Prior to seeing Dr.Bruce Nguyen I wasn't too concerned with my prescription and the increases in my vision as I thought it was just normal with age. However, he has been so informative and an advocate for me to stabilize my vision prescription. Dr.Nguyen introduced me to Ortho K and the benefits and it took me about a year to get onboard. Dr. Nguyen and his crew are competent, patient, and kind. I have been going to his practice for three years and only have nice things to say. I feel confident that Dr. Nguyen gets my prescription correct each year and I really appreciate how he takes the time to explain preventative care for my eyes and why I need to do it. He is in network for my VSP insurance and normally my copays are minimal which is an added bonus. I am really picky when it comes to my doctors (I've switched dentists and primary care doctors until finding ones that I like) and I'm sticking with Dr. Nguyen, he is really great! Not only Doctors Bruce Nguyen, care for your wellbeing he conducted a follow up on event that could chant your life. Please spend the extra $39, for the deep retinal exam. It is worth the $39 dollars. I had this done twice last year and this year. Always think about saving money. Within a year, I developed a Horseshoe tear in my retina. I've been coming to Clairemont Optometry for the last three years, & got my husband checked out here as well. My experience has always been stellar. Dr. Nguyen always educates me when it comes to eye health. I had no idea my eyes could get sun spots, but they can. Photos were taken of my eyes & it was scary to look at, but it felt good to know there were things I could do to reverse it. My glasses now transition when I go outside & it takes the stress off of needing separate sunglasses. One thing I mentioned to Dr. Nguyen was it was important to have some durable sunglasses that aren't easily snapped. Having a newborn at the time and a now toddler, I'm so happy I mentioned it to him. My son has bent, thrown, stepped, & sat on my glasses & the glasses still look just as good as when I left. When the time comes, I'm excited to bring my son in so he can have his eyes checked! Both my husband & I love our glasses. They were on time, had a comfortable couch where I could wait (since I got there early), the exam was thorough, and the frames were well organized so that I could easily identify which were covered 100% by my insurance, versus $20 copay, $40 copay, etc. Their location is easy to find, right off the 15, and there is plenty of parking.
