Beyond STELLAR experience! Came here to get prescription lens on three designer frames. We received concierge-level service from the staff from the get-go, but particularly after we experienced a mishap due to manufacturing issues outside of the optometrist's control. This is when Alan, the owner and a true gem of a human, did everything he could to remedy the situation that he wasn't at fault for to begin with. He and his staff turned what would've been a sour situation into one of the most memorable optometrist visits we've had in our whole life - no exaggeration. Extremely thoughtful, generous, and thorough. We will continue coming to this location for life. Thank you, Alan, and to your entire team. We LOVE our new glasses and the gift of vision that you blessed us with! read more

Dr. Jason Tu is very professional and personable. State of the art equipment to exam your eyes.

I chose Vision Boutique Optometry in San Diego based on positive reviews, but my experience was extremely disappointing. While the optometrist was professional and knowledgeable, the front-desk staff were the complete opposite rude, disorganized, and untrained. My $900 glasses were ordered incorrectly twice, taking over a month to receive, and when they finally arrived, the frames broke within days. The staff showed no accountability, no apology, and no sense of urgency to fix the issue. The manager, Alan, was never available, and calls were never returned. This office clearly lacks customer service, leadership, and basic professionalism. If you only need an eye exam, fine but if you value respect, competence, or timely service, go elsewhere. read more

The Staff here is welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly. I've been visiting Dr. Tu for all my vision needs for over a decade. He's gone above and beyond for me in every single visit. Thank you Dr. Tu and all your staff! read more

The only reason I generously gave Vision Boutique a 2 star rating is because all of the staff were very friendly. This was the bright light of the visit. I was absolutely shocked at the price charged for services. I do not have insurance. I went for a yearly eye exam and to get my contacts prescription, so I could purchase my yearly contacts. The price for this was $960. For an eye exam and contact prescription? Almost $1,000 dollars for this yearly, routine service? I have had contacts for 40 years, with yearly exams. This price is completely outrageous. I complained about how astronomical this was, and all I got were blank stares. If you want to be completely over charged to get your eyes examined, this is your place. read more

The entire staff is extremely personable as well as professional. Dr. Tu spent a lot of time with me to address my concerns.

Dr. Reeder and his staff were great as usual, pleasant and accommodating! Thanks for the great service

First visit to this office and saw Dr. Reeder. The exam was comprehensive and a thorough explanation was provided regarding the health of my eyes. Office assistants are incredibly helpful and kind. Overall, exceptional experience at Vision Boutique. read more

Dr Dale was really the kindest doctor I have ever met. I've worked in Healthcare for 15 years and have not come across a doctor with so much humility and kindness. He took the time with me to go over my eyes thoroughly and gave me a proper prescription. Im going to refer everyone I know that needs eye health taken care of to this mans office! Front staff was very mellow and kind ( 2 women). Thank you again! read more

Great place. Great service.... very happy they are close to me because finding a caring, skilled optometrist - who you can go see for glasses, eye care, eye issues, injuries... really anything involving the eyes - is hard. A plus read more

Poor service, poor selection of frames, fees absolutely not explained ahead of service. Find somewhere else.

Great and thorough exam. Very pleasant and quick. I really appreciate how everything about my eye health was explained.

I was a little worried when Dr Koers retired because he was excellent. But he left us in good hands. Dr Russo is lovely. She is professional, caring and a very good optometrist. read more

First and foremost, I have been a regular patient at this clinic for quite some time, and I have always thought that the staff, including Dr. Russo - or whatever her name is - were very nice. However, my recent visit was so terrible that I not only decided never to come here again, but I also wrote my first-ever review to warn the public about my experience. To give you a quick summary, I wanted to switch from my soft contact lenses to a type of special contact lenses called 'scleral lenses,' which are quite expensive. However, since I am a retired NFL player, I am eligible to receive them for free. During my last visit, we had discussed these lenses and the different options available, such as augmented reality. I brought this up to Dr. Russo, but she denied ever mentioning it and claimed that such lenses don't exist. I knew that she had told me about it, so I showed her some information I had found online. After seeing this, she became defensive and dismissive, telling me that she doesn't offer that service and that I should go somewhere else. Her tone was so disrespectful that I wanted to cuss her out but decided to be the bigger man and thanked her for wasting my time. If a doctor was the disrespectful to me how could I ever let them treat me. This experience was so bad that I have decided to file a complaint against her with the corporate office. My wife and kids will never go to this clinic again, and I will make sure to warn others about it too." read more

Fantastic optometrist! Dr Reeder and staff are very professional & knowledgeable. He takes his time and answers all your questions.

Excellent service, office staff was very friendly. Dr was very knowledgeable and detailed on explaining every step. Very satisfied will definitely return for the annual exam. read more

Amazing find, especially during these volatile times and stores shutting down. I was in desperate need for frames as I had recently broken my eyeglasses. I went to around 6 stores around San Diego and couldn't find any decent pairs until stopping by Vision Boutique. The receptionists were professional, cordial, and had strict SOPs for patient intake which I appreciated during this time. Great selection of frames; they had the newest brands with very tasteful selections in a broad range of sizes to accommodate all ethnic face structures. Dr. Koers may just be my new favorite eye doc. Meticulous, detailed and humorous; my kind of person! read more

Professional and caring team. Dr Kevin Reeter has been my doctor for over 15 years. I recently followed him to this location and was so happy. His caring but thorough attitude is a breath of fresh air. From the intake to choosing my eye glasses, everyone treated me like a VIP. Would very highly recommend this practice. read more

Dr. Reeder and Staff super professional and knowledgeable. Office has the latest technology to see the health of your eyes and super clean. No waiting doctor was on time and took time with me. Highly Recommend Vistion Boutique. read more

Dr. Russo is great -- super knowledgeable and most importantly takes the time to explain all issues (even minor stuff) in high levels of detail. The practice also boasts high-tech equipment, but it is nice that Dr. Russo complements the fancy diagnostics with the thorough "old school" eye exam that we are all used to. Despite the thoroughness the practice always seems to run on time and runs very efficiently. As a bonus the staff happily cleaned and adjusted a very old (but costly) pair of glasses for me which I haven't been able to wear in years due to a bent frame -- they're are back in mint condition and I can wear them again! read more

Went in for my annual, friendly and comprehensive checkup. Dr Russo is very keen on asking questions and having answers. Thanks!

Very friendly and efficient staff. Dr Russo was extremely thorough and pleasant. Had great advice for treating my condition. I will definitely go back. read more

I am not one that normally writes reviews but I have had such a wonderful experience here that I felt compelled to leave a review. I would highly recommend Dr Russo at Vision Boutique Optometry. She goes above and beyond and always exceeds my expectations. She is knowledgeable, professional and very warm and caring. She is great at communicating what she is doing to your eyes and she listens! In October she recommended that I start using progressive glasses. I was not thrilled about this since I have heard lots of negatives. She took the time to talk me through this decision. It ended up being a great choice. I will be going back to Dr Russo for all of my eye care needs! read more

Best eye exam I've ever had! Dr. Russo is incredibly knowledgeable, answered all my questions, and also helped me understand some other concerns I had that hadn't been previously addressed by other optometrists I have visited. The front office staff were also on top of it, making my onboarding as a new patient painless. I left feeling confident my vision was in good hands. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Koers for almost a decade now & cannot recommend Vision Boutique enough! Dr. Koers is the most professional, kind and knowledgeable eye doctor I've ever been to. He always greets me & his patients with a smile, & I never feel rushed when I am in an appointment with him. He always takes time to explain things to me and answer questions. On several occasions when I've had eye emergencies over the years, he has responded so quickly & professionally, never making me feel like I'm bothering him. Summer at the front is amazing. She is so genuine & professional, & always smiling. The entire staff is incredible. I just had my yearly visit today, and was blown away by how awesome the staff were. The office is pristine (clean) for COVID safety, w/ everyone wearing masks. I will happily continue as a patient for as long as this office exists. Thank you, Vision Boutique! :) read more

I had another great exam today at Vision Boutique. I had been a big fan of Dr. Koers through his retirement, and now I am equally fond of Dr. Russo and her team. They gave me a thorough exam, explained everything to me in plain language, and did not try to sell me glasses when the slight change in my eyesight did not warrant spending money on new glasses. Dr. Russo is super cheerful and makes the appointment enjoyable. read more

Poor service ever since Dr Koers left. I have been going there and my kids for 3 years and will not update my contact prescription unless I come. That means I have to pay out of pocket even though I was just there. What a rip off and then the receptionist hung up on me. I called last week and the Doctor doesn't come in until Thursday. I have spent so much money there, shame on me! read more

Just moved to SD, and was looking for a new eye doctor to help me with my vision/eye needs. Very satisfied with the entire process! I've interned at an optometry practice before, and the entire flow for how this practice operated was much faster than where I worked. Shoutout Dr. Russo! read more

I was unsure after Dr Koers retired however my appointment with Dr Russo was fantastic. She was very knowledgeable and I felt that my eyes were in good hands. The selection of eye ware is fabulous as an added bonus. I highly recommend. read more

I was looking for a local optometrist since I've moved to Carmel Valley and I'm so happy I landed at Vision Boutique! Dr. Koers and his team are incredibly friendly and I appreciate that Dr. Koers educates his patients along the way. My previous optometrist kind of left me in the dark with my slight astigmatisms and I didn't really understand why I couldn't see as well as I thought I should be able to, and why I didn't qualify for astigmatism lenses. Dr. Koers explained the different levels of astigmatism to me, even let me try an astigmatism lense (still not quite ready to switch to those!) and ended up recommending a different brand of contacts that would help counteract some of the astigmatism symptoms and be a better fit for my eye. He worked hard to get my prescription just right and I can see better than I have in years, despite always having an annual exam. As long as I'm living in SD, Vision Boutique will be my go-to optometrist and I will recommend them to anyone who asks! Thank you Dr. Koers and team! read more

Dr Russo took over Vision Botique a little over a year ago. The former optometrist was great and she is also fantastic. She really cares about making sure that her patients needs are met. read more

By reading the Yelp reviews, one would think my choice in eye doc's was a poor one. However, I'm thinking I was pretty smart to come here. (I chose it because of it's close proximity to my office and the fact I like to give local businesses my dough) First impressions were fine, nothing great. Friendly staff, clean office, the basics. I did my paperwork and was asked to sign a form stating that I had to pay for a couple of exams that my insurance didn't cover. That scared me because my first thought was that it was going to be an expensive annoying visit. Then they took me back for 4 tests and all was fine. Then I got to meet with Dr. K. He was SUPER cool, SUPER informative, and you could really tell he cared about his patients. I specifically asked about contacts and he basically told me that it would be a waste of my money. (agghhh....love when people are honest) After the exam, he sent me out to be fitted for my glasses and the search started. The lady who helped me with my glasses (can't remember her name) was so incredibly patient and honest. I basically told her she had to tell me if I looked like a geek or not since I wasn't the best judge of that. LOL She spent a lot of time with me finding regular glasses and sunglasses. After putting her through the ringer, I made my choices. She then did some calculations to figure out which way would be less expensive for me. I really appreciate that they look out for their patients in this way. I'm not made of money, and anything I can save is truly appreciated. Thanks for the great service, see you shortly when my glasses come in!! read more

Dr. Russo was very thorough and amazing. Alyssa was very helpful too! We had a great experience during our office visit.

I recently broke my only pair of glasses and needed new ones in a pinch. Everyone at Vision Boutique was so accommodating. I would definitely go back and recommend to anyone looking for an optometrist. read more

I've gone to Vision Boutique for years. It is a well run office with a friendly staff. Now that Dr Russo has taken over, I'd still recommend Vision Boutique.
