Dr Johnson was honestly the most thorough with her exam, and I have been to both Optometrists and Ophthalmologists for eye exams, she beat them all. They had the prescription for my right eye and left eye listed incorrectly. They were switched. Brought it to the associate's attention who stated that the doctor was with another customer, but she would fix the error. I came back for my second visit to pick up my glasses and sure enough they were made with the incorrect prescription, switched. I brought the error up again to a new associate. He stated that the doctor was booked, and I'd have to come back at a later date. I took the glasses and left. I'll get the glasses switched to the correct eye somewhere else. Never going back.

It's so easy to make my appointments online and the times have always been honored and I've never had to wait. Dr. Rice is the best eye doctor I've been to. She's knowledgeable, thorough, kind, friendly, and overall is a dream to work with. She takes the time to go over my questions and explain exactly what is happening during the exam. I can not recommend this office enough- between the friendly staff and excellent doctors you will be treated very well!

BJ's Optical has declined quite a bit over the 10 years that I have been coming here. My main…read morequalms are: 1. The hours for BJ's Optical hours are different from BJ's business hours. BJ's Optical opens at 10 am and closes between 4 and 8 pm depending on the day, which is completely inconvenient if you have a job. There have even been times where I have come into the store during the listed business hours only to find a sign saying that they are closed today. 2. BJ's Optical no longer takes COD orders for contacts on the phone, which was incredibly helpful since it's hours are rubbish. Even if you are willing to give your credit card information over the phone, they will not accept it. You have to go in. 3. The most of the staff that work here are lackluster and one lady who works here is rude. A year or so ago, I tried to reach BJ's optical about 1 week before my contact prescription expired. I called repeatedly and by the time my many phone calls were returned, it was the day after my prescription expired. I received no apology and had to schedule (and pay for) another eye exam before I was able to reorder. Overall, if you value saving $20 on every contact order that you place then BJ's Optical is fine. If you value a hassle-free customer-focused experience, I would go elsewhere.

He is by far the single most trusted eye doc, I have worked with period. His knowledge is simply amazing, and despite my continual questions, he patiently answers them all. He also has the ability to view my digital pictures back year-over-year to track the progression of my eyes. If I could give 0 stars I would, but I can't…read more I called last week and asked for an appt and they said they had one available today for 1:00 so I took it thinking it would be perfect and I could go on my lunch break. They said I would have to fill out some paperwork so I decided to go early. I arrived at 12:45 and the woman told me to sit down in the waiting area and she would bring me my paperwork to fill out. There was only one other woman in the waiting room with her child and she seemed a little pissed off but I couldnt tell why, until she walked up to the counter and asked when she was going to be seen since her appointment was at 12:30 and it was now 1:00. The woman said "We are a little bit behind because we never know how long someones appointment is going to take." Which in my personal opinion is a bullshit excuse. So whatever, I tried not to pay any attention to it and just kept reading my book, then I realized it was 1:15.... still no paperwork... the other woman finally gets called by someone to go into the office for her appt. 1:30 rolls around... no paperwork. I was thinking that maybe they were busy and I didn't want to be a pain by asking for it because the woman who told me she would bring it to me walked by me numerous times. I don't think she was one of the dr's because she was the only one without the white coat, I assume she was the receptionist, not a very good one if you ask me. Anyways... 1:40 finally rolls around and someone walks by and says, "Are you waiting for someone?" and I said "Yeah actually Ive been waiting for my paperwork since 12:45" and she said "I'll get that for you right now" and I said "no thank you, I'm actually going to go because I made a 1:00 appt so I could come here on my lunch break and my lunch break is over and I still havent been helped" and she said "well do you need a lunch break appt or could you come on a saturday?" and I said "I needed a lunch break appt because I live 45 minutes away and to be honest, I will not be coming back here, this was my first time coming and it did not make a good impression so I'm going to find somewhere else to take my business" and she said sorry. I tried to be as pleasant as possible considering the situation because the woman I was talking to was one of the Dr's and not the idiot who checked me in and never brought my paperwork. But if this is how your business is run why on earth would I come back? As for going up and asking them for my paperwork, not my job. I was told to sit in the waiting room and I would be brought my paperwork. I am not going to go up and ask for it and seem impatient if they were in fact busy. I heard plenty of conversations in regards to what gym the receptionist should join or even the crazy stuff she did this weekend, I figured it only had to be a matter of time before I got my paperwork. I was very wrong. So in this one visit I have learned that I will NEVER EVER go back there and I can tell I am not the only unhappy person considering how pissed off the other woman in the waiting room was. I wish I could give 0 stars. I really hate giving negative reviews and I try to go to a place/restaurant at least twice to give it another chance but I will never go back here and will make sure to spread the word to all my co workers to go somewhere else.

It's not a huge shop, but they have a great selection of frames. Classic? Trendy? They have them all. They're really good about letting you try on every pair of frames in the place. 10 times each. And being that I'm one of the least decisive people in the world, they're good at giving opinions on how the frames look with your face, and don't mind when you have it narrowed down to 2 choices, and just keep standing there going back and forth trying to make up your mind. Now, being a customer for as long as I have, and because one of the owners lives in the town where I grew up, and has a son who used to play basketball with my brother, I've gotten to know Tom. He's a great guy (Joseph and Kristina are nice, too, I just know Tom better). There have been a couple times where I had it narrowed down to 2 pairs of frames and couldn't decide. Because of all that history, or maybe it's just how they operate, he let me take both pairs of frames home with me to get the opinion of family and friends before purchasing. That's one of my favorite things about this place. Saved me from making the wrong decision a couple of times. Something happen that your glasses got all out of whack? Walk on in, and they'll adjust them for you. The personal attention and friendly attitude of all who work here really makes this place a gem. I've been wearing contacts for years, so I don't get new glasses as often as I would if I wore them daily. I've also moved out of the Milford area. But when it's time for me to get new glasses, I always go back to Joseph and Thomas.

Ten years is a long time and I could not recall the name of the business, so I went to Yelp and found the name. I also found only one comment and it was one star. I could not believe it. After ten years, I walked in with my glasses and the "blank lenses" that I was told to save ten years ago so that my prescription could be made without me giving up my glasses. Cheryl remembered me after ten years. She was glad I remembered her suggestion to save the blank lenses. Cheryl recommended a different method for the prescription on the lenses and I agreed. A week later, my new lenses arrived, Cheryl installed them and I was very happy with the new lenses. I used to wear contacts 90% of the time, but with my new job and different prescription, I'd be wearing glasses more and more, including driving to and from work. So, I needed prescription sun glasses. I was not looking forward to the added expense and frankly, I really just like my vintage frames. Ordinary one size fits all clip-on were not an option. Cheryl had the perfect solution. A company she represents makes custom tinted lenses that click onto your existing lenses with the help of two tiny magnets. It's brilliant. It was also a lot less money than new prescription sunglasses. I've been to many shops that sell glasses and Different Frames of Mind was the only one that never tried to up-sell me out of my favorite frames and the only one that found a perfect solution to my sunglasses dilemma.
