I can't speak highly enough of Dr. McBride. After cataract surgery I had issues with double vision in one eye. It had a real negative effect on me and Dr.McBride could not have worked harder to make my vision as normal as possible. After exhausting what I believe was everything he could a solution was found. He and his staff could not have been kinder and more caring. I would have been hard pressed to find anyone to work harder on my behalf. read more

The doctor and support staff were very welcoming and nice. Was not a fan of the lack of promised follow through. Ended up getting glasses elsewhere as a result. Also, just because someone does not have great insurance (as the doctor pointed out in front of everyone) does not mean that the patient can not afford to pay out of pocked. My family has had a rough time with other optometrists (VisionWorks and the like), and after extensive review searching, we visited Dr. McBride and Dr. Sullivan. Not only did Dr. McBride take exceptional care accommodating all of my kids' questions, but he thoroughly explained everything in a way that was easy-to-digest for neurodiverse patients. My teen is trying out contacts for the first time and Dr. McBride has been extremely patient and supportive during the entire process. Dr. Sullivan worked with me and is the first optometrist to dig deeper into my chronic eye issues that no one else could figure out, and she is completely supportive in helping me to find the answers so I know how to best take care of my eyes! I've taken my dad here for several years now, and while I've always appreciated the quality of care from the doctors and staff, the chronic understaffing is a persistent issue that has increasingly impacted our experience. We've had several errors in billing and prescriptions. While the staff is diligent in correcting these issues, the errors themselves could be avoided with better staffing (or training of new staff) and slowing down. read more

I was referred to Dr. McBride and his team by a good friend who had been seeing him for some time. She specifically told me about a time when she found herself needing to bring her two young children with her to her own eye exam (nanny was sick) and Dr. McBride and his team were incredibly accommodating. I decided to give them a shot since my usual place is across the river and it'd be nice to have something closer. Well, I was in for a treat! My initial experience was at the end of last year trying to cash in on my frame benefit before year-end. I met with Cheri (perhaps one of the opticians?) who was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and professional. I could tell immediately I was in good hands. She directed me to a selection of frames I was looking for and gave me honest feedback on some of my choices. The process working with my insurance was seamless as she handled it all! Upon reviewing my coverage, she also recommended I bring my children in for screening since my benefits were so good and I took her up on that advice. Today I had both my 7-year-olds in for an examination and it went better than I could have ever expected. Although the office space does not immediately come across as a kid-specific place, the staff made sure me and my kids were taken care of fully...from the ease of having the family stay together for both exams to the ease of frame selection with Cheri, I couldn't have been more please. I specifically want to call out how incredible Dr. McBride was with my kids...like he was born to work with children. His patience and understanding with my kids' busy bodies, relentless questions and manhandling of equipment, bickering with one another unfazed him. Another thing I would like to mention is how well Dr. McBride explained everything in a way I could understand and so could my kids! They were actually able to retell their experience to their dad and explain pretty accurately what myopia is! I'm so glad my friend my pointed us in his direction! read more

I wish I could give Dr. McBride a 10 out of 5. I've been going to him for - holy guacamole, 21 years now! - and he's never been anything but perfect. Very personable, very down to earth, extremely knowledgable, hilarious, and so so very kind. He's the only medical office I enjoy going to because I know it's going to be a good time, I'm going to laugh while there, and I'm going to come out with my problems fixed. Dr. McBride's memory and energy are unbelievable! I swear he must be a vampire or something, since he looks and acts the same now as he did two decades ago. I can't recommend him enough. A+++ will never go anywhere else until he retires. I came to Dr. McBride to inquire about possible solutions for my dry eyes, since I hadn't been able to wear my contacts for months. Dr. McBride was incredibly supportive of my situation and my need to find contacts that I could wear, at least for a few hours a day. Dr. McBride extensively reviewed my medical history, current vision, and needs/wants for future vision whether it be for contacts or glasses. I'm still working with Dr. McBride on finding contacts that are right for me, but each visit he is encouraging, supportive, and thorough. I'm constantly impressed with his knowledge of different contacts, contact materials, and treatments - as well thankful for his constant hesitance in endorsing expensive solutions that are still up in the air for their effectiveness within the medical vision community. I went to Dr. McBride because I'd heard that he was passionate and knowledgeable about contact lenses. And boy, is he ever! He gave me a lot to consider and really explained what I could expect with the new generation of lenses for these older eyes. Great guy, friendly staff. Dr. McBride is the most caring and knowledgeable eye doctors I've ever been to. I had lasic about 13 years ago and haven't seen an eye doctor since. So I went to Dr. McBride for an eye exam and general eye checkup. He was incredibly thorough in the exam and talked to me about all he was doing and why.
