My appointment was scheduled for 12 pm. I checked in online and arrived about 15 minutes early, but the online check in didn't seem to matter since I still had paperwork to fill out once I got there. That said, the space itself is big, well laid out, and clearly well staffed. Everything felt organized once I was checked in. When they are actually open and will answer the phone (because they really do not want you to call) you will never get a call back about the status of your glasses. I ordered my son's glasses in Jan. They came in a month later. They didn't fit and looked awful. They weren't measured (pd) correctly so ordered new glasses beginning in Feb. I checked online a few times and glasses aren't ready yet and it recognized it's been a month and says it's in priority status. I called several times over the next few days till I got someone live who said they weren't ready and he didn't know why. He said he'd have the manager call me as he wasn't there. That was a few days ago and no one called me back. If I'd ordered online anywhere else, we would've had glasses within a week. They sure do have my money though and we have no glasses or communication... I agree with another reviewer about the annoying appt calls too. So you make your appt online without talking to anyone but they called 3 times plus confirmation texts and emails to confirm, even the morning of the appt no matter how many times you promise you'll be there... Funny how they are concerned you won't show up, but then they don't care when you are trying to get what You've paid for (the actual glasses and the entire reason you went there). I did read somewhere that if you are using your insurance that eye doctors send you prescriptions to insurance labs that take a long time to save the insurance company money. I do not know if that's the issue here or not as it's not disclosed when you purchase glasses. And last, the 3 stars is the positive part which is the eye exam is fine and the insurance for fixing glasses as well as the policy to swap glasses that you don't like is actually nice. The problem is the amount of time to get that fix, the trade, it just new glasses in general using insurance is too long. My son's been using broken glasses for 2 months. The doc does the EXACT SAME vision test for contacts as eyeglasses ("which is better...A or B") and can somehow bill me $130. While I really liked the Dr and the staff that initially helped with picking out my frames. It seemed once they got your money they didn't care after that. I got a text saying my glasses were ready for pick up so I went the next day and they couldn't find my glasses. What seemed like forever, but was actually 20 minutes (still a long time) the asst manager found them somewhere in the back. I asked about my prescription sunglasses which he said "We'll, did you get a text saying they were ready too?" How was I to assume I would get separate text messages saying when each frame was ready when I ordered them at the same time? So I will have to return again to pick up the sunglasses, which is an hour for me one way. They did offer to send to another location which will save me about 15 minutes but still, never once apologized for the inconvenience. I will never go back to this location for sure. read more

Simply don't go to this place and if you decide to go only get an eye exam (liked my doctor) and don't order glasses. I ordered glasses 4 weeks ago, one pair came in as promised in about 2 weeks. The other pair has yet to show up. I called the store weekly to find out the status of the order after the two week point and was told 4 weeks later that the order was lost and had to be reordered (after being on hold for 20 min). Clearly I was very frustrated and as I was speaking to "one of the store managers" she was not apologetic or understanding, but vented her own frustrations to me about being caught between "the lab" and me and none of this was their fault ... repeatedly. The attitude was not helpful, understanding, or accepting responsibility for taking a lot of money and not delivering a product. It was all "the lab's fault" and "shipping lost them" and "No, there was no tracking number" (really?) If insurance had not been involved further complicating a refund I would have ask for one, instead I dealt with re-ordering the glass and continue to wait. read more

This is for the location at Worman's Mill. Absolutely awful. They broke my glasses putting in new lenses and their solution was to provide me only 2 frames from the store to put the lenses in-neither of which I liked. I have Warby Parker frames and asked if they could just give me a credit or money to replace the glasses they broke. The manager just kept repeating that they don't have a relationship with Warby Parker so there is nothing they can do. She insisted that because they were giving me free frames (that I didn't want) that I was getting a great deal. I disagreed. Mind you, they broke my frames and acted like I was being unreasonable that I didn't think some random pair off the shelf was such an amazing alternative. Ultimately I just asked (read: was not offered) for my money back for the lenses. I did get that in a reasonably short timeframe. But because I was getting my money back, I didn't get any new lenses and they kept my old lenses, so I had to drive home without my glasses. My prescription isn't that strong, but I still felt very unsafe driving. Fast forward to me going to Warby Parker. They were extremely friendly and replaced my glasses for free, with the new prescription! They weren't the ones who broke them, but were actually helpful in replacing them, and were kind to boot, unlike MyEyeDr. Pretty obvious that I will just go to Warby Parker for all needs in the future. I felt some type of way about Warby Parker busting into the eyecare space, but now I see why they are doing so well. Other large companies like MyEyeDr exclusively care about making money and gouging patients. They deserve to be pushed out by better companies like Warby Parker. read more

Dr. Adel Ibrahim at the Myeyedr located at 7810 Wormans Mill Rd Frederick, MD 21701 is the absolute BEST when it comes to progressive lens. My previous experience with progressive lens was a failure due to the Optometrist inability to get them right, before meeting Dr. IBRAHIM I had to take my glasses back to the store 6 times and I simply gave up after stepping off the curb and twisting my ankle. My first visit to Dr. Ibrahim was in Oxon Hill, MD and when I got my progressive that Dr. Ibrahim prescribed I was amazed by the clarity, the fact that I could see out of my glasses and his lovely personality was a Winner. I live in Clinton, MD and travel 80 miles each year just to get my eye exam and glasses, his skill and personality are the reasons that I will continue to follow him wherever he goes..If he were to move to the West Coast, I'll make that trip! read more

I went to My Eye Dr in Southbury because of Dr Filchak's reputation. Unfortunately I only was there to get frames and lens and saw a CSR named Elizabetta. Stay away from her. She over-billed me and put extras on glasses that I told her I didn't want or others we never talked about. I specifically told her I did not want $80.00 for A/R. First she said since my insurance only paid for standard lens that she said were junk so I agreed to upgrade to the Deluxe, she billed me for Premium $40.00 extra. I told her I didn't want the A/R since I don't drive at night. We discussed this. Also the UV coating was never mentioned. Also she charged me $67.00 for Photochromatic whatever that is but was never mentioned. How dare she scam me like this. I never saw what I was paying for until I picked up my glasses and saw the invoice that I had to request!!!! Elizabetta called me and said my portion would be $190.00. The total for my glasses came to $604.00 My ins paid $200 for frames and $200.00 for lens. I will be calling the office, BBB and my insurance company. I am owed money. I have never paid $604.00 for a pair of plastic glasses!!!!! I figures she owes me for charging me for the Premium lens when I agreed to the Deluxe. I definitely refused the A/R, the photo-chromatic was never mentioned and either was the U/V Coating. I never saw a list of what was to be put on my lens. When I came to pick them up I had to ask the girl for an itemized receipt. To say I am upset is an understatement. She ripped me off. I added up items I never agreed to and they come to $203.00. The doctor that saw me had terrible bedside manner. It was almost like I was a bother to her. She would not let me ask any question and my appt was rushed and ran through. Then once it was time to have my eyes fitted for glasses I wasn't given my full prescription. I think because I informed them that I wouldn't be ordering my frames from the store. I recently had an eye exam at myeyedr in Silver Spring, Maryland. Everyone was so professional and courteous, and took the time to do a quality exam and follow up. The door is locked, and the sign on the door gives you a number to call. An employee quickly unlocked the door, took my temperature, sprayed my hands with sanitizer, and gave me a new mask. I never felt unsafe, and when my new glasses were due to arrive, the staff called to say they would be delayed a couple of days. The reason for the delay was because the staff wasn't happy with the results from the lab, and told them to redo my lenses. My glasses are perfect and feel wonderful. I just had an eye exam with 'DR' higgins, laziest eye exam ive ever experienced, just hilariously bad, got the overall feeling i was just being bilked for my insurance, i guarantee my prescription is wrong. was reading reviews and it appears im not alone. I went here because my previous optometrist had a limited selection of glasses. The exam seemed thorough, although the prices seemed really high. When I complained a few days later, they were kind enough to refund me $100 as a senior discount. HOWEVER I spent the next year (2019-2020) having some problems: watery eyes, stinging tears, poor long vision adjustment, wavery lines peripherally. Because of the long vision adjustment, I decided to return to my previous provider. What I found out was shocking: my prescription was so over-corrected (compared to current glasses, older backup glasses and current eye exam) that my previous optometrist attributed most, if not all of my complaints, to the my eye doctor settings. Don't go there.....they are just in the business of sales, NOT eye health. read more

I saw Dr. Higgins at the Worman's Mill location. 1. She rushed through the exam, didn't even tell me to wash my hands before putting contacts in, I had to ask and her lunch dishes were in the sink! She also tried to tell me that I had not tried a certain type of lens, when Dr. Stern prescribed it 2 years ago. 2. I am a former Allegany Optical patient until Myeyedr took over. They are way overpriced and I never would have come here if I knew the service I was going to get. First they had no frames that my high option vision insurance would cover completely (this has never been a problem in the past). They charged an exorbitant contact fitting fee, which they did not discuss cost prior to my appointment and had the audacity to tel me that they had no idea of knowing I would be categorized as a "premium" fit even though they had my prior prescription in front of them. I have been seeing optometrists since I was a child and this is the first time no one discussed benefits/cost prior to my exam. read more

Very bad customer service at the FSK mall. They will rob you blind. They tell fibs. Make sure you try on your glasses before walking out of the office. I don't know what company they are using to make their lenses but the lenses never come out right. I wish I never changed eye doctors. Now I have to look for a different eye doctor. The staff are fairly pleasant but this is my first time using this location as I usually go to the Hagerstown office. I ordered lenses to be placed in a frame I provided and have now been waiting since Aug 25. I called after waiting approx 3 weeks and was told the lab messed them up and needed to remake them. However, no one called with an update prior to my checking on the status. My husband just ordered his lenses Sun from the Hagerstown office and picked up today (3 days later)! The downside is that this place is very expensive. They aren't pushy for you to buy anything but their items are definitely more expensive than other places and they didn't even offer to show me the frames that were 100% covered by insurance. There is a 10 minute grace period on appointments. I had to call 10 different MyEyeDr. places to get an appointment before leaving for college. I drove an hour and after hitting traffic as well as EVERY. SINGLE. red light, I showed up 3 minutes later than the grace period and they couldn't make an exception. This is for the My Eye Dr Gateway location in Chambersburg. Outstanding service and personal attention! I'd put off getting my eyes examined for a LONG time before Covid and then ended up getting stuck with broken, scratched glasses for way too long. After reading many reviews, I selected this location as I'm new to the area, and I'm really glad I did. Everyone I met- Dr. Sylvester, Rhonda, Katy and Barry- was courteous, professional, and put me at ease. I highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a pleasant eye exam experience. Their selection of frames is impressive, too. I've looked at on-line frames, but with my progressive lenses, it's worth it to me to have in-person fitting and service, and I REALLY recommend Katy and Barry for help with frames selection. I have been a customer of the former Allegheny optical for several years. Always had great service and my experience was pleasant. I would get text messages to notify me that it was that time of the year for an eye check up or eye priscription was ready for pick up. My glasses rx was never anything difficult, just standard glasses for distance only. In November I received my yearly notice. The store has recently changed it's name to MYEYEDR.. I figured, no problem. Same location, same furnture. First thing they tell me is I need a photo of my eye, so the eye Doctor can review it. The photo is not covered by my insurance. The price us $27. Not happy about the hidden cost and the you will get it or we don't see you attitude of the office staff. But what can you do...so I agree. I sit down to a stack of paperwork, basically telling me I'm responsible for everything not covered by insurance. Yes I got that on the first form. It continues. Paperwork completed, I am given a march through exam. Small talk and done. Wait to see the doctor, heavy set woman, walks by snatches my case file walks into the office. My name is yeld, followed by you are?. Goes through the regular exam. Ask if anything is wrong with my vision since the last appointment. My priscription has changed. Eye examination completed, I'm marched to the lobby to pick out a set of frames. I'm told by the salesperson not to worry about the $180 price tag on the frames. The frames are sold at wholesale based on the insurance. I pick a simple frame price is $48. The price of the lenses with mandatory insurance $220. In addition, I have to purchase a secondary set of lenses to fit my old frames. Price $220. Total out of pocket with the exam fully covered and insurance covering a percentage of the lenses for the glasses only, $475.50. Glasses are expensive, but highly necessary. So as painful as it is, I buy them. I receive a text from the office, telling me my glasses are ready for pick up. Wow, only two days since the exam. That's great I thought. So I drive the hour to the office in Chambersburg Pa. . Arrive, wait behind six other customers. I'm ask after 15 minutes what kind of help I needed. Here to pick up my glasses via this text. Ok, the sale person replied, I just need to finish with these customers. Not a problem I replied. Forty five minutes later, my turn. I give the girl at the counter all my info.. After checking several drawers, she goes to the front and after about fifteen minutes, returns to tell me, my glasses are not in and the lenses are not able to be cut to the prescription, that is only done Monday through Friday, during regular work hours. If I had another set of glasses, I could leave the ones I was wearing and they would text me some time next week when the glasses were ready for pick up. I had enough, I told them to cancel the lenses and I would return for the glasses when they were ready. I was told by the salesperson," No". She stated that once they cut the lenses, I can't cancel the purchase. I reminded her that the lenses have not been cut as of yet. I asked what is the best price she could give me on a cheap set of rims. $140 on a set of $180 rims. The same rims that wholesale for $48. She said that is only for insurance coverage purchases not for a regular sale. I told her, even though they have wasted all my time and the text. Nope I would only get a $40 discount on the $180 frames that wholesale for $48. Again I said, cancel the lenses. Again her reply was Nope, they won't do that. So she said I'll go get my manager, fifteen minutes later, the lady at the front stroll in and ask me, what seems to be the problem? . So I ask her, for fifteen minutes she sat there and spoke to her employee and laughed and she had no idea of why she was coming over to me?. She served and stated that they do not give refunds or discounts. I reminded her that her other salesman just gave the lady next to me a %30 discount. She said, well in certain cases , but that does not pertain to me. So I told her that is ok, cancel both the glasses and the second set of lenses. Her response was nope. I informed them that the order is less than 48 hours and I have 30 days to cancel any purchase. The Manager Jen, if it is her real name, tells me that she will not cancel the order. You could imagine the smug look on her face as she sits there with a twisted grin. I merly advise her that I will place a complaint to consumers affairs and a civil lawsuit against her and the business. She smiled and stated , " you may do what ever you'd like. No use arguing with a shoe, I asked for her name. She replies, " Jen and I'm not obligated to give you my last name." I asked for the regional manager name, she replied Jim. His actual name is Josef Davis. At this point I already wasted 4 hours with this office. Not really going to waste anymore time. Needless to say, my family will be going elsewhere. Excellent experience overall. Called in the AM to schedule an eye exam and they were able to see me that afternoon. Friendly & professional ophthalmologist and staff. The exam was fast (under 20 minutes) and since I have decent insurance, I opted to order a new pair of eyeglasses. They cut me a decent deal and didn't pressure me to buy the most expensive frames. The employees here are always very responsive and helpful. They make going through my insurance very easy. Every time I have gotten glasses here, they have come in before the promised date. I have also had to use my glasses insurance twice due to damaging the lenses and the turn around time was a week or less. I highly recommend this business. read more
