommend going here for your glasses needs. read more

On a whim I decided that my boyfriend and I needed our eyes checked. He use to wear glasses as a child and his vision was getting blurry again. I have worn glasses since 2013, but have not needed to update my prescription since then. So of course I went searching for an optometrist who was available and accepting new patients. I made the appointments for both of us on the same day, and we were seen. The process is easy and quick. So many great associates were willing to help. It was quite busy when we went, but everything moved smoothly. We both got glasses and prescription sunglasses. There were so many options to chose from. We are extremely happy with the process. When our glasses arrive we will be able to get fitted for them and try them on to make sure everything in perfect. We can't wait! read more

The eye exam went well and the doctor took time to answer all my questions without making me feel rushed. After the exam we worked with the sales associate to find the perfect fitting glasses. The staff has always been helpful, patient and knowledgeable when it comes to frames that are appropriate for your face shape, size, your eyes, etc. I would have been lost and picked a pair of glasses that did not 'go' with my prescription if they had not helped me! They have always taken the time to explain prescriptions and exactly what that would translate to with the actual lenses and frames. We will be returning here again for my husband's glasses. So frustrated...I clearly did NOT get the same person to help me as the other reviewer here. Called to set an appointment for an eye exam and new glasses. Was very polite and very clear on what I was looking for. Unfortunately I was greeted with multiple heavy sighs, rudeness and a general tone of not wanting to help me with my request. I initially dismissed it, but after I was asked when I wanted to come in (because I work 7-6pm most days and also work outside appointments) and replied with the question of what was available, I was again met with rudeness in unnecessary tone explaining, "well we have tomorrow, friday, morning, afternoon, when do you want to come in? What do you need? Just one exam or two?". I politely excused myself from the call, stating "Actually, I am not happy with the service I am getting right now, so no thank you." and hung up. I get it, not everyday can be roses and sunshine however when your job is phone work with clients, you probably should take a little more pride in how you represent yourself and your company. Just totally off-put, stinks too because this location is so convenient for me, oh well :-( read more

I went in today with damaged frames. I purchased the glasses a little while ago. They were just slightly broken, but enough to be annoying. The woman that helped me was super friendly. She took my frames back and swapped out the frames within 10 minutes. I was shocked with how friendly she was and how efficiently she solved my problem! read more

The doctor who examined my eyes was fine but seemed rushed. Sean was friendly and helpful while picking out my glasses, but every pair that I tried on was dirty. I was told my glasses would come within 14 days on the fourteenth day I went in to pick them up and after some confusion, was told there was a delay in the prescription and they would call me later that day. Two days later I received a call that said they were sent back because they failed the quality inspection but would arrive in a few days. The next week, I was told they were on the manifesto arrive on Tuesday, but when I went in on Tuesday I was told, "Well they aren't here and I keep getting bumped out of the computer so I can't check. We'll text you when they come." I called the next day and the Sam woman said, " Weren't you in here yesterday? We will call you when they arrive." So, I ordered another pair from buyeyedirect.com which arrived in 9 days. After contacting customer service on their website, I was told they would be completed the next day and would arrive at the store on the following Monday. And they would call me when they arrived and discuss compensation for the delay. No call on Monday. Tuesday I walked in and asked if they were there and after first being told no, another employee found them let me try them on and gave me a bag with a cheap case and 6 packs of glass cleaning wipes and thanked me for my patience. I guess that was the compensation they were talking about. My glasses took 5 weeks and do not give me vision as clear as the pair that I ordered on line. read more

I wish I could give 0 stars. I will never go back to this location, I was so frustrated I paid my co-pay for my new prescription and left with nothing. The eye exam was fine but when it came to the people in the front that deal with your insurance good luck because all they want to do is take money right out of your pockets. They were trying to charge me for things that I told them were covered by my insurance, but they didn't care. They said well this is the information we have so this is what we are using, even after I logged into my insurance account and let them read my benefits. They were to lazy to get more information or to listen to anything so I left and called my insurance to make sure I was right and sure enough I was. My insurance was not happy and was going to call and explain to them they they should not be charging for these things that should be covered. I wonder how many people they have charged for things that should have been covered! I will be going elsewhere from now on and I've already told friends and family needing a new eye doctor to stay far away from this place. read more
