Just switched to this shop from My Eye Dr and I'm so happy I did! Vision Boutique has a great selection and, more importantly, the folks there were really helpful as I picked out a new pair of glasses. I love my Lindberg glasses but they're super expensive and I was hoping to find a lightweight second pair that weren't a million dollars. Whitney and Yaxeni were so lovely. I told them I was looking for a backup pair of glasses with more of an "I'm wearing glasses" feel and they totally understood me. They gave me honest (yet kind and gentle) feedback like "I think those are too big for your face, maybe try this brand because it has a narrower width" or "I think this tortoise shell matches your coloring better and still has a bold feel". SO HELPFUL!!!! When I found a pair that I really liked, but they were plastic frames and kind of slid on my nose, Yaxeni suggested a perfect alternate that didn't slip. She could have just BS'd me that they could fix the slipping, but instead she just matched me up with a better fit. Thank you Yaxeni and Whitney for your great customer service!! So I had a really good experience here yesterday. I hadn't had my eyes checked in a couple years and was kinda nervous because this time I wasn't only going for glasses but also contacts. I was lucky enough to be helped by Whitney, who answered a bunch of questions, made me feel comfortable and sat with me for a long time while I figured out how to take my contacts on and off. I was examined by Dr. Susol who helped me understand the different types of contacts and let me know about some situations going on with my eyes that I was oblivious too. And lastly, but not least, Jamey helped me choose my new lenses and helped set me up with a package that helped bring my cost down to more than half. I've been going to the retail stores for my eye exams where they do a quick exam and making me think my vision is much worse than it is. After my exam here I found out I was given a prescription higher than what I actually am all this time! Besides the accurate and comforting eye exam I was given a sample of the newest soft daily lenses to try out. I'll be ordering more of them. Artisan Eyecare is the best experience I've ever had at an optometrist. Their location is very convenient for me and I had no problem setting up my appointment through their website. Dr. Hong is very thorough and professional and did an excellent job of explaining what he was doing (and why) during the course of the exam. He even sent me a handwritten thank you note afterwards. Classy touch! The staff, Eric and Madeline, also do a great job of greeting you and helping you pick out frames from the many they have on display. I wanted to keep the current frames for my prescription sunglasses, and they gladly accommodated that request. My new glasses arrived quickly (less than a week), and my lens prescription seems spot on. Finally, their prices seem competitive with other boutique eyecare places. Not as cheap as a big box store, but their customer service and quality of care are worth the extra money. I had a originally scheduled an appointment at Americas best. I didn't realize that my insurance was not accepted and out of net work. I was in urgent need of contacts. I searched near by who accepted my insurance and vision Boutique popped up first. I called to see availability and Whitney had answered. She answered all my questions and was able to add my daughter to the appointment list. Since I entered the store. It's such a clean environment. All the staff is friendly. After finally getting eye insurance, I figured it was time to replace my 6 year old glasses. I initially chose this place based on my insurance's recommendation and my desire for a provider that could refer me to laser eye surgery. The atmosphere is inviting and the staff is very friendly. I saw Dr. Hong for my eye exam. He was very professional and explained all parts of my exam. He was flexible to my needs during the exam. I was able to discuss pros and cons of use of contacts. Additionally, he clearly explained the process for laser eye surgery and ways to financially prepare. He was empathetic and understanding through the whole process. I was pleased with the selection of glasses. I had originally planned on visiting Costco for my glasses but ended up with a awesome pair of glasses here. My new glasses arrrived sooner than expected which was exciting. Overall, the whole staff was professional and transparent about the services provided and thier recommendations. This was my first time at vision boutique. I came here based on recommendations on Yelp i was excited to try a new vision place so close. I came here two weeks ago and I had a bad experience. I was not greeted upon arrival, it felt like everyone there was under training no one knew how to communicate. The front desk lady spent the whole time training her trainee and spent no time acknowledging or asking the proper questions to me as a new client. I felt rushed the entire time and everything was disorganized. Once they gave me the exam the doctor Amy and she never asked if I wanted contacts or glasses she just assumed.. after the exam I told her I wanted contacts and she immediately went on a rampage talking about the price which she was going to charge right away. That was my experience visiting Vision Boutique for an eye exam and new frames. I have only needed glasses for a few years, so I will admit to being pretty inexperienced. My last optometrist basically operated out of a closet, and I'm only just now realizing it doesn't have to be that way. The exam rooms here were really pleasant and the equipment they use is a lot better quality than places I'd been in the past. If that wasn't enough to make me a convert, they were all incredibly nice. I actually wasn't planning on buying frames, but their selection was so great and Brianna, who was helping me, was really lovely and constructive. If that's not good enough, at the end of my visit, it cost me about HALF of what I paid for frames and an exam at my last place. I'll definitely be back. read more

Dr. Hong was great, I didnt feel rushed at all. He explained everything to me and made sure I understood. Needless to say I did need corrective lenses. With Small Business Saturday upon us, and me getting ready for the holidays and doing a bit of cleaning, I was putting my last contact order away where it should be. Much to my surprise, there was a card inside my bag of contacts. It was a handwritten thank you note from Dr. Hong from when I visited Artisan in August for an annual eye exam. So, yeah, I'm a little delayed in this review. The note had incredibly specific information about what I shared during my exam, which goes to show the attention this office and Dr. Hong showed to me during my visit. I absolutely recommend this Dr. Hong for eye exams, and have even mentioned it to a few people. I hope businesses like this continue to thrive in the neighborhood. I was in Chicago and some of my friends were raving about this place so I decided to get an update on my prescription and check out some new frames. Dr. Wooldridge was outstanding. He was very professional and knowledgeable. The process wasn't a long one like most optometry offices I've had experiences with in the past. I spent over an hour trying to choose my frames and make the best decision. Dr Wooldridge and his assistant Eric were actually very enthusiastic when I tried on the frames that I looked best in--they actually played a huge part in my decision to even make a frame purchase there. I ended up buying a standard frame and sunglasses too, probably the most rad aviators I've ever purchased. For my standard glasses I went with the John Varvatos brand because they not only sit well on my face, they look amazing on me. For my sunglasses I went with the MODO brand and I've been given many compliments every day that I'm wearing them. The cost for frames is affordable and there are plenty of frames to choose from. I don't live local and I could have made the same purchase back home in LA but my friends who referred me to this place did not let me down. I wasn't very excited about getting new frames but the level of service and the excitement created for me by this office made a major impact on this decision. This was by far the best experience I have ever had with an optometrist and with an optometry office as a whole. When I'm in Chicago again I'll certainly be back. read more

They were very patient and accommodating of his mobility limitations - I was particularly impressed by his ability to provide an exam without using the usual equipment. They clearly explained the results of the exam and proactively adjusted his new frames so that he would not need to visit again when the glasses were ready.
