I started coming here last summer and have always loved the service. Denis does an amazing job and consistently exceeds my expectations -- I highly recommend booking with him. Unfortunately, I'm extremely disappointed with the salon's professionalism and management. During one visit, I accidentally dropped my gold necklace on the floor. I realized it was missing when I got home and immediately texted Denis. He was kind enough to find it and turn it in to the receptionist. However, when I returned later that week to pick it up, it was nowhere to be found. I was told it had been placed in an envelope, yet the same receptionist who was there when it was turned in stayed silent when I asked who handled it. The manager and receptionist then stepped away to speak privately behind the desk and acted confused about the situation. I contacted the owner, who called me once and said she would review the footage, but I never received any follow-up. Sadly, I will not be returning, as I no longer feel I can trust the management. Be warned -- if you cancel your appointment less than 24 hours before it starts they will charge you half the price of whatever service you were going to have. Same thing if you need to reschedule. They offered no alternative. They keep your credit card on file too. So, don't have an emergency or anything unavoidable pop up before your appointment. It'll cost you. I went to Sofia for a balayage because Grace was not available. It is safe to say I did not receive a balayage. When talked to a manager they told me they would allow me to send pictures and they would review them and get back with me the next day. A week later and no one has gotten back with me. I mean it's obvious they can't fix the hair without redoing it, I got a highlight for sure. I am just really disappointed with the salon's service seeing as I didn't get what I paid for. I love his work however he is always booked and I am the type of person who likes to make appointments if anything week of. Yesterday I need to kill time before meeting up my friends and figured, let me just see if they have any cancellations or any stylists available. Chris has mentioned before the stylists get great training! I took the chance and they were able to squeeze me in with Denise!! She did not disappoint and I did not have cutters remorse! I had to sit in the same chair she sat in just to absorb whatever elitism was left from Her Majesty. M Salon is one of the first salons outside of my home in the 'burbs that I literally thanked God for finding. For the longest time, I frequented Tony & Guy, infamously known for giving *all* of their clients the same cut. Michael, salon owner, jokingly calls it the "mula" (a fancier way of saying "mullet.") They offer a free consultation where you simply discuss the look and cut and/or color you're going for. With a therapeutic shampoo and conditioning treatment, you're ready to go. Well, not before you sip on some complimentary vino. I'm not sure if all the stylist do this, but Michael is a fan of dry cuts for more precision. I don't know much about cutting techniques, but it works. Followed by a style and a trimming of my bangs, I walked out with a huge smile on my face. (The bangs! Oh, so many times have places cut them too short leaving me with a hipster look that I just can't pull off. Michael gets it right!) I think my last cut with Michael was around $70. After 2 years of going to MSalon, I must say this is the best Salon experience I've ever had. I'm constantly getting compliments on my hair, and all credit goes to Caitlyn. She's the best! In fact, the entire experience is the best from the beautiful atmosphere to the pleasant/welcoming staff. The service was great and they had friendly staff which is the only reason why I give it 2 stars... the job they did on me was terrible although at the time It looked sort of fine I then realized it wasn't, at all. They bleached my entire head and then covered it over with brown and there was no need for that because my natural hair is brown, as I've been told by my new hair stylist this was all unnecessary. It's a way of them having you continuously returning and at the end of the day you will never get what you ask for. BTW I had virgin hair, and she claimed I couldn't do it how I wanted when that was a false claim because nothing was ever done to my hair. She did it no where near what I wanted and eventually she just gave my new hair stylist a hard job to work with. read more

I then called trying to cancel but no one answered. I then called again and left a message notifying them of the cancellation and to verify it was received via my text. Today, an hour before the appointment, the front desk lady called me and told me I cannot cancel. I said why, I texted several days ago, tried to call, left a message, why? She said it's within 24 hours. I said no that I sent the text, left a message, made the calls, I did everything I could to notify you in a timely manner. In no way am I responsible for them getting back to me last minute. I refuse to pay this fee, will never come here again, and want to warn everyone. I even I tipped the stylist 80$ because I RESPECTED her TIME and I wasn't going to stiff her after she just spent 5 hours on coloring my hair. I figured the salon would have worked something out with me since I only trusted this place from an article saying it's good for "long locks". - So false advertising right? Not her fault. I tried getting ahold of the manager for a week and when I finally spoke to her she said I "harrassed" the front desk even tho I called 3 times in a week because she wouldn't reply to my emails. She refused to work a solution out with me and hung up on me. SO DISRESPECTFUL! I spent 400$ there and this is the worst I've ever had to deal with! Seriously. My hair was my identity!!! I'm SO SAD OVER THIS!!! AND THEY WERE SO RUDE!!! I'm SHOCKED a place has the ability to treat customers like this. Hair is such a big deal! I booked an appointment with Christoper Do for a haircut. To start with our interaction felt very rushed. I asked if he had enough time to cut my hair and he said yes. I asked for a trim and a long layered face frame. It was my first time in his chair. I tried to show him reference pictures of what I wanted and he told me he didn't need to see it. He said he knew what he was doing. I told him i had naturally curly hair. My hair was washed by someone else and then he and another person gave me a blow out before the haircut! He then parted my hair around the crown unevenly and made one chop giant chop and that was my haircut. He didn't even trim the bottom of my hair to make sure he got all the dead ends off. My head wasn't even straight while this was happening because the girl helping was still drying my hair. He also didn't part my hair down the middle for the face frame. There was a six inch gap between my longest layer and my shortest layer. I went back to get it "fixed"...i left looking even crazier. I asked him to cut my hair wet and he still cut it dry. My hair is completely uneven and he thinned out my ends and then vertically chopped into my hair and now my ends look jagged. I asked for a straight clean cut. d and I left with botched hair even after he attempted to fix it. It was a waste of my time and it took almost a month to get a refund. It's going to take even longer to grow my hair back out. read more

This is by far the most professional, upscale experience I have had to date with a Salon. The staff is very professional and the customer service is top tier. Caitlyn made sure my cut and style was exactly how I wanted, even though I usually go to a barber, and am very particular about my hair. Well, my mom's disappointed about her coloring service here today because of two reasons: 1. The stain left everywhere on her face, neck and ears. The stylist didn't try to clean it well as she should. 2. The color was way more dark black than a "dark brown/chocolate", which was initially communicated. The stylist didn't want to do any changes but kept repeating her excuses. In all, I think this place does not worth your money. We spent $140 for a simple dark brown color service, but got stains everywhere and a very black color instead... The only reason we came here was for its location, but don't think will return even for that reason. read more

I've had my hair done here twice and loved it both times-blonde balayage and a cut. Lainey is super nice and does a great job, and she understands the current hair trends for twenty-somethings. Unfortunately I've been trying to book an appointment and have had really terrible communications with them through their email booking. The person responding has not been polite, and has not even confirmed the date/time after 48 hours. I'm really disappointed because I have had such a great experience there, but I'm extremely frustrated and can't see myself going through this process booking an appointment again. read more

Confessions of a first time mom: Well this mom has learned you get what you pay for. I have visited tons of different salons over the years at all sorts of price points. From $15 haircuts to over $80. From the big chain names: Super Cuts, Visible Changes, Toni & Guy, to some locals like Amy Hieu. I have never been able to settle down with a salon, but I think I have finally found the one! M Salon is clean, pristine, and beautiful. When you arrive, you are promptly greeted and asked for your choice of complimentary beverage: coffee, champagne, wine, sparkling water, etc. In general, the salon is timely with their appointments which I can appreciate. Once you are escorted past the front, you are taken to a room, and asked to put on a clean robe to protect your clothes (much nicer than the typical smock). I have gone to M Salon 3 times thus far, and each time I must say I have been very happy with my haircut and style. I have been with two different hairstylists; so I'm not sure if I just got lucky or perhaps M Salon has great stylists throughout. This most recent trip I finally took the plunge, and got my hair colored. Nothing crazy, but in particular during pregnancy I noticed grays were sprouting faster than usual. I had no idea how much a haircut and semi-color dye job would cost, but in the end I spent just a little over $400 with tip included. Yikes! Hopefully in the future, I can minimize costs since I plan on just going in for touch ups. Either way, I was happy with the way it came out, and I plan on returning in the future. read more

I just moved to Houston about one month ago. I wanted to change up my look, being in a new city kind of means "let's change things" for me. I quite literally researched "Best hair salons in Houston" and the M Salon popped up. I went to my consultation a week before my hair appointment, I showed Christopher (highly recommend him) some pictures of his previous work from his personal Instagram that I liked. Yes, I did some research on him before meeting with him. Within five seconds, he had a plan for my hair. "Hints of pearl," he said. I was okay with whatever route he wanted to take, I trusted his opinion. Christopher said our appointment might last 6 hours - we got it down in about 3 hours. The before and after photos speak for themselves. I am soooooo excited about my hair everyday, I haven't been blonde in years. I got bayalage done, and it is relatively low maintenance, Chris says I should see him about once a year for touch ups. If you're interested in seeing his work, check out @Christoph_do on Instagram. You won't be disappointed when you get out of his chair. That's guaranteed. Well worth the money, and I was very well-catered to in the salon. It has been about two weeks since my appointment, and my hair looks as vibrant as the day I left. It feels soft and healthy, Chris did not use heat on my hair. He refuses to do so. I have zero complaints, and nothing but good things to say about the salon and its staff! We took a small photo shoot after my hair was styled and girl, I felt like a million bucks. Chris insisted on parting my hair down the middle for styling, which I NEVER do, and today my hair is again, parted down the middle. Not only did he color my hair, he introduced me to a new hair style, too. Still laughing about this because I refused to have it styled like that...but it worked! I was about to leave a good review for this salon on the first day after my hair cut. I have short hair and was asking for only a small trim, as I am planning to grow my hair long. I basically just want to keep the same hair style, I was just feeling my hair was growing out of shape as it gets longer. My hair stylist Chris was nice , he listened to my concerns. I seriously hope that I would like him... But it was quite a disappointment. So basically my hair was trimmed about 1-2 inches off , which was completely okay. Chris curled my hair after cutting. He did a pretty good job in curling, it did look like a natural breezy light curl. On the next day after shower , I figured my right sided hair looks so much longer than the left side , also the right front bottom part looks so much heavier than the other side. Chris cut my hair after the assistant blow dried it (dry cut)... I m not sure if that's the reason my hair wasn't cut even... Plus my hair looks very choppy and fuzzy at the hair ends :'( I didn't like it at all.... For pricing , it was 100 dollars just for haircut . I don't mind at all paying 100 bucks if my hair looks good . I would pay whatever to have a good hairstylist. I am still debating if I should go back to have them fix it ... But this is really disappointing .... My hair supposed to be an easy cut ... I just don't understand why it would end up like this ... read more
