Using my husband's account to post. I went to Visionworks in Franklin last week for sunglasses and eye glasses. The gentleman that helped me pick out my frames was a great help. He put the frames aside for me so that when I went back for my eye exam, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr Johnson, my glasses were all set to be ordered. Dr Johnson was honestly the most thorough with her exam, and I have been to both Optometrists and Ophthalmologists for eye exams, she beat them all. Bad experience. Avoid Visionworks in Franklin MA. Originally went for an eye exam, contacts, and glasses. Contacts were correct but my prescription for my glasses was wrong. They had the prescription for my right eye and left eye listed incorrectly. They were switched. Brought it to the associate's attention who stated that the doctor was with another customer, but she would fix the error. I came back for my second visit to pick up my glasses and sure enough they were made with the incorrect prescription, switched. I brought the error up again to a new associate. He stated that the doctor was booked, and I'd have to come back at a later date. I took the glasses and left. I'll get the glasses switched to the correct eye somewhere else. I loved the Optometrist I saw last year, and the staff was friendly. I am a little upset right now with them though. I had a scheduled appointment for today in my calendar, and they no longer had it in theirs. I assume it was cancelled during the Covid shutdown, but was never notified. The soonest available appointment is over a month out. I am a teacher and specifically schedule my appointments for the Summer. Frustrated. read more

They suck. Women at the front desk are rude, condescending and just bitchy. Had to go back a second time because the didn't get my prescription right the first time. Back a third time because they did not fit right. Back a fourth time because they were just too damn big. Something they should have known right from the beginning. Their selections sucks. I've seen better at Walmart and BJ's. I will never ever use another visionWorks again. I hope they go out of business. read more

Vision works is like the McDonald's of eyecare. Lousy service, lousy product, but usually busy because they are conveniently located. EVERYTHING is an upcharge, they never honor the deals they have plastered all over the place. Not sure why I go back here. But after my latest visit I never will again, nor should you. Whoever answers the phone needs severe customer service training! I have called numerous times regarding my appointment and that was all messed up. A very unfriendly young lady who shouldn't be on the phones! She claimed someone called to cancel but no one did. Now my glasses that I need for driving are in and I can't get an appointment until Thursday because it is by appointment only. I have been a loyal customer for over three years but will be taking my business elsewhere. The doctor was great but the sales people not so good at explaining the costs out of pocket and I felt very rushed. No longer a loyal customer. Just need my glasses! read more

They are horrible because they only care about a profit plus they try to upsell you on glasses. My wife and I are called them to cancel an appointment and what do they do they still scheduled it. This happened twice to us! I was going to Visionworks for years. I'm very disappointed with them so I do not recommend this place what's the weather. They only care about making money not about the people that going to get their eye care. I was going to a vision care in Framingham I had a good rapport with them so I decided since I live in Milford I would go to this Franklin store and they suck so stay away from them. Framingham vision works beware! I called because I got an email saying they canceled my appt for Sunday and rescheduled it to Monday. I explained it to 'Andrew' and he said they didn't send it. I said it says visionworks and canceled my Sunday and moved to Monday. I can't do Monday reason I did Sunday. He proceeds to tell me he has me on Sunday morning not Monday. I said ok I don't want to drive all the way and my appt is canceled. It specifically states you rescheduled me. I don't want to be charged for not showing on Sunday then. He had got really snippy with me and said we don't have control over that. It's a third party that sends that out and we don't have a solution for it. Ohhhh so now you're telling me this is an ongoing issue but couldn't have told me that up front so I wasn't nervous about them canceling? Solution is to get rid of that third party!! Four days later I'm at work and phone ringing 3:30 pm on Friday. It's visionworks. Same dude Andrew telling me if I don't get my insurance info to him by 5 they would cancel my appt. You kidding me? You give me 1.5 hours notice? I don't have that with me and our HR is off. Telling me when he looks it up it's inactivated. I said it is not inactive I just used it. Put it under my health plan then. States that's inactive. Says he will cancel my appt cause the third party they use isn't open on weekends. I said you need to call them it is active. He said no it's pulling on my screen I will cancel. I said well, I'll pay cash then and get reimbursed what's the cost?. Never had been given that option. He was so rude I finally asked his name and canceled my appt. Don't step foot in there if he still works there!! Rude rude rude and all was their fault. My insurances are active. He needs customer service skills or better training!! read more

im honestly shocked their rating is so high. ive never had a fast experience here. the doctors are nice, but ordering contacts/glasses is a nightmare. i switched over to this place as it is closer to where i live now & been going here for 4 years. im not joking when i say it takes over a month to get my contacts every. time. i order them. ive also received the wrong product in the past. its always something. my last experience really set me over the edge & i wont be coming back here. i ordered contacts over the phone (3 months ago!!!) & the lady kindly asked if i wanted them delivered to my house. sure! thats awesome i thought, knowing i have an issue every time i order them. gave her my address & paid. she told me 7-10 days, which is quicker than normal. they usually say up to 14 days. awesome. i was wearing my glasses while i waited for them to come in, no biggie. 3 weeks go by.. no call, no contacts in the mail. decided to give them a call & see whats up. theyre on back order. ok thats not their fault, no problem. asked for a pair of contacts to wear in the meantime, they agreed, i went & picked them up. fast forward to today, im looking at old pictures & see one of me wearing my glasses & i think, "holy crap i never got the contacts i ordered!" it slipped my mind because i had the pair i picked up that i am using. i call them & tell them the situation & she says they have them. i never got a call? & remember they said they were delivering them???? the lady didnt even care, but i didnt make a big deal out of it. its just SO annoying. i shouldnt have to jump through hoops to get something i paid for upfront. i ordered them in july & it is now october 1st read more

Franklin visionworks is a great place to get glasses.The front desk staff that check you in and check your insurance are very friendly . The opticians there were very knowledgeable about what frames and lenses would work best with my prescription. I got a penguin frame and high definition progressive lenses which are the best I have used.I also get lots of compliments on my frames. I would recommended my friends shop here to. read more

I took my daughter to look for frames at 6:15. They closed at 7:00. The woman who waited on us asked why we were there. I said we were looking for frames and she immediately looked at her watch with a sour face. I let this slide. She then continued to be so rude that I finally snapped and told her she was very unprofessional and rude and that we would be going to Target for our glasses. I suggest you do too. We bought a pair there before 7:00pm. Step up your game vision works. You have lost my business forever. SHAMEFUL!! read more

The Optometrist here is miserable. I would never go back! Miserable and rude! Tried to make conversation. Nothing. Struggled with the lenses seriously fogging up because of my mask and she was miserable. Overall really bad experience. read more

I would have used Visionworks Franklin but they don't do the insurance discount directly it's up to the customer to call their insurance for reimbursement. They had a great selection of frames to pick from. read more

I actually had quite a pleasant experience for my first time here at VisionWorks. Upon arriving I was greeted by the friendly staff who welcomed me in to wait for my exam. This place is clean, tidy and beautiful! Very nice atmosphere. While I was waiting my turn for the eye exam, Allyson, a staff member asked if I would like to look at frames while I waited. She was extremely helpful to me giving me some choices that would best fit my face and some color options. My exam was so comprehensive and I felt this was explained to me honestly and candid. The doctor, Dr. Cohen, really made my experience a good one. Allyson was by far one of the best customer service individuals I've encountered. I value that very much in today's age where most people rush a customer or seem disinterested in their job. She was beyond helpful and I recommend her to anyone who visits this place. You're sure to have a good, if not great, experience like I did. read more

Awful customer service. Called with a question and the woman on the phone cut me off mid-sentence and and began being stern and rude with me and ultimately ended up hanging up on me because I didn't understand what she was saying. Very rude. Wouldn't recommend going there. read more

This review is for Megan, I heard she's the GM, but she helped me a the Franklin store. Megan went REALLY above and beyond and wanted to make sure to write this review: I've worked in eye glass places before and am extremely particular about what I get. I really wanted RX Ray Bans sunglasses and the frames were not available in my area, however I had done my research and knew everything they needed. I knew the frame they had and that it fit, I had my new Rx, my pd, knew how thick they would be, what lens I wanted etc. The tricky part is that I could not go there in person! Having seen the previous reviews here and other visionworks in my area was really scared to try and do this purchase over the phone. I called, they let me speak with Megan, who confirmed they have the frame, I faxed over my info, gave her my credit card information. She told me when they'd be ready, they were shipped for free at my local visionworks. I was able to keep the original plano lenses of the Ray Bans which is the main reason I wanted that frame, and she also mailed my receipt and copy of rx over. I picked them up and they were gorgeous and the best made rx glasses I have ever had! And I have a very strong complicated Rx!! When I picked them up, of course the person at the Quincy location (the pretty blond lady who is rude to everyone) of course didn't want to adjust them at all, but I was able to go to someone in Braintree and she did an excellent job. One hint to Visionworks: please get Rx high index lenses for those of us with strong Rx that want the big frames. And please, provide the training and pay to your employees similar to Megan so they can all have outstanding customer service like she. Thanks! read more

This company is UNETHICAL. They are using the pandemic to profit by forcing customers to purchase frames. They will only sell lenses with the purchase of new frames. They also told me in a few weeks they will accept customers frames to put in new lenses, but they will be shipped to Texas and will take 4 weeks. Who can go for 4 weeks without glasses? Again forcing you to buy frames you don't need. They should be ashamed of themselves for using an emergency situation for their own profit. read more

I usually get my glasses at Visionworks in Franklin, Ma. I just picked up my new pair today and couldn't say enough about Robert Krause. I went to Visionworks just to see what they offered. What I found was a monostyle throughout the store. There is no variety in their frames they have different "designers" but the frames all look alike. I am just too used to doing eyeglasses that are different and afford me a degree of individuality. On top of this they don't offer a variety of lenses. They offer a lens for a purpose but it might not be what you really require. Needless to say I did not stay nor did I purchase anything there. read more

I went in this evening to finally update my prescription and get new glasses. The experience was, in a single word, terrific! A couple days ago, my partner called and set up an appointment, conveniently after work, to have my eyes examined. We arrived a couple minutes early, and were pleasantly greeted as we walked in. Allyson directed us to the counter as our paperwork was collected. A quick form and I was in with Dr. Johnson. I don't think I waited at all, it was maybe 10 minutes from door to doctor. My experience with Dr. Margaret Johnson was wonderful. She explained everything she was doing and why it was important. She was very professional and thorough. Also, Dr. Johnson is a joy, and easy to talk to, maybe one of the most pleasant visits with a doctor I've ever had. I opted to pay a little extra to have photos taken of the rear of my eyes. Impressive new tech, no dilated pupils. She went over them in great detail. Since I've been neglecting my eyes, it was reassuring to know they are ok. Thank you Dr. Johnson. From there, we started picking frames. They have a wide selection to choose from. Allyson helped us out. It was kind of amazing. She walked over, picked a single pair from the hundreds on the wall, and they were perfect. The ones I would have chosen after hours of trying them all on, and she grabbed them, first shot. Thank you Allyson. Robert finished things off. He took some final measurements and helped me pick options for the lenses. He made some good recommendations for coatings. After a lifetime in glasses, just had my first VisionWorks visit. It will not be my last! All associates were friendly and asked if I needed assistance, but I was waiting for Allyson -- and she was worth the wait! Not only did she help me choose frames, but she explained which ones would work best with my prescription and researched a Transitions lens option for me, as well. Allyson was with another customer when I picked up, but saw me enter and let another know I was there, then came by to see my new look. I'm happy to report that not only do I LOVE the glasses, price and service, but I'm able to write this with my progressives on, which I haven't done in quite a while. read more

After trying to order new contacts online i discovered I had not seen the eye doctor in 2 years. When i called to schedule an appointment with Visionworks they were able to get me an appointment (based on my schedule) within days. I called to apologize to them as I was held up at work and was not going to make my appointment. I asked for the next available appointment because I only had 1 contact in my right eye. The next appointment was 3 days later...BUT the woman called me back and told me she has a contact she can hold for me in my current script so i was not without a contact. Being in Customer Service myself, this truly was great service! Visionworks went above and beyond to truly help me out. They truly put me first! This goes a long way for me! read more

The staff here is polite and knowledgeable. What I had an issue with was the quality of my glasses. I ordered half frames. Without a full frame to encircle the lens and serve as template their final shape relies on the skill of the crafts person making them. Mine seemed crooked even after the in-store tech adjustments. Upon later, closer examination I saw that one lens was slightly larger and differently shaped than the other. Also noted a tiny chip. Defects not obvious to casual observer so I won't return and try again. I guess $850 doesn't get you much nowadays. Perhaps I'll go elsewhere next time. read more

Before you go here for contacts consider this: Had an appointment in October 2015, received first ever contacts in November 2015, Purchases the brand that they recommended in December 2015. Purchased 12 pairs. Had a problem with one set and then a second problem with a second set in April 2016. Company has a 6 month policy that if there is a problem with the prescription you can go back and have a change in contact brand. But, they are spitting hairs on the dates saying that the start date would be October, not the time we received the contacts in December, and we would have to pay for a new full check up. Good job Vision Works, squeeze every last penny out of your customers. read more

My wife and I have been buying our glasses for several years at the Franklin store. I have always found everyone to be very helpful and if we had any issues with any frames or lenses they never had an issue repairing or replacing the glasses. I would highly recommend Visionworks. read more
