My experience at this salon was wonderful. My hair stylist, Mike, did full highlights for me. I chose colors pastel pink and green, and the results came out beautifully! I've thought about doing this for a really long time but I was always hesistant because of how long it would take etc.. but he was able to do it in an hour and a half so that was magical The reasons why I can see myself coming back to this salon is not only the results I got but also the way they treat their customers. I normally feel kinda awkward walking into a hair salon because lowkey staffs make you feel some type of way.. However Mike made me feel comfortable (even tho i didn't talk much throughout the session). I really like the cozy vibe in here with cute decorations, they have their own taste if that makes sense. I encountered three staffs including him and everyone was so chill and free-spirited. Mike was professional yet easy to talk to. I think their prices are pretty reasonable. The only thing is parking. Today was my first time to Marbella. I've struggled to find a stylist who will bleach/lighten my hair beyond a very gold/warm color (yuck). As a gal with short hair, I've found that hair dressers fancy cutting it even shorter, without giving it any texture or style. What this persons incompetence did to my hair is criminal First of all, he had NO IDEA how to do a stacked, inverted sharp angled lob and NEVER SAID Anything!!! I made sure to book the head stylist way in advance and at the time of my appointment gave clear instructions with 4/5 pictures of what I wanted. The stylist proceeded to ignore my request saying he knows what will look good on me and chopped off nearly 4/5 inches off my hair. I was VERY CLEAR that I don't want the length taken off . We talked about what I wanted and he gave a very thorough consultation. I have A LOT of Hair, so Dee was working with me until 10 PM!! This review is a little overdue, but I've had nothing but good experiences at Marbella. I went here in college, and the stylists were all friendly and accommodating. They know hair, from cutting to coloring. I had my hair colored dark brown here from blonde for the first time, and it turned out great. This was back in 2007, but I remember it cost less than $50. I really wish I could find a similar salon in Austin - the haircuts I had at Marbella all had great "swing" and grew out really nicely. read more
