This is a fantastic place to get LASIK surgery. The groupon that's available, and that I used, is LASIK for both eyes for $1900. This is a steal since the doctors you will work with before, during and after your surgery are professional, kind and most importantly extremely skilled and knowledgeable. Yes, it's true, as they mention when you go for your consultation, you will wait about 4 hours on the day of your surgery before the procedure actually occurs. After getting eye measurements, you will be placed in a room with a group of people also getting the surgery done to watch a video that explains everything you need to do to obtain successful results. Then, Dr. Burger comes out and talks through some of what the video covers and answers any other questions you have. Then you are each called one by one into the operating room. The doctor and staff are all extremely friendly and will give you a teddy bear if you need something to hold on to. The entire procedure takes less than 10 minutes and then you are on your way. Overall, this is a great place to go to for extremely affordable, grade A quality LASIK. You won't regret it! read more

I went in for a consultation, and the doctor spent part of the time telling me what would happen during the procedure and the rest of the time putting down a competitor, which is very unprofessional. He then told me I would receive a call the following week with a quote. The following week, I received a call from a pushy saleswoman named Kendall and was asked if I'd like to schedule surgery and which days were available. This all happened before she even gave me a quote. The whole experience turned me off, so I ended up going elsewhere for my surgery, and I would recommend you do as well. read more

I've been thinking about a lasik procedure for the past couple years now because my eyes have stabilized, so I visited a few places in the Chicago area to get a consultation and see who I would move forward with come Jan-16 to leverage my FSA funds. I stumbled upon Vision One via Groupon, but there's just something about discount services that makes me uneasy when it comes to something as important as your eyes. I still wanted to see how the consultations would vary, so I decided to make an appointment. I've had a prior consultation with another venue downtown, and they were very extensive in the tests conducted, and made me feel very comfortable. The surgeon himself even came in and told me how the process would work pre and post surgery. The consultation with Vision One was certainly different, to say the least. They don't have the main equpiment at the consultation office downtown, so the main problem was that they couldn't verify if I'd actually be eligible for lasik or PRK surgery and that I would find out the day of surgery (if moving forward with them). The surgery also takes place at a different office in the west suburbs and not the downtown location. The lasik process at Vision One also uses the older method, using a blade to make the flap on your eye, as opposed to new technology that uses lasers to make the flap; hence the cheap groupon price. I didn't feel comfortable at all coming out of this consultation and there was a night and day difference coming out of this one vs. the other two places I went to. Word of advice, if you're trying to save a few bucks, find it in other ways like eating out or other things in your budget that you can cut back on. When it comes to your eyes, it's worth dishing out the extra dollars to get a more safe and precise procedure. This is just a suggestion, you're in charge of your own decisions. Hope this is helpful! Everyone I dealt with from the front desk staff to the doctors at the Arlington Heights and Lombard locations were friendly, out-of-their-way helpful, and informative. Price wise this is the cheapest I've seen the procedure at $1900 with the Groupon. I went for the consultation before I purchased the Groupon but I was still surprised that for such a large purchase for a Groupon that it was not a scam. LVI charged $3300 with a supposed 20% discount because the sun was shining. LASIK plus wanted my leg and $3750 also with a $600 discount because the sky is blue. You see and talk to the doctors more than other places that have you with a tech most of the time. Yes, you'll be there on the day of the surgery for 3-4 hours because they have people go in groups. The whole procedure takes about less than five minutes. I was able to see almost immediately. I even went out to eat afterwards. Discomfort is the best word to describe some of the unpleasant sensation regarding the surgery, but there is no pain. Two weeks later, I can see without any aid better than ever. You have to wear the goggles for a week while you sleep and take two eye drops four times a day as well, but that's no big deal. My vision is still improving as it takes a couple of months to fully heal. So I would definitely recommend going here unless you wanna pay double the price at LVI or LASIK plus. Best thing I have ever done! I've been wearing glasses for 25 years and I have been waiting this day all my life. I walked in with glasses and walked out without. I had lasik surgery on Friday afternoon and by night time I was watching TV with no glasses. On Saturday I went to my follow up appointment and Dr. Grant, senior, said my vision was 20/20 and my progression was great. Update: I had my 2 week follow up and I tested for 20/15 Vision! I still have occasional haziness or halos at night from dryness. I do not have any discomfort whatsoever in the eye and actually don't even feel like my eyes are dry. Chicago Location - 4 stars because "I'm a fan". I didn't have Lasik surgery here..just a consultation. So this is more so a review based on trustworthiness. This was my 3rd consult at 3 different offices. The 1st said no, the 2nd said yes, and vision one said no. Not only did I appreciate them saying no and speaking of the dangers of me getting lasik, I can tell he was concerned about the company that told me "yes". He had heard of them before and figured they would have been the company that would say yes. I felt that he wasn't just trying to bash them, but wanted me to be safe with my decision. I told him I have another consult with a 4th highly reputable business and he felt that was a great choice for me. All in all I felt comfortable in what he was telling me. It wasn't my first consult, and I had been doing research, so everything he was telling me wasn't new. So for someone who hasn't done many consults and has only gone to Vision One, I would lean towards trusting their opinion. read more

I have been meaning to write this review for some time. I found Vision One on Living Social. I had been reeled in to see another organization by a tempting radio ad. Upon visiting that office, I was kept there for 2 hours to be quoted $3,800 for the surgery. I read all the reviews on Vision One - the good and bad, and determined I was willing to give it a try. I am 500% satisfied with my experience with Vision One. I had my mono-vision surgery late September, and even on the very next day I was able to forgo both my reading glasses and my distance glasses. I was able to read a fine print book the next week, and easily work on the computer all day long (with only a bit of tired eyes end of day). My distance is wonderful as well. Most importantly, I really like the doctors and staff at Vision One. Dr. Brand on the initial consultation was very direct and honest about the procedure, and the process the day of the procedure. He tells you that you will be there for 4ish hours and explains why. They do the testing just before the procedure so that the computer has the most up to date information. They offer wi-fi and TV in the waiting room, so it wasn't painful at all. Dr. Brand, Dr. Marion, and Dr. Burger (who did the surgery), all made me feel very comfortable and completely safe. The front desk staff was friendly and efficient. Not a problem at all. I wish I could remember the name of the wonderful girl who did scheduling of appointments and some of the testing. She was absolutely top notch. After my surgery, I recommended Vision One to a friend of my son's, and he went and is happy as well. I got Lasik here three years ago. I could never see very clearly after recovering (my career requires precision), and after a year and a half of struggling, finally got glasses again. I followed up to see if I could get it redone, refunded, or whatever my options were, and was told that I should just be happy with how much better it was than before, (yet can't see well enough to make my living) and also that I would be charged another $1000 if I wanted to get it redone. I had since relocated to another state, so there's no way I will travel back to Chicago AND pay another thousand for a company that sweeps their failures under the rug like this. Worst Lasik Experience (Not done surgery but walked out minutes from the operation table). I have bought the Groupon for buy one get one and what I found was the following: 1. No one confirms even on the day of the appointment to confirm the surgery. Not to mention forget about the reminder or notices before consultation. 2. There is nothing called pre-op consultation. You basically walk into the operation room to find the surprise of your life. Lasik or PRK?. Can't you tell me which one at least a day before so we can get mentally prepared and ask for more time off. Originally I was promised that LASIK is the way to go but was told PRK at operation table. Who does that? 3. Dr. Berger told me absolutely opposite of how my eyes are. He told me he has to do PRK based on his calculation (done by hand not computerized) since I have thin cornea, uneven cornea as well as eyes are too delicate to perform LASIK and that too when I am on time zero of operation. PRK requires a good one week recovery to get to 20-20 vision while LASIK the very next day. 4. When I got my eyes and surgery done at Kraff Eye Institute who are much more professional (double/ triple checked my eyes) told me my eyes does not have thin cornea (mine was 550 microns while average is 520 microns), does not have irregularities and were perfect candidate for LASIK. Surprise Surprise. Beware guys, I understand buy one get one deal sounds too good to be true and might have worked for some but take my word. It is worth spending little more to get a better treatment/ surgery. Also remember it is not just the immediate successful surgery but a sustained successful surgery which I highly doubt Dr. Berger/ Brand team can confirm. I hope this review is not deleted as other negative reviews are removed. BTW, I had successful LASIk at Kraff Eye Institute and very happy with staff, Dr. Kraff as well as my eyesight is now 20/20 a day and improving. read more

I got LASIK done over 2 years ago (February 2011) and haven't been happier! Life is soooo much better without temple/eye-pinching glasses. I always liked the way glasses looked, but hated wearing them. They always slid down my nose and felt heavy, made swimming,etc., a pain! Wish I did it earlier, but couldn't afford it. Vision One is very affordable; everyone there is professional and welcoming; they're well-organized and on time; office is nice & cozy. Dr. Brand & his son are very nice, too, as they answer questions, take their time, and care about their patients. I was a bit concerned about possible side effects, but had none! After much back and forth, I went forward with LASIK! It's best choice, second was choosing this place to do it! They have specials everywhere if you look (Groupon & LivingSocial) and the best price with outstanding service and results. They follow up with you often and schedule appointments months to a year out for regular checkups for you, like your regular eye doctor would. They also prepare you well in advance so you know what to expect. All that being said, I had PRK because of my high prescription before 7.0, yep, high. Glasses since the 3rd grade. It's hard to believe that my eyes are working on their own without the use of contacts. They will decide at your consultation whether or not you are a candidate for Lasik or PRK. The procedure is pretty much the same but the recovery time is a little bit longer. I had to take about a week and a half off from work and probably didn't start to see a big increase and my vision until about three weeks out. Immediately after surgery however, I was not able to wear my glasses or any other lowered prescription. The beginning was rough but the rest was smooth sailing. It all depends on your body's recovery and healing process as well. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and I highly recommend their services to any and everyone who inquires and is ready to SEE!! There are many people who are undergoing LASIK at this chain but I wonder why no one is writing any reviews. Anyways, here is mine. I had my LASIK on 2nd Nov. This was one of the best money I ever spent with a groupon coupon of $1900 for both the eyes. Dr. Brand and Dr. Burger (surgeon) were the docs who were involved in giving me this new freedom off my glasses (which I badly needed working in IT for a fortune 10 firm). They are knowledgeable, experienced and well aware of what they are doing. I had my initial checkup at this location and the surgery was performed at Lombard location. The only painful thing in this was the wait of 3 hrs as there is only one surgeon to operate on a lot of people. I had my appointment at 3:30pm and was out by 6:45. The very next day my vision in left eye was 20/20 and right was a little blurry but almost 20/20 and far better than with glasses. I was told that it will correct by time, so looking forward to that. Had a consultation at downtown location.overall it was ok.but my eyes were dialeted?!(some drops,which make your eyes get blurry)but dr didn't explain me anything,I mean ,I didn't know that my eyes will get blurry and will not be able see normally 30-25min.they couldn't give me full information about upcoming correction,cost and post op appointments.he told that they will call me back in a week.but I have waited more than 2weeks.when I called to their Lombard office ,they told ,that they still didn't get my papers and that's why they can't give me a information about pricing.i waited few more days and booked consultation at another clinic ,where they have explained everything:surgery details,payment,post op check ups,lifelong warranty.finally I've got a call from Vision one.lady on the didn't tell me anything,she just started asking me when I want to get done my surgery and nothing about the price?!?!and when I asked her,she said-as I know you gonna purchase Groupon?!?!OMG.is it really hard to transfer clients information from one location to another,or they still use postal pigeons?!?!it took over than 2 weeks to send my info from Downtown location to Lombard?!?! read more

Overall you have to know that you will be spending quite a bit of time on the appointments, the first appointment I waited for couple hours, the lasik procedure appointment took about good three hours and so on.
