I like my color specialist, but finding someone that can actually do a simple blowout with round brush/brushes is impossible. All they want to do now is curl with a curling iron and drown your hair in hairspray. The front desk always says "oh, yeah so and so can definitely do that" just to book you and the person they suggested does nothing. I haven't found a decent stylist since Angie moved. I had the worst experience and I am now in regret for coloring my hair. I have been going here for years for cut and style. My whites were coming out, I wanted a new me so I decided to color my hair. The front desk recommended Eli to me so I went with her. We consulted for a while making sure she knew what I wanted. All I got was spongy dried up hair. I paid $500+ for this. I thought she knew what she was doing. I have never had this feeling in my hair in the past when I have colored my hair and I always got highlights. When I walked out it was okay i guess because it was styled but the next day it looked dried and felt horrible. The color looked overcooked. I called immediately to see what can I do. I spoke to the manager she just said come back and we can see what we can do within 6 days. I got back with Eli tried to stay calm in hopes it would get better but it didnt. I usually go to Milk & Honey for my hair cuts and blow outs. But because I decided that I needed a trim last minute, the only salon that had availability was Visible Changes (it makes sense why now). The girl who washed my hair was the only pleasant interaction during my visit. After that, it went down hill. My stylist was so aggressive with me for no reason. I knew as soon as she greeted me that she was not happy to be here. She kept tugging and pulling at my hair after I had told her that my hair is very fragile from over bleaching. She was very rough when she applied the leave in conditioner and when she blew dry my hair. She didn't even dust off hair that she cut from the gown I was wearing when she started blow drying my hair. Only when I was all done that she seemed happy to send me off. Going to the hair salon is usually a therapeutic experience for me but this time, I could not wait to get out of the chair. And the cherry on top of my visit was the receptionist. I accidentally did the math wrong when signing the tip and instead of letting me know, she decided to make a snarky comment about it. I wrote $12 tip on the receipt, but she gave me $11 in cash to hand to the stylist. When I asked her about it, she replied with, "If you want $12 then do the total math correctly." Wonderful experience! I took My 15 year old daughter in today for a bleach of her roots and a haircut. My daughter likes to get funky haircuts and color. Amanda Mahoney did a fabulous job bleaching her roots. Quick and efficient and she took care not to bleach the areas already there so her hair is still very healthy despite bleach. Beatriz cut her hair afterward and did a wonderful job. She captured what my daughter was after which was NOT a bob style. She made it "chunky" and lots of movement. My daughter said this is her favorite cut and that it looked so good leaving with it wet. Perfect air dry cut for a busy high school student. Highly recommend. Zero stars for the chemical specialist. If I knew her name I'd specify it here. Quick Tea: I went looking for a reddish copper color, discussed it with the colorist, and she gave me a dark brown burgundy color. Not at all what I was looking at! (See pictures) This is my first time I walked away from a salon irritated with tears. Full Tea: I came in on 01/12/2019 for a 3pm appointment. Everyone at this location was friendly. When I was discussing what I wanted with the colorist, she informed me the copper color wouldn't show very well but we can add one color to achieve something similar. I agreed to it but let it be clear she never specified it'd be a dark burgundy color on my hair. Also just to note I previously had a brown color in my hair with blonde highlights and but with little damage. When I saw the dark color on my hair. I informed her that the color is absolutely not what I wanted. The colorist and I spoke. I was being polite explaining that the color that was used did not turned out not how I wanted. She defended herself saying she had told me previously it wouldn't come out like I wanted and that she had previously showed me the color sample she was using. The color sample did not look burgundy, but my hair does. She mentioned the color will fade if I continue to wash it. Again, it's still not the color I want. She said she would have had to add bleach. I said ok, can we do that? She said no because of the damage, she would have to use different toners. I said ok can we do that? Then she said no, that initially, a light color should have been added then the red to achieve what I wanted. Why this wasn't done in the beginning is beyond me! She got her manager/supervisor and discussed the situation with the colorist. I was being polite, and honestly just looking for a way to fix this. I said it's a beautiful color she did on me but it's not what I was looking for. He mentioned everything she had previously told me. Again, my hair was previously colored treated but was not damaged as extremely as they were trying to make it out to be. They made it seem like my hair was beyond repair which is not the case at all. It started to feel like they were belittling me, mostly by the colorist. I left saying they are the hair experts and if they are stating there's nothing that can be done to fix my hair then I'm just going to pay for my color and go. I grabbed my purse and as I approached the receptionist the supervisor said I didn't have to pay. Bottom Line: I didn't pay for the services but now I have this hair color I never wanted. I was expecting the situation to be handled in a way where they can take responsibility and ownership. Instead, it must be easier for them to cross their arms and say there's nothing that can be done and cheaper to give a free hair color than to remove the color and adjust it to what I wanted it to be. read more

The last time I went to Houston Galleria and my hair color specialist whose name is Veronica was treated me extremely poorly and unprofessional . She assigned me with a person to shampoo my hair, interestingly she was assigned to do shampoo for another person at the same time . Since she had to take care of two person at the same time she even did not wash my hair properly and I could feel all shampoo and products on my scalps. GG managed to get my Asian hair that tends to get that orangey/red brown to the ash brown I've been dreaming about but never thought was possible--it's blended so well and looks so natural. I offered to go get my check at her office and allow her the opportunity to see first hand what the issues are...answer: " I'll have accounting mail it to you" Hopefully it won't be one of those "the check is in the mail" situation. Don't go there! 1. When I makes an appointment they charged me $75 fee in advance. On the day of my haircut they charged me additional cost and never deducted my $75 I payed in advance. 2. On the phone they quoted a haircut will cost $45 and I ended up paying $65 for it. To top it all off, my haircut is uneven !!!!!! I've could have downs better job myself. 3. My highlights turned out yellowish, never had that happen before by a professional. They also used extra product without asking and it added extra $$$ to my bill. I feel like this location has been around as long as I've been alive. Not true, but it's been here forever. Located on the RINK LEVEL right by where you heck in for ice skating. I used to come here ages ago when I couldn't afford high end salons and plus the location was great for me. There are hair cutters and colorests at all levels so it ranges in price...depending on the level of employee. There are pros and cons so let me start. Pros: 1) You can pretty much always get an appointment with someone. Whether is is going to be with one of the top levels I can't say, but there are are so many employees that you should be able get in. If you are concerned about a level, just ask The receptionist the number of years they have been with the company and so on. 2) The employees are super friendly! Even though you may get a few 'odd birds' walking around( goes with the hair industry) everyone is overly nice! 3) Notice all the pretty hair of the workers. Cool colors, styles and such. Maybe this will give you some ideas. 4) They'll offer you water bottle and dum-dum suckers. 5) Always clean. Cons: 1) If you find someone you like, don't hold your breathe. For many Visible Changes is may just be a stepping stone in their career. 2) Prices have gone up. In a lot of ways they are almost comparable to high end salons. Not that they aren't a great salon, just not exclusive where you have to rent a chair from the owner. 3)If you schedule during rush hours you are going to be fighting ungodly Galleria traffic. - So DON'T schedule during rush hours!!! read more
