My reason for notorious search for the right doctor is very simple. Modern medicine practices are about money and continuous treatment instead of cure. Visits to doctors reminds me assembly line with 5 minutes time per part-patient. Yes sometimes there is no cure and continuous treatment is necessary and in such case you have to have a doctor who knows his field who will spend with you more than 5 minutes and take everything you have to say about your condition into consideration to make proper diagnosis and prescribe effective treatment. .After several visits to Dr Ahuja I concluded that he is the doctor whom I should visit 22 years ago and I am positive that half of my eye problems would likely never happen because I concluded as well that half of my problems were created by..........eye doctors. Dr Ahuja dedicates to you as much time as needed if it's 15 minutes or an hour. He has ability and patience to explain your problems advise and prescribe proper treatment if needed, He will answer all your question in language that you will understand. Even Though I am still seeing different eye specialists I still want to know what dr Ahuja's opinion is and have more complete explanation-picture about my condition and prescribed treatment. If you have any kind of eye problems I would highly recommend to start with Dr Richard Ahuja. No, I did not omit his personality in this review, its marked at the very top and measured in stars.

Surgery: 5 stars I…read morehad a droopy eye lid so my optometrist recommended I see Dr. Weiss for surgery to correct the problem. He was incredibly knowledgable about all aspect of the surgery and explained in great detail how the operation was going to be performed and what recovery was going to be like. He was so good with the operation that after my eye healed, I wanted to get it done to my other eye just because of how great of a job he did. Absolutely fantastic work. Logistics: 1 star I called in April to set up my surgery for Sept as they needed extra lead time to get it approved by my insurance. Then two months later, in June, I switched jobs so I called them to let them know my insurance had changed. They confirmed the change on their end so I thought everything was all set. Fast forward to a couple of weeks before my surgery when they called me and said that no one contacted my new insurance company for approval so now I have to reschedule my appointment to two months later. Wtf, I specifically called after my new job just so this stuff could be taken care of but clearly no one did. During consultation, they told me that my operation was covered by insurance because my droopy lid blocked my vision. However, they never told me that I had a deductible and I found out months later in a bill they sent So basically, you're telling me that during all of those times when I was there talking to the doctor, setting up appointments and playing phone tag to get my insurance worked out, you never bothered to explain to me how much this was actually going to be paid? After paying for my deductible with my FSA card over the phone, I told them to mail me the receipt so that I can submit the claim. Of course instead of sending me the itemized receipt that every person using FSA would need, they send me the credit card one which can't be submitted as FSA proof. So I have to call again and wait for another letter. Lastly, while Dr Weiss was great, his assistant isn't. When I was brought into the office, she asked me if I had high blood pressure. I answered no to which she responded with more questions about my exact blood pressure measurement. When I couldn't give her a number, seeing as how I can't measure my own blood pressure off the top of my head, she just made one up and wrote it on my chart! So in conclusion, 5 stars for Dr Weiss and his work, 1 star for all of the logistics surrounding my surgery.

Barely a-ok. BARELY. I saw Dr. Doren because I thought I had some sort of infection in my eye. I…read morehad gone to Physicians immediate care a day earlier and they had misdiagnosed my issue as allergies. The doctor was very nice, and seemed very capable. He diagnosed two different issues and wrote me a scrip, then booked for me to come back a few days later to see how well my eye responded to the medication. I had to do a full round of antibiotics and put cream on my eyeball. I am now healed from that issue, so that part is A-ok. My issue with this office has more to do with their "office policies". First of all, I was annoyed that the Dr. kept trying to get me to come back over and over for expensive office visits to confirm that the treatment was working. If I hadn't said no for the 3rd visit I would still be paying for office visits to this day as my insurance doesn't cover office visits completely. I had already paid a couple hundred bucks to get my eye fixed with insurance if that tells you anything. What prompted me to write this review was the way they handled the next issue. I received a bill from the place where I was misdiagnosed (never saw a doctor, just an arrogant nurse guy who barely looked at me). The bill was inflated and that pissed me off so I called them to see if they could make an adjustment for the misdiagnosis and bad service I got since they were billing me a few hundred bucks too. They said they would need a fax from Dr. Doren's office stating what the actual diagnosis and treatment was so they could proceed. I called Dr. Doren's and asked them to send this info and she agreed. A few days later I get a call from Physican's Immediate care about the info they received. Seems Dr. Doren's office just sent a scribble from a prescription pad with the prescription on it. Frankly, I think this should be enough, but that is for another review, but they said they needed my records which should include the findings, including the diagnosis and the treatment prescribed. I called Dr. Doren's office back to ask that she do this and she sighed heavily for being put out apparently and said she would "have to speak to Dr. Doren" about this and that there would be a $15 charge to release my records because this takes "extra time". Jesus H. I said, well then can I just have my own records then since I've paid for this already? and she said, No, it's still $15 to get my own records released. I have a file of all of my medical records, blood work results, etc etc and have never had to pay one red cent for them. I do not understand what is the big deal of helping one of your patients resolve this issue. Instead they see it as an opportunity to nickel and dime me to death. I'll seriously have to reconsider whether or not I will return to this Doctor again because of how unhelpful they have been with this situation. It's a small office, no nurse, just the person at the front and the doctor and they are conducting business like it's a giant bureaucratic establishment. I am very disappointed. This is why I deducted 2 stars, for adding more expense and bureaucracy to an already annoying situation. Thanks Guys.

My friend credits Dr. Joseph Garber with saving her vision when she came back from vacation with a detatched retina, so she called to see if I could get in for an emergency appointment. Nora numbed my affected eye to gently measure my eye pressure, gave me a vision test, and then documented my detailed optical history, symptoms, and pharmacy to call in prescriptions. Dr. Rogers came in shortly after. She was warm & compassionate as she thoroughly looked in both eyes. She prescribed me 3 different things, to be thorough. By the next day, I was feeling much better. I found Dr. Goldstick through the web when he was recommended by a retiring eye doctor. I couldn't be more pleased with the choice. I have a history of wearing contacts since I was 14, glasses since I was 4 and have a complicated prescription. My contacts and my eye sight need more than the average eye exam and I usually need to get either new glasses or new contacts every year or 2 years. I wanted a doctor who understood my background and could continue to advise me moving forward. First of all.. Dr. Goldstick is so down to earth, gentle, funny and very kind. He takes his time with every patient and makes sure that all of your questions are answered. My exam lasted less than an hour, he was on time and his staff was super sweet. He was very thorough and made sure that we talked about everything.. from reading glasses (ah-hem.. age) to the possibilities for eye surgery. But he was never pushy and in fact suggested strongly that I do not consider eye surgery until he sees more advancement for the type of lens replacement surgery that I would need. (I'm not a LASIK candidate). On top of it all, he didn't even suggest that I get new glasses or contacts.. rather he gave me a special cleaner for my contacts to try for now instead of pushing me to buy new lenses. The bottom line is that he is very practical, he listens to you and will be honest with his advice and he is not pushing you into purchasing anything. He really cares about his patients and he is just a joy to see. I highly recommend him to anyone.
