LasikPlus tried to have my review deleted by Yelp, when they could not buy my silence. I had many horrible encounters here following my original surgery, so this review is well within the Yelp terms of service, even as this sketchy factory tries to get negative reviews deleted. I want to give an update because LasikPlus came very close to ruining my life. I had -1.5 vision in both eyes prior to lasik, but because they did a poor job vetting me, my vision is now -4.25. I was a poor candidate for lasik due to topographical issues in my corneas, but LasikPlus went full speed ahead, insisting that I was a prime candidate. Two other ophthalmologists have since told me that they were negligent in operating on me. I frankly wish I'd thought to sue them sooner, as I have post-lasik ecstasia as a result of going to them. Truly the biggest regret of my life, avoid this butcher shop with a 100 foot pole. read more

I heavily advise against getting your procedure done here. Go to U of Chicago or Northwestern's LASIK Center. The likelihood of complications and/or failure after LASIK is much higher than the industry allows the public to know about or understand. I've been to four specialists since getting my procedure done here and no one will touch my eyes because they don't want to be associated with the botched procedure performed by LASIK Plus. I can't drive at night, have lost all farsighted abilities in low light, chronic and painful dry eye and after testing, have undeniable proof that this place abhorrently performed my procedure in both eyes. I now have irregular anti-stigmatism, which was never an issue for me prior to the procedure. Before surgery, my vision was -4.25 in each eye, so not even very severe. Please do more research and if you are to follow through, go to real medical professionals who specialize in LASIK in Chicago. These guys are not it. read more

The receptionist were awesome! Mez and Khaliah were very nice and patient. Mez remembered my name for each visit and very knowledgeable about the entire process. Dr. Sean was very nice and calm and the nurses that assisted him were very high energy and friendly which made the experience a little less scary. The process was very quick (10mins maybe). There was some pressure and discomfort but no pinching or burning pain during the surgery. Have been super scared, hesitant, and nervous about getting lasik done! Did tons of research about where, with who and when. Finally, decided to go to LasikPlus where the doctors are experienced, passionate, and empathetic with their patients. 12/5/2024, got my lasik with Dr. Horn with the same day consult and procedure. Cannot even explain how amazing him and his whole staff were throughout the experience. They made me feel calm and relaxed and explained the whole process with me. Right before stepping into the room, i had the nervous jitters and Dr. Horn took his time, sat down with me on the couch, and went over the whole process step by step and calmed me down. Came in for a consultation and a week later had lasik for my astigmatism. I had varying prescription per eye and still qualified for the procedure. Everything was quick and smooth. The healing is just as they mention, the first day it's completely normal to have an itching and burning sensation but goes away after a nap. The office was very professional and attentive. The office staff was friendly and Dr Horn is amazing. The problem is that 6 months after the procedure and my vision has already changed and isnt the same as right after the procedure. My doctor said I need an enhancement. He filled out the form and submitted it, only for them to tell me there is a change but not enough for an enhancement. They advised for me to continue to see my dr. I guess I deal with sore eyes and Lasik only lasting 6 months and maybe down the road if it gets worse-then the "guarantee" will come into play. read more

I purchased the plan with lifetime renewals because LasikPlus did not tell me my doctor would likely deny my renewal. You have to get your eyes dilated and examined before you can have a touchup done. My doctor said if I got Lasik again to improve my far sight I will lose my near site. She said i can have either or but not both. My vision was perfect for about two years, four years later I need readers again. Totally not worth it. read more

I decided to update my review to 4 stars. Overall I am satisfied but there were definitely some bumps in the road. It still remains to be seen how my eyes will be once the have fully recovered. If you are nervous about the surgery, I would advise against the doctor (Mcglothan) I had. I finally ended up having my in person consult and it was very helpful and my questions were answered thoroughly. I was able to get my surgery scheduled the same week and was provided with all sorts of info to prep for the surgery. When I arrived on surgery day, I was a little nervous but Catalina at the front desk was very kind and walked me through everything including what I had to review, what medicines I would be taking, and what aftercare would be like. Now onto the surgery. My experience was okay overall given the laser process was quick and the uncomfortable pressure on the eyes was tolerable but Dr. Mcglothan who was performing the surgery was curt and seemed annoyed to have to repeat himself when I said something was uncomfortable or hurting. It definitely made the process worse. This may be routine for him but he must be forgetting the people he is operating on are new to the procedure and have also forked over a lot of money. Maybe have some empathy for those 15 min you're lasering away people's eyeballs??? Anyways, post surgery- my eyes are dry as to be expected but with all the drops they give you I expect them to be back to normal in time. I do have broken blood vessels aka the red spots on my eyes but I've been told it's normal and these will go away as my eyes heal. Additionally, my slight uneven vision between eyes is supposed to heal and be fixed as time goes on. Looks like only time will tell. read more

It's been 3 months since my eye surgery, and I can now see 20/20 in 2022. They don't take insurance, so see if you can negotiate a deal - or wait for one of their many promotions. The staff was extremely professional and made me comfortable throughout my experience. Dr. Horn preformed my procedure, and I was in and out of the office within an hour. I was warned that there might be side effects like dry eyes and seeing halos, but honestly haven't experienced much, if any. I've had glasses since the third grade and now one day day later I have 20/20 vision!

They gave me Advil pm to help me get sleepy and with the pain before the operation. When I first go into the operating room, they have you try to read a clock without glasses and I couldn't even see the hands of it. Then they numbed my eyes with drops during the process so it didn't hurt during. It was scary though- they put a suction cup on my eyes and I couldn't see for the first laser. It felt like a heavy weight pushing into my eyes but no pain just discomfort. And they held my eyes open with clip things for the second laser. The doctor was touching my eyes a lot with some sort of stick thing, I couldn't feel it though. It was all happening so quick, they give you a stress football to squeeze which helped a lot bc I was panicking not being able to see or move; I just tried to focus on my breathing. The doctor kept talking to me during the entire process to make it easier for me, he would be like 'you've only got 10 seconds left, I'll count you down!' which helped a lot. Then they had me look at the clock again- the vision the first 24hours is super blurry (similar to when I don't have glasses on) but even so, this time I could read the time on the clock! Then they put goggles on me and I waited for Courtney to come get me. 5 min after the procedure, the numbing drops wore off and my eyes started stinging bad. They said that is normal. Gave me more numbing drops and told me to try and go to sleep asap. Went home, took melatonin and bam- slept till now. I gotta do antibiotic eyedrops 4 times a day this week and regular eye drops 4 times a day for a month, also take eye hydration pills 2 in morning, 2 at night. Then I just gotta sleep and shower with goggles on; absolutely no touching my eyes (which is hard for me bc I rub them all the time normally). My vision is still pretty blurry today so far but they say it'll clear up within the week and will be constantly getting better for the next 6 months as my eyes heal. And that's all! read more

Right off the bat, it's nice they validate parking for you! My consultation was a couple months ago and the doctor was so kind. I was able to have nice conversation, which is super helpful when calming the nerves. He even prescribed me specific meds to help my eyes, as I work in a hospital, which I really appreciated. I had my procedure done a couple days ago and it was great! The facility is really clean and organized. The employees are very knowledgeable. When I went in for the procedure, the doctor and the other woman helping him were so kind and understanding. I was really nervous, but I felt like I could really trust them. The procedure is super quick as well! They give you all the meds you need and goggles and sunglasses for post-op care. I now have 20/20 vision, which is so crazy! read more

PLEASE READ I got Lasik done about two years ago and got it done at the LasikPlus Lincoln Park center. The produce was fast and painless, but after the drugs wore off the pain was intense. In my experience the healing process was not comfortable at all. My friend and her mother got Lasik done too, but at a different location, the one in the OakBrook center and let me tell you that their post procedure follow up was completely different from mine. I was given all the necessary drops, goggles, pills and instruction on how to take care of my eyes, but was never scheduled a follow up appointment. Which I should have found strange, but I was too naive to ever question it. Mind you, I was about 23 years old when I went to get it done. I just think it's strange that I spent all this money on the procedure and never got any type of treatment to follow up my surgery. Granted, in some part it was my fault, but on the other hand as an institution that cares for their patients they should have at least tried to reach out and see what happened. Especially, knowing there was never any post surgery follow up appointment made. They never tried to reach out, never cared about what happened to me after surgery. Now that I'm talking to one of my friend about her experience in the Oakbrook center she told me that she had several follow up appointments and her surgeon even gave her his number just in case there was any problems. Her and her mother got the same attentive care that I never received in the Lincoln Park center, AT THE SAME COST. So if you're looking to get Lasik done, I would HIGHLY recommend to opt for going to the Oakbrook center, instead of the Lincoln Park location. It seems like they go above and beyond to care for their patients, not only before surgery, but also after surgery. They don't just take your money and forget about you, like they did with me. Knowing this information now infuriates me and I hope no one has to go through this experience. The reason why I chose the Lincoln Park center over Oakbrook was because I live in Chicago and at the time didn't have a car, so getting to Oakbrook was a hassle. I recommend you to go the extra mile and get better care at the Oakbrook center, it's totally worth it. Don't ever put yourself in a position where your physician does not care about your well being. Thankfully I was super careful and followed all the instructions to the T and healed properly. I cant imagine how stressful it would have been if it didn't, epecially having to deal with someone who didn't care about me to beginning with. read more
