So, having no clue where to start ... I walked into an "optician" shop not too far from downtown Frederick - and they only did glasses, but said they'd made plenty of referrals and got back plenty of raves for the eye exam by Dr. John. Sure enough, Dr. John not only gave me the exam, he gave full explanation of everything he was doing, including checks for health issues not directly related to vision (did you know they can spot early indications of diabetes, MS, kidney issues, and more from an eye exam??). Dr. John also answered lots of questions and worked through various scenarios on how I'd actually use the glasses (e.g. computer screen, skiing, whatever), to come up with a good solution. Plus it's no fuss - the exam fee includes all my follow up visits while I'm trying out some contacts. Recommended.

There was another couple in the store, and he managed to be equally attentive to all of us. He quickly found my glasses, had me try them on, complimented how they looked, and offered to make adjustments. It fit perfectly, so no adjustment needed. Overall, the staff here are knowledgeable, welcoming, and professional. They accept my current insurance, and this location is conveniently close to my home. My only wish is that they had a larger selection of frames and brands to choose from, but otherwise a good experience!

I brought it up twice I was not worried about reading my phone I would rather have distance at night. My rx was taken down a whole point. So my first trials could not even read the chart. Also not the right ones ordered by the dr did not matter in the end because I could not read the chart w them in. Now that Dr. says I have astigmatism. I get my new trials my left eye which has always been worse is struggling. I feel like a fuzz w the new trials. My eye hurt and the brand is making my eyes super dry. After my eye exam I order contacts and glasses I always get them back in s reasonable time. The prices are good and they have a nice selection of glasses. They also have a decent selection of glasses for children. The eye care services they provide are sunglasses, computer vision, hard to fit contacts, eye surgery, lasik eye surgery, eye & vision exam and contact lens exams. My wife was having spots in her vision so we went here and the doctor referred us to a specialist long story short her Retna was detached and she needed surgery in both eyes. She had just been to an optometrist who didn't notice anything wrong. Good thing we wanted a second opinion.

I have had RayBan sunglasses and custom made before and in many years have never had this issue...not even once...but twice here. The people said the manager "checked them" and that this was acceptable to them. Well, it is NOT acceptable to me, and I asked for a refund and was refused because I signed some policy or another. I didn't sign a policy I'd be waiting almost a month for glasses that are not acceptable or normal. Play between the lens and glass is NOT acceptable. It is annoying. They gave me the card to "Audrey" who they didn't explain other than the bookkeeper for me to call on my own...not bother taking notes and having Audrey call me. So i called. Voicemail at a few minutes after 4pm. Wow....better than banker hours....they're closed. I hope that they call me back after leaving a message. I have zero confidence in this being rectified. For me, if they cannot, then I am forever done and will be following up things on all angles available. Not a happy camper...and an unhappy camper with a VERY LOUD MOUTH.
