I ordered two pairs of glasses two weeks ago, one of which was supposed to be sunglasses. When I picked them up, I noticed there were multiple mistakes--the sunglasses were made as regular glasses, and the frame was not the one I selected. What made the situation worse was the staff member's attitude. She was extremely rude and disrespectful. When she realized the errors, she did not offer any explanation or apology and instead blamed the lab, saying there was nothing she could do. I have been a customer at this store for four years, and she is by far the most unprofessional and unpleasant person I have encountered there. While another staff member was helping resolve the issue, she was complaining in the storage room. Overall, it was a very disappointing and unpleasant experience. read more

Made an appointment here for a contacts class, showed up for my appointment and was told that someone had called earlier and left a message that they had to reschedule. I received no calls and no voice messages but did receive the automated email yesterday AND this morning reminding me of my appointment. I like how the manager made it seem like it was my fault for showing up when from her demeanor it was clear that she failed to notify me. They said they didn't take my insurance and that it wasn't valid. I did some research and found out they did and came in asking about it. They told me to call corporate bc they couldn't do anything about it from their end. They didn't try, because when I was on the phone with corporate they looked me up immediately and told me that the people there probably didn't know what they were doing. The lady on the phone told me to come back and give them my reference number so I could get my refund. And that if there was any issues I could call them when I was there. The employees refused to call. They all were giving attitude except for the one male (the only one that was nice to me and respected me). The lady at the counter kept looking at me like I was dumb, gave me attitude, and did not really want to help. She went over to her supervisor who has been unprofessional since I walked in there a couple years ago. Everyone who works there seems miserable and treats a lot of people like shit. This will definitely be my last visit to Visionworks! It was a real 3 strikes and you're out for me. I've had 2 other less than desirable experiences here (I wrote about the first) and this is the final. My son scheduled a follow-up visit to get glasses. We took the drive there and when we arrived busied ourselves looking at frames while the associates were waiting on other clients. When our time came, we gave the rep the frames we were interested in as well as the Rx. We asked about a turn around time as well as the coverage. The rep pulled up my son's information, went over all the benefits with enthusiasm, really selling why getting glasses there was such a benefit to us. Then, he tells my son what the cost would be. We were a little confused..."Is that WITH insurance?" He asked. The response was "No. The insurance only covers your eye exam. It doesn't cover the cost of frames or prescription." We're like, WHAT?? Who only covers one aspect and not the other?? And why wasn't this made clear to us when we came there initially and had the unfortunate incident of being told an eye exam AND contact lenses would be one price, only to get there, have the exam and find out that the eye exam and contact lens EVALUATION was one price and contacts were additional??! Vision works is NOT forthcoming in anything they've offered us. There is ZERO transparency. It feels like a classic bait and switch; we'll tell you only what's necessary to get you here, then everything else once you've committed. I don't like this sort of disingenuousness. Life happens and I have had to reschedule my appointment due to conflicts in schedule. I'm finally in route to my appointment but because I scheduled with a different location I was late for my scheduled appointment (forgetting I wasn't at my normal location) that I was finally able to potentially make. I arrive, apologized, and shared that I was late for my appointment. The service rep, 'You're appointment was at... and shared she had to ask the doctor. I said your sign says 'we accept walk ins' to which she replies it is at the discretion of the doctor. She comes back and tells me 'Yeah, we are going to have to reschedule you.' I shared that I would go to my normal location to reschedule. I totally get me being late. I take that. My concern is having a sign that's not true. Vision Works take the 'Time for your annual eye exam? Walks-in available' sign down if it doesn't apply. I'm not even concerned with how the rep responded. People have good and bad days. These folks are the first store to open in the new Quarry Center on Township Line road. I recently purchased a new pair of glasses elsewhere so I'm not in the market right now. However, as a supporter of all things Havertown, I stopped in to check these guys out. My usual spot for glasses is the Lenscrafters in Springfield. Of course, parking is a breeze. As you might expect, as this is their Grand Opening, everything is bright and new and well stocked. The level of choices looks great. Overall they seem cheaper than my Lenscrafters. When I next need a new pair I'll need to dig more deeply into their quality and services but they are definitely worth a look. Right now the Grand Opening special is 2 for 1 and it appears everything is included. Not bad! read more

Two words: Just don't. Don't consider this place at all. I brought my little daughter here for glasses and bought two pairs. Since the girl is plays outside a lot, only two months passed before both pairs we're broken. I brought them in to get replaced, and since I'd already paid for replacement insurance, imagine my surprise when they told me ...oh, the insurance doesn't replace the glasses, you just get a discount on new ones. What? That was NOT what I was told when I PAiD for insurance, but nevertheless, I paid the balance and ordered the glasses only to have them forget to ship the glasses and I had to keep calling for weeks to find out where the glasses were - these glasses were for a school-age CHILD and no one cared! Beware of the Langhorne PA store. If you need an emergency visit this is not the place for you. I recently set-up a routine eye appointment for mid August. Since scheduling the appointment I noticed a dramatic increase in floaters in my right eye. I followed the advice on their website which stated to call the office if an unexpected increase in floaters was noticed for an immediate appointment as this could be a sign of a serious condition. Upon calling the office and explaining my situation their response was an unconcerned we have no appointments. I've used Visionworks for several years but this experience has shown me that they are not a place to associate your self with if you may have a future medical issue. I went to the Drexel Hill Quarry location at the end of August. After I looked around for a few minutes, a young man asked if he could help. I showed him my current glasses and said I was looking for similar frames that had wide temples. He said "We don't have many, but you can look around the whole store and see if you can find a pair." I said "You know your inventory better than I do. Can you locate some for me ?" He said "No, they are all mixed in. You will just need to look around the store and see if you can find any." Wish I could leave a 0 star. I just went in with my mother, and the lady who greeted us was one of the rudest people I've ever met. We are people who understand and follow guidelines, however I am confused on their "one person policy". When I asked "even if we live together" (because I was honestly shocked) the woman rudely replied "uhm YES". I have had the same prescription for a few years. My prescription is fine, I just needed a new script to order more contacts. The optometrist in Havertown said I was "over prescribed". She lowered my prescription. I bought contacts and new glasses there. After waiting 2 wks for them to come in, I picked them up. The first day wearing the glasses, I cannot read street signs from a distance. Same thing with the contacts. I'm squinting to see!! I went back to Visionworks and the optometrist wasn't in so I could not get the right prescription. I had to make an appointment for 2 wks later. My appt is today and I'm sick, I can't go. Calling their number is impossible! I just want to talk to the optometrist but I can't go through! I've been on hold for 30 min and all I get is a recording! I am never going here again! Just had the absolute worst experience at Visionworks Quarry Center. I had a 3:20pm appointment. I walked in, gave my name, they said I was all checked in and the doctor would call me soon. They seemed very busy and were talking about having some new system so I patiently waited for AN HOUR. Until someone asked if I was waiting to purchase glasses. I said no I'm still waiting for my eye exam, my appointment was an hour ago. She says she's sorry no one told her I was here and she didn't have record of me being checked in. She takes me back to do my screening right away and apologizes. I told her I just couldn't wait much longer because I had to get home to feed my newborn. She says she understands shes so sorry and she would be mad if she were me. The doctor comes out and she tells him he has one more appointment. Informs him that I've been waiting for over an hour and that I'm in a hurry. At 5:15 when the doctor STILL HADN'T SEEN ME. I call my husband to ask if the baby is awake and if he thinks I should just leave. Another associate thought I was speaking to her when I said "should I just leave" and was very snarky and said "you can if you want." I hung up with my husband and said to her I have been waiting for 2 hours and I need to get home and feed my baby. She said "then I guess you should leave and we can reschedule you as soon as possible." At which point I tossed the glasses I had already picked out onto her desk and walked out. We had a very good experience today at this Visionworks in search of new glasses. We were worried after reading some of the negative reviews, but we decided to go anyway. We were greeted by Mike who stayed with us and was very attentive. I should add that the glasses were for my mom who's frail and almost 98 years old. She sat on her walker while Mike went around the store to offer her various options. He explained everything to us, and my mom was pleased. The store was not crowded, so perhaps some of the previous reviewers were there at a high volume time. When we return in 2 weeks to pick up the glasses, I'm hoping that she/we get the same level of service. read more

This place has to be THE WORST eyeglass establishment I've ever been to. I've been here 3 times since June and still don't have glasses. Only a portion of the staff seem to know how to navigate insurance measures. They're always either understaffed, too busy to assist you, or both. I want to take time to send a special shout out and thank you to both Ms. Shari and Mr. Jeffrey! Both of them have been at this store since I have been getting glasses. They know both my husband and me by name and face when we walk in. This was my first year without vision insurance. When I called to schedule my eye exam he was sure to tell me about the sale (and its end date) over the phone. When I came to the store I was greeted right away by Ms Shari, as if I was an old friend. Mr Jeffrey took the time to review my choices and helped me talk through which would be the most cost effective 'bang for our buck' so to speak. I ended up leaving with two pairs of glasses and a pair of rx sunglasses for just SLIGHTLY more than I paid for 1 full pair and a set of replacement lenses last year!!! These two are the heart of the Havertown/TownshipLine Location! DO NOT LET THEM GO!!! I have also worked with Dom for fitting and readjustments for my glasses, he is also great! Arrived at the store only to be told that they did not have an appointment for me because their "hard drives" crashed. This was right before they told me that the exam was done remotely anyhow. Extremely poor customer service. I told my husband of the experience in Havertown and he had the exact same experience at Springfield. Clearly there is a training opportunity here. I had my my exam, which was on time and efficient. Dr. Sandra Juhn was delightful. She told me to take a seat at the front table and someone would be with me. 30 minutes later I asked for my prescription and walked out. Couple things to note: In an open floor environment it might be wise to NOT do the following.... 1. Stand as a group at the front desk and bad mouth customers 2. While on the phone make faces, roll eyes and sigh...while a customer is sitting right in front of you 3. Ask a co-worker to handle the customer sitting there (for 30 minutes) and the response be "can't you do it"...and when that answer is no, a LOUD sigh and "I guess I have to" should really not be what the customer hears. (that is when I walked out) This type of service is fixable - not sure if there is a supervisor on duty at all times, but there should be. After a long day all I wanted was my eyes checked to get new contacts. I don't care if it was a "busy" time. Sufficient staff should be scheduled to handle the customers. It will always get busy. I started going to vision works a few years back and I just want to say there's NO LOCATION as good as this one. Havertown vision works was booked for eye exams so I made an appointment at Radnor's location ..horrible...all the staff look like they're on drugs..I've worn the same brand of contacts since 2014 after leaving Radnor I was in a different brand of contacts, although I requested to keep my same brand. I went into the City Line Ave location to buy contacts a few weeks later and since Radnor gave me a trial pair, I could not buy contacts. I bitched about it and went back to my home location at Havertown. They called Radnor got the prescription, checked my eyes. I told them about how I wanted to go back to my normal brand. Lakia and Lystra talked to the doctor, called and left me a voicemail saying it would be okay for me to go back to my normal brand. THEY WENT ABOVE ANS BEYOND. I will NEVER make the mistake of going to another location again. read more

Made appt. For exam. Showed up 10-15 minutes early and checked in and looked at frames. The exam was ten minutes late in starting but that wasn't a problem. The 'optician' did exam and Gave me a prescription. I picked out two frames and brought a pair to have new prescription put in. They had a deal wherein the am was free. Well the free examine wasn't free. Although they advertised it they claimed the offer ended the dày before. I balked since I took the FIRST EXAM available. Now the frames I brought was also a problem and they were gauging me. A customer also trying to pay was complaining that the price for her reading glasses were higher than the price the salesperon quoted. Now, I tell them that I will pay for exam and want a precription and would go elsewhere for frames and lenses. When I had prescription filled elsewhere I went to pick up my new glasses and had lenses put in a frame mentioned above. The prescription rendered me unable to see. The person at store checked the prescription and even called (VW) and confirmed the prescription. I called VW and went to store. They were jerks, unwilling to "refract" my eyes. One person said, "it's possible you need an Opthamologist. DISMISSED ME and I went to Opthamologist and nothing other than a refraction was needed and the VW EXAM and prescription was wrong. Absolutely TERRIBLE! It took me 2 plus weeks for an appointment. I get to my appointment for them to tell me that the doctor had already left for the day and they will have to reschedule!! I recieved a text asking if I can make my appointment I responded back with Y. I received email with paperwork to fill out which I did. The lady tells me we called friday to see if you could reschedule. They did not speak with me so why would they just assume it was ok to cancel especially after I recieved my text and email yesterday (Monday) that I was going to make my 5pm Tuesday appointment. I had to leave work early as well as my husband for him to pick up our son. So now we both lost money because the doctor apparently only works until 3pm. Why have retail hours if you cant service people with Jobs?! I am so upset and usually Never ever leave reviews but this is just absolutely ridiculous. For people who complain...don't bring three or four of your kids with you while you try to get help from these workers; it distracts EVERYONE including other customers.. I had a very disappointing and discouraging experiencing at my first time visiting the Visionworks in Havertown. I'd always gone to America's Best but thought it would be a good idea to go somewhere new. That was my first mistake. The saleswoman at the front desk was very condescending to her staff which made me very unsettled and the actual exam only lasted 10 minutes versus 20 to 30 minutes at America's Best as well as only offering to sell me contacts in huge expensive bundles. I'm not saying that America's best is the best place to go but if you're going there for a thorough eye exam and simply to receive eye contact, then I would be recommend looking elsewhere. I was super impressed by my recent visit to get an eye exam and then purchase glasses from Visionworks! In the past, I've used two other eyeglass chains but this place blew both out of the water! First, the eye exam. Dr. Nguyn was friendly and very professional. I feel she gave me the most thorough exam I've ever had. She also gave me the advice to begin using liquid tears which would help even more improving my sight. After that, it was time to pick out my glasses. The staff were not only friendly but really seemed to enjoy their jobs. They took their time as I chose my frames and then helped me pick out regular lenses and a set of transition lenses. Today, I picked them up. The young lady who helped me out (I should have gotten her name) was so cheerful that it was contagious. She wasn't happy until I was happy with the fit of the frames. All in all, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience from start to finish. Everyone was fanatical about observing all the COVID safety measures with masks, hand sanitizer, and even sanitizing the frames I tried on before putting them back on display. I highly recommend the Havertown Quarry Visionworks and will continue to patronize them and recommend them to anyone looking for an eye exam and/or eyeglass purchase! read more

My daughter had an appointment on Thursday . The doctor called out due to snow and they never called to let us know so we dug out and went to the appointment. We were rescheduled for today, waited 30 minutes, were taken to the back for the exam and then told that she could not be seen today because they left me a message about insurance and since I did not respond they were not sure we were coming so now the doctor cannot see her. WHAT? Then as we are pulling up at home the doctor calls to say he had a cancellation and he can see us now. I was understanding in the beginning but this is unacceptable. I ordered 2 pair of glasses. When i picked them up and tried them on it felt like I was putting someones else's glasses on. I could not see distance, and they had bifocal transition n it looked like i was looking through a mag glass. I asked for my money back but the rep gave all these excuses, and wanted me to question the prescription w my neurosurgeon ophthalmologist. They just wouldnt admit they did something wrong. I asked to speak to manager and looked at them and said this is too high (meaning the bifocal) and gave me my money back. I ran out of there and will NEVER go back! I placed an order for a pair of glasses. I selected Visionworks because, with respect to multiple previous orders, I had been completely satisfied with the quality of the customer service and the glasses that I received. Visionworks, by far, has done the best work on progressive lenses that I have used. Because of previous experiences with the discomfort of nose pads, I deliberately chose frames - as I have in multiple previous orders - that did not include these. In fact, in the course of the write-up of the order, I commented to the clerk how happy I was to find wonderful frames that did not include these. The glasses that arrived had nose pads. I accepted them with the hope that I could adjust to them. Unfortunately, after two days, my nose ache led to a severe headache, and I simply could not wear the glasses anymore. I made an appointment to visit the store to request that the nose pads be removed. The person who spoke with me (who stated that he was a store manager) did not allow me to finish even one sentence when I attempted to explain my concern before he interrupted me and continued to talk at the same time as me. He also dismissed my concern and refused to even attempt to repair the glasses. I have rarely encountered this level of condescension from a clerk, particularly someone associated with health care services. The date of this visit was Saturday, July 24. He assured me that, as soon as the store opened on Monday, July 26, the sales manager - who had coordinated my order - would call me to discuss how the error occurred and how the situation could be resolved. It is now Tuesday, August 11, and I have received neither a call nor a voice mail nor an e-mail from her or from anyone else associated with the store. I have attempted to convey my concerns with the options on the visionworks.com web site. The chat bot has assured me on two separate occasions that someone would contact me within 48 hours, but no one has. Additionally, no one has answered my e-mail to Visionworks Customer Service. What I want is simple: I want the frames that I selected, without the nose pads, so that I can wear the glasses without pain. Is that really too much to ask in return for my combined insurance and out-of-pocket payment of several hundred dollars? read more
