I have had several pairs of glasses in the last ten years that I have not worn due to headaches and not being right so I've been wearing the same pair for ten years. So it was time to get a new pair. I tried at my optometrist but their selection was so small. I went to Visionworks and discussed my concerns. The team was awesome and knowledgeable. Plus the selection was great. To start, the selection of glasses at this location is very poor. The quality is not good. That is a minor detail, the major problem is that requested to get an appointment in a month. I have run out of contacts and ask for my prescription to be renewed for a one month supply while I wait for my appointment. I was refused. It doesn't seem necessary much less legal to leave your patients unable to see without an active prescription while they wait for their appointment. I HIGHLY recommended going around the corner to Spectacle. They are much more professional and care about their patients. read more

I had canceled my appointment here due to the staff's harassment over an appointment I had already confirmed. They called me FOUR times back to back after already calling and texting days before. So unnecessary and rude. Once answered the woman spoke to me as if I didn't know how vision exams and billing worked. Terrible customer service. My Rx was quite different from my previous. The doctor commented on it. I had glasses made and they are very strong, feeling of putting on someone else's glasses. I felt dizzy and strange. I went back to have the prescription re-checked, and I was asked to please wear them more, and I should give it time to get used to progressives. I let them know I have worn progressives for over 15 years. They stated they did not have a doctor in that day and to please give them more time. By the time I could get back in it was past their "100" day free re-exam. The manager stated that it was against their policy to do an exam for free. I have been in management for over 20 years, and I do have the purview to grant one-offs. I was very disappointed and dissatisfied with their personal customer service. I was visiting My family on a trip here from Tennessee, when I realized that I had completely failed to pack my contacts and glasses. The contacts I wear are daily disposables and would have only been good for another day or so. Yet my trip with my family was supposed to last two weeks and I was thinking I would have to fly back home as I am almost blind without them! My mom suggested that we go to Visionworks at the Tanasbourne Town Center in Beaverton where she got her glasses. The General Manager Rose was able to call my optometrist back in Tennessee, fax over my prescription, order me another 6 month supply of contacts shipped to my home, and provide me with two weeks worth of sample daily contacts in my brand name to hold me over until I got back! The Rose Moon went above and beyond to make sure that my family vacation went without a hitch. Thank you to Rose Moon and all the good people of Visionworks at the Tanasbourne Town Center. I purchased glasses from them March 2022 My glasses were never fitted to my face when I picked them up. I got them home and I couldn't read out of them. I tried and tried. I finally took them back within the 100 day policy they have for refunds. I have never seen a cent of my money "Suppose to come from corporate " I have called excessively and always given a excuse. Don't not go there- they will scam you! I went into this particular Vision Works location AFTER I called them and asked if they accepted my insurance which they said they did. They had trouble locating my plan then called me back. After a few back and forth calls they said "I was all set". I came in for my appointment a day or so later and had my exam next door at the optometrist. Everything was good and then I went next door to Vision works. I was informed by an associate that I had a few different options. I could buy two and get a certain discount or just buy one. She Informed me that I could also elect to have Vision works process my claim and I would end up paying more, but less out of pocket day of OR pay all upfront ($370) and then file the claim myself through my insurance and receive $200 back resulting in only being out of pocket $170 in total for my new frames and lenses. She also was "so kind" to complete my claim paperwork for me. Well... fast forward a month and my insurance is giving me a whopping $75 back because I was OUT OF NETWORK. I was never told at any point I was out of network, not once. Why would I even go that route if I were?! I was in no hurry for glasses, I just needed an updated prescription and found some cool frames that I liked. I could have gone to someone in network and closer to me might I add, so it doesn't make sense. Basically I have been told by BOTH my vision insurance company AND my bank that I was scammed. She should have NEVER completed my paperwork on my behalf and should have made it very clear I would have been out of network if I shopped there. Oh she also added on the options of lens to my invoice but didn't ask me beforehand, just did it. I didn't say anything at the time because I figured only being out of pocket $170 for new frames and lens wasn't a huge deal, but now I see the entire scam clearly (no pun intended). So, if you want to use this company be VERY VERY clear about your insurance. Get something in writing that shows your benefits through them (they have access to see what your insurance plan covers) and get an itemized receipt. Good luck!! read more

Have visited the store twice this year. It is super easy to find parking as they have plenty of parking right in front of the store - Especially thankful for that during the rainy season. For the pandemic, they have special process in place. Worry not if you doing some last minute glasses shopping before end of Dec. They ask you to sanitize your hand as soon as you enter the store. Then they take your temperature. If you are trying glasses on, they do not allow you to replace them back on shelf after you try them. I was asked to leave them on a separate tray. They then sanitize the glasses and re-shelf them. Would definitely recommend giving this place a shot if you are looking for glasses this season. read more

On Sunday we got Princess' hair cut. Afterwards she was playing around with my nerdy glasses, put them on, and in an astonished tone said " Wow! I can see so much better!" Having just had one of these moments recently with my boss' reading glasses, I knew that look. And the feeling. Hmm. I looked online for some Sunday eye place hours near us and 20 min later we were in front of the optometrist at Visionworks. Yep. Glasses would help her, especially with seeing the blackboard at school. Think that's important? Yup. Me too. The optometrist was nice, as was his helper. The eyglass salesman was nice too. Even when Princess and I argued a bit heatedly about frames. He was tactful and brought similar smaller alternatives at my request and supported her choice. They are HER glasses right? I just thought they were a bit big for her little face. But he measured and said the lens was where it should be. Whatever that means. They were BOGO so we got two pairs. A black oversized Calvin Klein pair ( like Karcat in Homestuck, dont even) and a sweet blue Guess pair for her sweet blue eyes. What!? I'm a mom. Can't help it. Sometimes I spoil her. Plus kids break/lose stuff. Trust me on this one. There was some wrangling with insurance and some pushing by the young man for special lenses and coatings etc. That part always irritates me and feels like a car dealership /shell game. They wound up being pretty expensive ( she chose spendy frames) and I have to submit to her secondary insurance to try to get more of it paid. We were there about two hours total. FYI. It's a bit of a process and it wasn't Princess' doing , she chose her frames fast. The glasses were ready two hours later but I was tired of running around all weekend so we went back the next day to get them after school. The place was slammed Monday at 5 but the guy ( not the one who helped us but another guy who observed the mini argument and mentioned it to us) remembered and greeted us, ditched the people he was helping for a few minutes, and got us in and out. Quick. Nice. Sorry other people. Princess wore the black ones out the door. Outside she stopped dead in her tracks and said " Wow I can see each individual leaf on that bush!!wow. I can read that sign over there! Wow! This is ahhhhmaaazing!!" Thanks Visionworks. You made this easy. I'd show you a picture of Princess in her specs but she'd kill me. I have bought my last two sets of glasses from Visionworks; specifically Max has helped me both times. Each time was after I had gone to another eyewear store. The first time I went to another eyewear store I was quoted $700-$800 for two sets of glasses. Max was able to get me two sets around $400. This time, a different store quoted me $600 for two sets. Max was able to get them for a little over $300 ( he suggested I use one of my existing frames and just replace the lenses). Max is awesome. Very professional and gives you lots of options. Next time, I'm just going straight to Visionworks- hopefully Max will still be there. read more

I admit I'm leery of big-box vision places. I've always felt the super-cheap deals they offer are for a bad selection of cheap frames and lenses with no extras at all. And while that can be the case if you want that price, I now know you can get a fair deal on your specs at Visionworks (and a really good eye exam too). I had cataract surgery and went from being farsighted to nearsighted overnight. I basically had to recycle every pair of glases I had ever owned. It had been a month and I could have gone to my insurance doctor but I wanted glasses NOW. I got them in one week, which is pretty darn good. First, I needed a new prescription. So I booked a same-day appointment on-line on a Friday with OptimEyes, an independent Optometrist that operates out of VisionWorks. There were lots of times to choose from. I was promptly greeted by the receptionist, and after filling out my info on a laptop they handed me, she escorted me back for the preliminary tests, which she administered herself and very professionally I might add. All very modern, clean machines. Cool. Next I was taken to the actual exam room where I met Dr. Prasad. Such a thourough and complete exam! It was not rushed, either. She probably spent at least 45 minutes with me. Very interested in my specific situation, and wanting to make sure my prescription was accurate. Less than an hour later and $89 spent, I walked the 15 feet to the VisionWorks reception desk. Since I wasn't using insurance, I did want a deal so we started with the current $89 promotion for progressive glasses. These deals are usually for "clearance" frames, but there were many to choose from. James was a pro, getting me through the process in less than 1/2 hour. Of course I knew I was going to spend more, and I did want some important features like anti-glare, scratch resistance and a higher-quality lens material (they call it HD lenses). Total for two pair of progressives out the door was about $220 (your price will vary). Since I usually pay about $110 per pair to buy on-line, that's not too bad. Exactly a week later, I got a call that they were ready. When I got there, I was helped promptly. Standing next to the desk was the technician. He wanted to make sure they were correct as well! Seems the lenses are made in their lab in Texas, but assembled in the frames locally. Nice people. Nice glasses. Fair prices. And I can see again! read more

They tried to charge me $55 for basic progressive lenses that VSP covers in full. The girl told me the insurance quoted me the wrong benefits and that my printout of benefits was wrong. The manager Rochelle called to say she went through my benefits and yes, I had to pay $55, that their quote was correct. VSP said they changed this years ago and basic progressive lenses are free. I filed an official fraud complaint with my insurance and went elsewhere. Know your benefits and don't trust these guys. read more

Today I went into Visionworks to see if someone could help me with my glasses. I had bought a pair of glasses online actually, but they were bent slightly funny and it was affecting the prescription. David assisted me and he was wonderful. He was very friendly, polite and informative. I was quite impressed with the fact that I was not being charged for the service, and David was very knowledgeable. He explained what was going on with my frames, and he fixed them perfectly. We talked a little bit about Visionworks and sales being offered which was also very helpful because it would be great to buy additional pair of glasses in person rather than online. I have been a long time customer of Vision Works and have never had any issues with my eye glasses. I bought a new pair last November from this location and they literally just broke right down the middle as I went to put them on. These are fairly high-end frames so I was shocked. I took them into the shop and the two gentlemen Dominic and Leyton, were absolutely wonderful about the whole thing and worked with me to get my frames replaced. Both of them exhibited outstanding customer service and made what could have been a very expensive and stressful situation, easy and reasonable. Frantically looking for a place to fix my 6 year old sons glasses. The nose piece broke and was digging into his poor face! Our regular optometrist office had closed already (visionworks is open till 8pm!). Took a chance at visionworks, and was incredibly impressed. The woman at the front was SO sweet, and offered to fix his glasses FREE of charge. We were in and out of there in less than 5 minutes. Considering swapping our current optometrist office for visionworks due convenient hours, wonderful customer service and great pricing. Happy mom, happy kid! read more

I was happy with my exam. The doctor did a great job and my prescription felt right. Unfortunately the glasses I bought are garbage. I got human tears on them and it somehow speckled the coating on the lenses. When I brought them into the store there was two young guys working there. The first guy just dismissed me right off the bat and wanted to know how I cleaned my glasses. The second guy was nicer and said he could see how tears could do that but they couldn't fix it. They gave me the card of some other eyeglass shop in Tigard. Three months later the stupid hinge broke on my glasses and I brought them in again to see if they could fix them, of course they are unable to fix them. We bought 1200.00$ worth of glasses from them last year. I'll never go back there again. I would probably feel differently about it if the customer service wasn't so blah. I never felt like the people who worked there cared even an iota. read more

I came in to get glasses for my grandchild. There was a great selection and a good sale buy two pairs for $99, this also included polycarbonate lenses which is better than plastic! They took the time to adjust them upon pick up and offered to adjust them if needed in the future! read more

I was supposed to pick up a set of 2 glasses in august. I got the first pairs but the second pair weren't ready so they told me to come back in a week or so. I came back and the pair of glasses they gave me were wrong (the wrong frames and they were sunglasses when i didn't want sunglasses.) They said give us 2 weeks to get you a new pair. I said Ok, next couple weeks they call and said they were done, i went back to pick them up and they said they "couldn't find my glasses". You guys are in charge of having glasses but you literally lost my glasses. So then they said give us another 2 weeks and we will ship them to your house for sure. So i waited and that was in september. It is NOW OCTOBER. they called and said my glasses were finally done. But I kept checking my mail and there was no glasses whatsoever. So i decided to go in and seems like they had my glasses, she pulled them out and showed me and they were WRONG AGAIN. They were the wrong frames and they were sunglasses. It's been 3 TIMES now that they've gotten my order wrong and lost my order. They couldn't even give me a full refund. This place is horrible. read more

These ladies are the best. I walked in and was immediately greeted by three warm and friendly faces. Two of them were managers and there was one associate named Kendra. I had all three of them helped me and made me feel like I was Cinderella. They were attentive, kind, listened to my needs, and patient with me as I tried on like a million pairs of glasses. Not a good experience. I scheduled an eye exam and contact fitting here based on their availability, will not visit again. The check in process was very disorganized, no doctor name or introduction, just led around like a sheep. Most of the visit was not with the doctor but with an assistant, IE not an ophthalmologist. After they were finished I was told the doctor would be in soon, took twenty minutes sitting in an empty room. Doctor rushed through the exam, right away told me current contacts are garbage and left again. 25 years in lenses and current ones are great, open to suggestions but that's not what this was. Based on last four years of doctor suggestions and my own research the contacts I currently used are very highly rated and I've loved them. Kept waiting, ten, twenty, thirty minutes with no feedback. Doctor finally comes in finishes the exam totally rushed. If you've been to these exams you know the which slide is better drill. So rushed that it was "a or b is better" flipped before the slide was completely visible, no way it was accurate. Mentioned the rush and was given a sigh, more rushing. At the end of the exam I was given a lens cost comparison with inaccurate info. The lenses the doctor was pushing had "huge rebates right now" while my current lenses were "old and not offering much." Wrong. Once I was home I did some research and found both rebates were the same, the lenses were the same age, both with very similar reviews and cost. The lens prescription I was given was wrong as well, .25 off. Felt like a chop shot mass market exam and sales gimmick at the end, skip this place and visit a local doctor, I will. read more

Came in for buy 1 get 1 free. They called the next day and said they messed up on one of the glasses and would have it ready in the afternoon the following day. Came in to pick them up, but noticed obvious grind marks on one of the lenses. How the technician assembled the lenses to the frame and didn't notice the marks, is frustrating. Now I have to wait and pick the glasses up in a week cause I'm traveling the next day which I specifically told them at first. read more

I went here for years when it was Binyon's and was very happy with service and my glasses. Since changing to Visionworks; not so much. I had an eye exam; the doctor told me I had cataracts (not not the percentage of sight loss) and that my astigmatism had changed in both eyes (essentially reversed) with no explanation of why this would happen. I picked out frames and ordered glasses; I had to wait 6 weeks for them to be made. I picked up the glasses and tried to wear them for a week, but they gave me such vertigo and headaches that I couldn't tolerate them. I called to say I wasn't satisfied, so they scheduled a re-check for me. The doctor said her prescription was right and my "brain must not like the high index lens material" and that was why I was having problems. So, order another pair of glasses, this time in polycarbonate and wait another 4 weeks for new lenses. Get a call that my new lenses are in. I go in, try on the glasses, and they are even worse than the first pair! I get nauseous just sitting in the chair and turning my head. I can't even read the huge posters behind the desk. I demand a refund and get it, no arguments, no questions; which leads me to believe this might not be the first time someone's asked for a refund. They refused however to refund the exam cost. I've had to pay back my insurance company to get my benefit reinstated so I can get a new exam and frames from somewhere else. When I do get a new exam, I'm going to take my prescription in, show Visionworks that theirs is wrong, and demand a refund of that, too. I was a loyal customer of Binyon's but I'll never go back to Visionworks; instead I'll tell everyone what a pain this has been. read more
