His staff including Dr Patel were wearing their costumes - paying homage to "A League of Their Own" movie for Halloween. My appointment was at 9 am and I was in and out in less than 45 minutes. They are efficient and friendly. Dr. Patel always provided good service and he always listened to me or my concerns. This visit, they have added a new machine to evaluate my torn retina and of course Dr. Patel confirmed the results manually too. I like that a lot - not just rely on tech. Thank goodness, my retina is still stable. He continues to advise me to pay attention to new symptoms and to call him immediately. Check up completed and will see them again in October 2027. I had a steroid response to the drops, a severe reaction. I asked the doctor and his staff repeatedly to check my eye for signs of glaucoma, being told multiple times I was healing well and fine.. I was told if the doctor thought I had glaucoma he would send me to a specialist for it... I took it upon myself to seek out a specialist myself. Sure enough I have glaucoma! I leaned that my eye pressure was elevated a year before my surgery, ( it was taken on every pre op appointment, and I was never told about the risks with a elevated eye pressure... or was it addressed. Dr Patel didn't listen to my concerns and rushes through examinations, he showed no concern for my pre op elevated eye pressures. I would recommend a more thorough RS who isn't in a hurry and is more focused on details and his patients concerns.

I checked with our insurance $37.25 not including our secondary insurance. The final straw was he ran out of one and the cost was over $70. Our cost was $25. We were told that they had billed insurance but no proof. Trust but verify.

I know…read morethat no one is perfect, but the office makes too many mistakes to be in a health environment. Incorrect scheduling is not the worst of their problems. Not only was I incorrectly scheduled on a day reserved for laser surgery (I was having standard surgery), but my lens selection was wrongly noted. Thank goodness we went over the procedure before a surgical mistake was made. Then there is the billing Assistant who works from home but confessed she did not know how to use the 'work' phone purchased for her; especially troublesome since work-at-home requires communication with the outside world. Then I noticed while on the Patient Portal, my husband was not listed as the designee for life/death decisions; instead another patient (including phone number) was listed. When I called him, he was surprised/amazed....never heard of me, let alone knew he would be required to make such decisions on my behalf. As I said before, Dr. Thadani is a competent and personable surgeon, but if you choose this practice for service, make sure they dot all the i's and cross all the t's. What was left out of the explanation was: 1) How dry my eyes would be and that I would have to use expensive Eye drops for the rest of my life to counteract the dryness, 2) That my vision up close and mid-range (to read my laptop) would now require reading glasses. So, I was basically trading off having to use glasses to see at distance; to having to use glasses for up close reading and mid-range reading. In all the procedure was painless although expensive, I saved for two years for this procedure. If you were to ask me if I would do it again? The answer would be no; due to the lifelong side effects of the poor up close vision and having to use expensive eye drops several times a day. Remember this is one man's experience and other people's experience may differ.

The last place I went to, years ago, nearer my home in Westminster, featured an aging German couple who started out lacking any sense of customer service, and degenerated into outright hostility when it came down to working with insurance. So, having no clue where to start ... I walked into an "optician" shop not too far from downtown Frederick - and they only did glasses, but said they'd made plenty of referrals and got back plenty of raves for the eye exam by Dr. John. Sure enough, Dr. John not only gave me the exam, he gave full explanation of everything he was doing, including checks for health issues not directly related to vision (did you know they can spot early indications of diabetes, MS, kidney issues, and more from an eye exam??). Dr. John also answered lots of questions and worked through various scenarios on how I'd actually use the glasses (e.g. computer screen, skiing, whatever), to come up with a good solution. Plus it's no fuss - the exam fee includes all my follow up visits while I'm trying out some contacts. Recommended.

Office manager argued with me claiming the prescription must not be right, which is not the case because I used the same prescription a month earlier at Peepers and those glasses are prefect. Walkersville Eyecare did not stand behind their work and refused a refund for the lenses that don't work. Save your time and money and go elsewhere for glasses, especially for progressive lenses as they struggle with determining focal points.

It happens every time and their excuse is they are short staffed, people called off. Another patient in the waiting room with an appointment at 910 was still waiting there at 950. Wonder when she got out of there! The waiting is the same at the Hagerstown office. Even though the doctors are great, I will be looking for another place for my eye care because Maryland Vision Institute cares more about squeezing in as many people in a day as they can, with no regard to the patient's time.

This office is nice and quiet and truly a "hidden gem." I recently to went Dr. Padmini Nathan's office because, I scratched my cornea and I was unable to get an appointment for an emergency examination anywhere else. Of the three offices that I contacted this one was the only one that offered me an opening to come in. Although, I had to wait until the following day it was worth it. In the interim I went to the ER, and followed up with their office the next day. My appointment was scheduled with Dr. Sydney Cooper, and I want to say, "she's amazing!" She made me feel at ease and she took my situation very seriously. She was very thorough in her examination, and with that said, she is going to follow up with my Primary Care Physician to ensure that I have lab work completed to rule out any underlying health issues that may be affecting my eye. I was so impressed because, this is the kind of continuity of care and communication amongst a patient's team of health professionals that is so needed and important. I was so thankful and grateful that they were able to schedule me for an appointment, and I knew that I was in good hands. I was happy that she was willing to take those extra steps to ensure my overall health.
