0 Stars if possible the white man in front desk idk if he's a manager or what he is, he was in the check in/out section. He is rude and nasty. We had a horrible service done to my mom. we did NOT get even remotely close to what she wanted and this man cut us off in the middle of our explanation to tell us he doesn't have time for this and he will never take us in again. He is a nasty person and the worst thing is that my mom left with her hair RUINED. and yes it was absolutely ruined. We just wanted to talk it out and find a new solution because we are visiting from out of town and don't have the time to stay there all day to fix it. my mom recently got her hair done and since it took longer than expected they weren't able to blow dry her hair so she left with wet hair because the store was closing for the day. Just to wake up the next morning with her roots not even done properly. she went to get color added and have her grays covered yet they were all showing. she paid for what should have been done properly but wasn't. she works a full time job in a medical clinic so she does not have availability whenever she wants. she had to schedule in advance to even have the opportunity to get her hair done. so when she saw that is was not even done correctly she had to try to make time which unfortunately was too late ? so she had to pay the hair color price with no discount. very upsetting. if it was done correctly in the first place there would not have been any problems. read more

I'm not a picky guy, so when I said "short on the sides and short on the back," I'd be okay with any variation of that. Especially if the only thing they do all day is to cut hair and gossip. Plus, at $35 for a guy's haircut, that should come with a back rub and beer. But what I got was a mullet and an uncut right side. My professional, studio director or whatever they call themselves, left my hair so long in the back that Steven Spielberg (an actual studio director) called me for a rerun of Back to the Future. I normally don't do yelp reviews, in fact this is my first one. That's how bad the service was for me today. I went in for my usual deep condition. I have a lot hair which happens to be thick and curly. I usually get a deep condition and a brush out for 10 dollars. Today, I don't know the name of the young lady but she was in the process of washing my hair. She asked me if I would like her to brush it out. I said sure. Another fellow male employee saw her brushing my hair out and decided to take part of the brushing process. He wanted to "help" her because I have a lot of hair or so it seems. She was a sweetheart and asked me if I was I rush and that she didn't want me to walk out with tangled hair. I kinda was but I wanted to get it over with. Close to an hour and they said I was "done". My hair felt very dry and the male stylist tried to upsell me by saying my hair is dry and I should buy their conditioner. Here's where I get angry. The woman took my paper and led me to the counter desk. I had cash in my pocket and I was ready to tip her. The male stylist then came and took the paper away. He went to the back and later returned to tell me my deep condition is 30 dollars. I was stunned and said okay. I asked the clerk why are they charging me 30 dollars. She told me it's up to the stylist. She went to grab the stylist and he told me that they charge a dollar per minute to brush my hair out. I told him I come here all the time to get the same exact process and I always pay 10. If i knew the fee, I wouldn't have done it! He just stood there and repeated the same thing. I was in a rush, so I just paid and left. It's really wrong to charge hidden fees like that. If you know it's going to cost more than usual, you should have told me from the jump. In fact, it makes it more wrong for him to take the paper away in order to charge me more. I didn't even ask for his help! I'm an honest guy and more than willing to pay the fair price. They didn't even fully detangle my hair! I still had knots and they audacity to charge me like that? My hair is dry and wasn't even properly conditioned! This is the last time I'm ever coming here again. It's so wrong because I met other genuine and honest hair stylists that didn't even dupe me like that. I don't know how their system works but I'm sure he wanted to match a quota. One stylist, just stylist messed everything up for me. Again, I won't come back. Be honest with your guests, and be straight up. You can get your money without being sneaky. First off - I love my highlights, cut and style. I stylists were professional and did an excellent job. HOWEVER - when I called in advance to get a price, I was told that the lowest price for highlights is $110 but could very possibly be higher. I would not know the actual price until I came for an appointment. A non-refundable deposit of $75 was required. Fees are added if it is a credit card. When I arrived for my appointment, I was told that $110 is for highlights just to the crown of my hair and about an inch or two down. Ten more dollars would pay for slightly more highlights. The cost went up in increments of $10 the more of my hair was highlighted. What I needed done would cost me $!80! This is $70 MORE than the price quoted. Kudos to my nice stylist who actually charged me $160 when she saw how sad I was. I feel that this was a bit of a bait and switch on the part of Visible Changes, especially as the $75 plus credit card fees leaves you stuck and with few options. Visible Changes needs to be up front with their pricing on the phone, on line and in person. I needed to be told "The lowest cost is $110, which pays for highlights at the crown of your head. Pricing increases in increments of $10 the farther down the highlights go. The cost of highlights for a head of hair, when your hair is slightly lower than shoulder length begins at $180 and goes up from there." In these days of soaring inflation, where the cost of groceries and gas hit our pocketbooks harder and harder, it is important to be up front with pricing so that consumers can make informed decisions. read more

I love this place and my hair stylist, Jennifer Pham, and would definitely recommend her. Unfortunately, today a weird situation occurred. This was my second time coming here, and when I arrived, I saw the same lady who had cut my hair last time. I made sure to ask the front desk if it was the same person and booked my haircut accordingly. After she checked, she asked if I wanted to book her, and I said yes, wanting exactly the same haircut as before. Only later did I find out that I was charged way more because she was a senior stylist. Why didn't anybody at the front desk inform me of this beforehand? When I asked the front desk to check my history, they didn't mention that this stylist was a senior. When I found out and asked why they didn't tell me, they simply said, 'You wanted exactly her.' I can't really say anything terribly favorable except that it didn't cost an arm and a leg. I haven't cut my hair in almost two years, so I was really apprehensive when I decided to get my hair cut (I have had some seriously awful cuts before). Part of my decision to go here was that they were open on a Sunday. I scheduled for 1:30. It kills me when I make an appointment and I'm not seen for 15 minutes. Why did I make an appointment then!? The guy who washed my hair was nice, and talked up my stylist (Jenny, I think?).... then I met her. I explained that I hadn't had my hair cut in ages. She barely spoke to me the whole time and was very short with me when I was trying to explain what I wanted. She did not put me at ease. Not sure if this is a turn off for anyone else, but the stylist at the station next to me spent the duration of my hair cut putting on makeup. I feel like thats really unprofessional, why didn't you handle that at home, and what are you doing at work that requires a reapplication? You're a freakin hairdresser! Most salons I've been to (including my nail salon!) offer a drink. Maybe this isn't standard practice? Or maybe my expectations were too high? In any case... The hair cut was so-so, I kind of regret going here - I wish I'd have waited and ponied up the money to go see Tiffany at M Salon. I left with a bad taste in my mouth and unhappy with my hair. I asked for a little longer than shoulder length and the dead ends trimmed in the front because the front was already shorter than the back and my hair is way shorter than my shoulders - basically at my neck. The manager was really nice and gave me a refund but I still have to leave this review to warn others because I don't want the same thing to happen to anyone else. I've cried all day and have never had anything like this happen with a haircut before. To make everything worse I'm just now seeing in the pictures I took that the back isn't even cut straight across it's cut at an upward angle and I asked for a straight across cut. Yesterday my wife went to get her hair done there and when she finished they told her they don't accept american express bc the fees are too high. I can't emphasize how big a joke that is. I own a chain of stores in a different industry with way lower margins and I pay anywhere from $2-4k/week per location in credit card fees. Regardless of why they don't accept amex who barely charges a whopping 1-1.5% more than visa/mastercard they made my wife wait while I was trying to give her my credit card number over the phone.....I was at the texans game and couldn't send a text with a pic bc there was no signal and it was so loud while I was trying to read her a CC number off a mastercard to give them What a joke We use amex for everything and most businesses besides a taco truck will take it, let me ask visible changes management this, if amex fees are so high, tell me how much lost business you face when people like my wife don't come back? She only came to you this time bc her normal hairdresser left so she was looking for a new one and you carried the awapuhi she likes to use.
