Listen for customer service they get a 5 star every time. Alexa, who has been here for at least the past year or so that I first had her assist during my exam, is ALWAYS cheerful. She smiles all the time and you can hear it in her voice when she answers the phone. She is just PERFECT to be the one to greet and one who answers the phone! I had Shay help me pick out my frames when I was there in the fall and she was WONDERFUL. I, however, was NOT wonderful to my glasses. No no. I scratched not ONE but BOTH LENSES right in the middle of the lens. Grrr. So I figured oh well I'm just going to have to pay for new lenses. I got them in November and it's July!! Well the day I called Alexa answered bright and cheery as usual. I told her my sad story and she asked for my information so she could look up my account. Well I apparently had a TWO year warranty for scratches!!! Yeeeehaw!! So she said NO PROBLEM, we will just order the new lenses and then call you when they come in. You can swing by anytime it's convenient to get them swapped out! After about two weeks I realized that I hadn't given her my new phone number. So even IF she called she wouldn't get me! Lol. So I called and (yup Alexa again!) She said hey!!! We have your lenses!! I popped in the next day and it was just her and Shay (I apologize if I've misspelled your name!) They got right to it and Shay had a hard time cleaning my glasses as I'd put these cheap plastic pads on to keep them from sliding lol She took those off, reshaped them and I keep them on my nose and then got back to cleaning the lenses. She went back again into the room Alexa had swapped the lenses out and called Alexa in. They found a HUGE scratch on my NEW lenses!! Then as she finally got rhem cleaned and fitted, she found another on the other lens. I was not upset because what can you do right? But Shay said THIS isn't acceptable. She said try he first thing the next day she'd call the lab to expedite me a new pair of lenses. That would only have been a week tomorrow. I was VERY impressed, again with th level OF POST service/appointment care. They genuinely care and genuinely like what they do. That's clear. I'll keep going here as long as they'll see me!! Love the staff and love my glasses!! And I KNOW I'll have some new lenses soon too. Which will be checked and double checked before they call me lol read more

Update: I had to come back and change my rating from 3 stars down to 1. On top of having issues with my contact fitting, I had issues with my contact order. My insurance covered a 6 month supply of contacts so I ordered them and had to pay a little extra out of pocket to cover the rest of the fees. I'm used to this so no big deal. When I came in to pick up my contacts I was given 2 boxes (6 month supply for both eyes is 4 boxes). On my way to the car, I noticed the lack of boxes and asked them about it. The girl at the desk, Shay, checked my order and saw that they billed my insurance but ordered the wrong amount but she needed to wait until the girl who ordered them for me came in to ask her about it. I came in on a Wednesday and the other girl came in on Friday so I had to wait until at least Friday to hear anything about it but she would call me first thing Friday to update me. A little irritated at this point but I understood there was nothing Shay could do so I waited until Friday. Friday no call, no call all the way until Wednesday when I CALLED THEM. They had ordered me some more contacts. But all I asked for was some communication. So overall, a VERY frustrating experience here that will likely keep me from coming back. read more

Went to get my annual eye appointment and at the end of my appointment was told I had the most basic insurance plan with no coverage for contact lens exam or contacts. I found this odd because I've been going for years and had insurance to cover contacts. They realized they did not find the right insurance and my coverage didn't start until February. They said they couldn't bill that insurance as it didn't start yet and I had to pay partially out of pocket. Previously, when I called to confirm my insurance, their staff told me they would review it later as the site was down and never called me back. In the end they just gave me a 15% discount and said I didn't provide them with enough information. Overall a very disappointing experience. read more

I came here a couple months ago for an exam and to order contacts, and came back today with new insurance to order glasses. Both times the front desk employees were friendly. I can't remember the doctor who saw me for my exam but she was a younger looking woman and very nice. When I came in with the new insurance, the woman helping me thoroughly explained my coverage (I had a lot of questions) and was very friendly while I ordered my glasses. They are SUPER techy and have everything filled out on a tablet, as well as having a card reader right at the glasses station, I really like that. They'll also text and email receipts or notices. My husband has had a so-so experience recently with the Beaverton location, but I highly recommend the Tigard one. read more

New customer, had an appointment for Wednesday. Got a voicemail on Tuesday from Irene saying they had to cancel my appointment but that they had appointments for Thursday. Immediately called back to switch my appointment to Thursday, at which time I was told Irene must have been mistaken and they had no Thursday appointments but they could get me in for Friday at 11. I accept. I get there on Friday. No one greets me as I walk in. I tell the lady behind the desk I'm there for my appointment. She curtly asks for my insurance card and then hands me a tablet to confirm my information ... the tablet listed me as David Hernandez (I'm a woman). I hand it back confused, at which point she tells me I'm not in their books for the day. I get no apology. She tells me to go sit down and doesn't reassure me they will try to get me in. After sitting for a few minutes another woman walks in for her glasses fitting and the lady behind the desks proceeds to start helping her without a word to me. I got up and left. Terribly disorganized and rude. There are too many other well run optometrists' offices to waste your time here. read more

Is it weird to look for an optometrist on Yelp? Yeah, probably. Usually I reserve Yelp for tacos and bars but being relatively new to the area, I didn't already have a go-to optometrist so, Yelp to the rescue. Turned out to be a great idea. Dr. Harris has that rare quality I always hope for in a doctor- intellectual curiosity within his field (why does this seem so rare?!). He has a good sense of humor but, most importantly, he had the patience to walk me though interesting information about my eyes which I really appreciated. I also thought Tristan at the front desk was great. The costs were explained thoroughly as we went along (with options) so I was not hit by a surprise bill for something my insurance didn't cover. Again- why isn't this more standard in medical services? I'll be making appointments for my whole family now that I've vetted this office. And side note- If I hadn't chosen Tigard Vision World, I might not have discovered Sanchez Taqueria next door- SO good. SO it turns out even Yelping an optometrist ended up in a great taco in the end. read more

I came here in, what I thought was, just the nick of time (10mins before closing) only to find that they had locked their doors, shut off the lights, and went home early! I work til 5p, sometimes later, so I rely on businesses like this to keep open long enough for me to be able to shop. Oh well, I guess getting home just a lil bit earlier was worth up to $150 that I was willing to spend. I will say that I spoke to a nice lady on the phone before coming and she was helpful. Called to find out what the price range was for progressive glasses. I told the salesperson I had looked at Costco and another "budget" place and was curious to find out Vision World's pricing. She could not have been more rude. Instead of just sharing pricing with me, she kept saying they were more high end and that she couldn't really give me prices because they had a range. I had to ask about 9 questions to find out the prices of the lenses and when I asked the difference between the two prices she finally shared, she said "They're just different lenses." I've been wearing glasses for the past 25 years and been to dozens of optometrists and Dr. Harris is the best, he and his staff are friendly, knowledgeable and professional. One thing that stands out is that they have newest and greatest technology, all of their equipment is top of the line and they put my eyes through some testing that I had never had done before. Especially the high resolution 3D images they took of the INSIDE of my eyes, which Dr. Harris then reviewed with me right there on the spot (everything looked good!). Another thing I loved about this place is the selection of glasses they have to choose from, you could spend hours trying on all of the models they have in stock. At most places I always have a hard time finding a pair that I like but at this place I found no less then 3 that I loved, the hard part was picking which one of them wanted. About the only negative I can give this place is that they don't stock Costa Del Mar sunglasses, but the prescription Kaenons I got are almost as good. So basically if you want the best care and the coolest glasses, this is the place to go! read more

Went in for a contact exam and got my temporary contacts. At the clinic one eye was blurry so the Dr. gave me a different prescription for each eye. Neglected to mark it in my chart and now I have to repeat the exam/trial process in order to get the correct contacts for each eye. Rude customer service as well read more

Just finally had my eye appointment after being stuck in quarantine. Had a great experience at Vision World. The check in process was fast and easy. I really liked Dr. Harris. He took the time to educate me about what he's looking for and how my eyes are doing. After he gave me my prescription someone else helped me pick out my frames making sure we found something I liked but that was also affordable. Nice people, but bad service. My First time getting prescription glasses. I would not recommend them. Seems professional, but not very. Got an eye exam. Tried on some cool Dragon frames that I liked. They fit my wide head and flat nose, so I bought and ordered them with prescription progressive lenses. So, about a few weeks later, I get them. Wore them a few days. Weird, the frames didn't fit right and the progressives didn't work for me,especially my left eye. Found out that they ordered the wrong frames, and the progressives were set wrong. WTF!!! So, reordered a new pair that took about another few weeks. We are now a month or so into this investment. They fit and got on with my life. Maybe a week goes by, wearing these cool glasses, the arm falls off. One of the screws came off. Easy fix right? Nope. I bring them back to Vision World and they say that they have to send the glasses back to the manufacturer to replace the screw. It uses a screw/spring system that I was not aware of. So, I say, okay. We send if off. Another week in a half goes by and I get the glasses back. Free of charge? Nope. Vision World made me pay for the 12 dollar shipping. WTF2?! As of today, I am worried about the screw getting loose, which does from time to time and my prescription still sucks. Truthfully, if you are a member, just go to Costco!!!!! read more

Dr.Harris is the best! He saw me on Easter Sunday when I injured my eye and he diagnosed the problem. My husband also gets eye exams from him and glasses! I haven't been to an optometrist in years...mostly because I've gotten conflicting information & prescriptions in the past. but coming to Tigard Vision World was refreshing. From the outside, it kind of looks like a little whole in the wall, but inside its beautifully designed, comfortable, welcoming & CLEAN! The reception staff is very welcoming & professional & equipment is state of the art. Doc is very knowledgeable & charming. He knew what the problem was before we even finished the exam! & the staff was not pushy about upgrading to more expensive frames or anything like that. But I have always had perfect vision.... Well I guess until my late 30's I finally gave in & checked out the yelp listings under "optomitrist" & finally settled on Vision World. I was happy to learn that there are 2 Vision World locations (Beaverton & Tigard) which made getting in to see the doc easy. I was able to schedule something for the next day. I'm not sure what I have been watching but I was sure a trip to the optomitrist would involve things being injected into my eyes & other strange things I must have seen in some horror film in the past. So I was very pleased to learn the worst part if the check up would be a few eye drops & looking at some flashing lights - phew! Dr Harris was great. I know more about my eyes now than I ever thought I should or would but being knowledgable is probably a good thing right? The staff was super helpful in assisting me in picking out my very 1st pair of glasses. I would recommend this place to anyone - great staff & exceptional service. read more

Took my daughter here for the first time last week as her old eye doctor moved, and was blown away by everything. The doctor that treated her was outstanding and explained everything very clearly and a way that she could understand the information. The staff was very helpful with training her on contact usage, being very patient as it took awoke to get it down. They also helped me find a new pair of frames with limited paperwork and hassle. I was on vacation in Portland and needed a new prescription for contacts. I was fortunate to land a next day appointment with Dr. Harris. The office was immaculate. I didn't look at the frame selection because I was only interested in contacts. Dr. Harris immediately made me feel comfortable as a new client. They have been consistently patient and helpful, despite that a nerve condition requires me to obtain frequent eyeglass adjustments. I enjoyed me visit to Tigard Vision World. The man helping me at the front desk was extremely friendly and kind. I had called a week earlier to schedule the exam and he contacted my insurance company to see how much they would cover. The optometrist was professional and helpful. The man at the front desk didn't try to sell me the most expensive glasses or pressure me into buying anything. He also did a run-down line by line on what it would cost me. They did tell me they would try to get me my glasses in a week, it ended up taking two weeks (which is okay, since I told them I did not need them for a while). When I came back, a different man adjusted my glasses for me and made sure they fit perfectly. Prices are on par with other optometrist offices. They have a big selection of glasses and I am sure you will find something you like. They are also open on Saturdays which is great for working people like me. read more
