Incredible Customer Service from Stephanie, Dafneth, and Dr. Bruce. They have a good selection of frames that I was interested in and fast delivery time when ordering the frames in a different color. Also Stephanie pointed out that my insurance covered more than sufficient for ray ban sunglasses which was something that stood out to me that benefited me in choosing better frames. I walked in today to ask a question, both employees gave me an attitude for no reason.

They always have a "will return" sign on the window and are never back by the time they say they will be, times are wrong and can never get an appointment, one I cancelled and the second one they called me to cancel for x reason, now I cant get an appointment???? I'm back to school Monday and I haven't even gotten my contact prescription right. They also forgot to order my try out contacts and I found out by calling back about 1-2 months after, even then I wasn't mad, crap happens you know? At least the Latinas and Dr.Le working there are extremely nice. Def won't be back after getting my prescription though. As a young person I am very patient and understanding but its gotten ridiculous. I got other responsibilities and to not be able to get my sight right makes me very mad and disappointed. Dr. Le is the best! I've been seeing her for a few years now, and even followed her here from a different shop. She has a memory like an elephant, which makes for a great customer experience and gives me total confidence in the care she provides. She takes time to understand my lifestyle and individual needs to make thoughtful recommendations, and she explains things thoroughly and in ways that are easy to understand. First off, let me say that this review is mainly about Lilly! From the moment I walked in, until I left (and various phone calls later) she was so nice and efficient. She handled everything that she did with outstanding professionalism, and a sincere care/concern for me. It appeared to me that she wears many hats in her position, all of which she handled seamlessly. Oh, let me not forget to say how very nice she was as well! The only reason that I did not give 5 stars was due to the lack of on-hand inventory of frames. Even with that being said, Sandra offered for me to wait for their next shipment (2-3 weeks) to come back and select a pair I wanted. I want to write both a 5 star review for the initial visit with Dr. Nguyen. He was great!!!! However his staff NEEDS to do better and is a disservice to his practice as well as Dr. Le. I understand this is COVID times but the way in which we have to call to get into the storefront is a bit overkill. It's a small shop and you can see a person walk up to the door. A person has to call and they pick up and then they walk about 100 feet to open the door and won't let you in with a mask. Hospitals even let you just walk in with a mask! It just feels uninviting. Friendliness aside (some are, some aren't), the staff is BAD BAD BAD at follow up and follow through. My daughter broke off one of her nose pads and we went over the the office - Sandra stood outside the door to say she would need to research it and see if we could even order those for her particular glasses. That she would call me and let me know. No call was given. I waited about 4 days then I called and no notes in my daughters account about the nose pads - the person who answered said she would call or talk to the person I described that took my information. Turns out that Sandra lost my information and reason she didn't call which also meant she didn't do the research and nose pads didn't get ordered. This lost about a weeks worth of time. She finally ordered my pads and took my payment on 8/9 and I still haven't received them. I am very concerned they weren't even ordered on that day as I do not trust that staff at all. 8/18: I just got off the phone with the person who answered phone, she had to call Sandra to even check if she ordered it since there are no notes on the account. I immediately said, "You shouldn't have to call someone who is on their day off and their should be notes in account - "your customer service is so poor and when a customer complains, you empathize and extend an apology and maybe say you'll do better." She gave no apology and just said that she wasn't the one who helped me. I pulled my corporate trainer and sales manager hat on and gave her a lesson on proper customer care and being the ambassador of that business when speaking with customer. I give businesses chances and I normally only write a bad review when warranted and THIS IS warranted. read more

We found an optometrist that takes Tricare prime and that does not make you pay them BEFORE they get paid. We went to another optometrist ( Dr. Jasmine Nguyen, also in City Heights) for a few years now and upon research this is not what all offices MUST do to get paid. ( more about that later) Anyhow, my son says: They treated him very kind. He was able to go take care of his eyes for his first time wearing contacts and for an eye exam. Optometrist was very nice and informative. I'm new to San Diego and I'm glad I found a good optometrist just a couple blocks from home. Tip: There is no parking lot. I was up for an eye exam and since my insurance was up for renewal and I was paying out of pocket, I was in search of a Dr. that could offer me something quick and affordable. After calling around to a few Costco's (where I was not satisfied with the attention or care that I had previously received), I found Dr. Toth and I couldn't be happier! To top things off, I found an online coupon online through doctorscoupons.com (you have to sign up but it's worth it) which put him at the best price in town for an eye exam. Not one to sacrifice quality for price, I called for an appointment, the staff was extremely friendly and told me that they could take me that same day. I went in and was attended to immediately. Dr. Toth was friendly, very professional and knowledgeable. He explained everything to me and gave me great eye care advice. I really appreciated that they did not try to upsell me, the overall level of professionalism and the fact that he actually seemed genuinely concerned with my eye care. While I really liked the optometrist himself (super friendly, very professional and takes his time with you), his receptionists aren't the very best. I called in to check a return policy for my new glasses, which won't stay on my face. Solid frames are sliding off of my face constantly, even after being adjusted. The woman puts me "on hold" and hangs up on me instead. I call back and suddenly, she can't hear me, I call back a third time and she explains that there is no return policy on glasses. The receptionist are not at all friendly, I don't even think I've seen them smile once, and not having a return policy seems ridiculous. I wouldn't recommend purchasing glasses through them, but getting a normal check up with the doc would be great. read more

One star to customer service I just got right now from Leslie!! Really rude and unprofessional when i was inquiring about fee's to refill my daughters contact RX! I get glasses through medical and usually pay out of pocket for contacts. I am aware medical does not pay for contacts and I am a returning customer willing to pay and she would not book and refuse to Re-use my debit information from the prior visit! She let her personal moods and understanding of things get in the way of her job and I don't appreciate her confronting me that I was the one being rude! I was referred here by a good friend and I'm so happy I went! Dr Toth and staff are very friendly and helpful. I've been wearing glasses since I was 8 and contacts since I was a freshman in high school. So I've had a few eye doctors already! Office is a little small but very well kept. Went to get contact fitting. Supposedly my insurance had changed and I had no idea. They did an extremely poor job of communicating this with me. Went in for a fitting to get contact lenses. The appointment itself went great and the optometrist was very professional and knowledgeable. Leaving the office the first time I had no complaints. However the issue arose when I tried to place an order for contacts. Admittedly I had to cancel a follow up appointment wherein I was told I could order contact lenses. Several months passed by as I was studying for the bar exam and all of life was on hold. I called in today to see when I could come in for a follow up appointment and when I could place an order for the contact lenses and the receptionist at the front office told me that I have to go through the entire initial consultation process again, and would be charged for another eye exam, fitting and lenses. Although it is undeniably my fault for having to cancel the follow- up appointment, it is absolutely absurd to say that because someone could not make it to their appointment that their eye consultation and fitting for contact lenses is no longer valid and they will have to start the process all over and will be charged all off the fees again. All I want to do is order contact lenses from the eye exam that I already had. This whole situation is quite a shame because Dr. Toth was great, but the militant policies of the office requiring you to start over due to a missed appointment has certain lost my business. Overall if you're looking for an optometrist that is reasonable when extenuating circumstances arise, look elsewhere. read more
