When I called to make the appointment, they were quick to answer and it was very easy to schedule. I went for a basic women's haircut which was $75. Lilian was friendly and clearly cared about doing a great job, listening to how I was wanting the hair to be cut. Going from longer hair to a shoulder length cut along with a shampoo and dry all took just under an hour. I am definitely interested in coming back! They're located on the second floor of a plaza with lots of parking, although it can be busy.

I am super happy and grateful to have known Marina's work. She's amazing. Last year for Christmas I went to a salon to get the Ombre made, and they did a horrible job in my hair. They left it super stained and orange. I desperately went to another salon to get my hair fixed and they told me that because of the seriousness of the damage I had, the best thing was that totally darkened my hair. I specifically asked them to put a color that did not have black or red tones so I would not have future problems when I wanted to light up my hair again. Unfortunately in fact they put a red-based color on me, and since then I've tried with several stylists to see who managed to fix my hair and get to the color I wanted. I went around 5 stylist and always left super sad until I was fortunate to find Marina, on my first visit she completely fix my hair, as if I had never had the problem of spotting and reds. Marina's work actually exceeded my expectations, I'm super happy with what she did with my hair, I feel it is even more beautiful than before I suffered the incident. With all that said, certainty I highly recommend Marina, in my opinion she is the best stylist in the whole world. I had heard that the Colombian stylists were the best, and I proved it with Marina. Janiece has been my hair stylist since 2001 and I've now followed her here to Salon Vive on Memorial. My hair color is naturally very dark with a lot of warmth and I've had a hard time finding a stylist who is able lighten the color up to blond/light ash brown without making it brassy or orange, but Janiece does a fantastic job with all my coloring needs from changing my base color to adding highlights and/or lowlights. She knows exactly what I like and is always evaluating new products and techniques to help me achieve the color I want without jeopardizing the health of my hair, which I greatly appreciate. Janiece also does Great Lengths extensions (which are natural hair extensions of the highest quality) and has done mine many times since 2001, which has enabled me to change my look from short hair to long hair, from bangs to no bangs, and from layers to no-layers, over the years. I continue to follow Janiece wherever she goes because I know that I can trust her to take care of my hair and get everything done right. I've also really enjoyed the friendly, casual atmosphere of Salon Vive -- the location is super convenient with ample parking and the people are friendly and down-to-earth. read more

Kat is phenomenal!! Not only did she really take her time with me, finding out exactly what I wanted and showing me how to take care of my curls, but she gave me a gorgeous cut! It's obvious she really knows what she's doing--especially with curly hair. Going in, my hair didn't feel healthy, but I wasn't sure what it needed. She advised me as to the best treatment to revitalize my hair (I ended up getting the Ouidad treatment), but I never felt pressured to get a certain service or product. I felt like I was getting the royal treatment, even though I was just getting a cut and conditioning--nothing fancy. She's so welcoming and friendly, I felt completely at ease the whole time. The whole salon was great. It's very clean and chic and they offer you drinks as soon as you arrive. And unlike some salons, they didn't overcharge me--I even got 20% off for being a first-time customer (and I didn't even have to ask them about the discount--they just gave it to me)! Nettie has been cutting and styling my hair for almost two years now. In this time, I have followed her and been a loyal customer for two reason: 1. She listens and puts you first. I am a low maintenance gal and always get the same cut. She does a great job of just cleaning up my layers and then fabulously styles my hair. Nothing crazy or wild, but I always feel great coming home when my husband looks at me with those "Wow, look at you!" eyes. 2. She's sweet and talented. A sometimes hard to find combo in the salon world. She truly cares about her profession and her clients. She keeps up with training and the latest trends, but most importantly, she is respectful of your precious time! Everyone knows, when you finally find someone who can cut your hair just the way you like AND you enjoy your time while getting it done...you stick to that person like glue! Salon Vive is one of my top picks ever. My first time going and they were so nice and very welcoming. They treated me with respect and made sure I understood everything down to the "T". Stephanie was my stylist and she was so funny and actually listened to what I had to say. She is so passionate about her job, she absolutely loves what she does. They make you feel very much at home. They have wonderful products and services. It's a very beautiful salon and they know exactly what they are doing. I recommend trying this place out at least one time, I know it's a place you will keep coming back to. First timers get a 20% off and they have very good promotions. They were extremely nice even though I was a bit late due to traffic. Stephanie, my rockstar stylist listened to my hair concerns and placed emphasis on improving condition of my hair instead of upselling. She made hair color recommendations to have my hair color looking consistent and always asked for my opinion to keep me involved in the process - great, attentive stylist. This is the place to go for anyone with curly hair. Viviana is amazing and definitely knows what she's doing. I got the Ouidad cut and love it! From the time I walked in to the time I walked out, I felt super welcome and comfortable. Viviana greeted me with the warmest smile and before we even got started she sat down for a consultation. She explained what a Ouidad cut is, asked me what I wanted and was expecting. Throughout the time of my haircut, she answered questions and explained what she was doing. This is, hands down, the best salon experience I have ever had. I came in rather unhappy with my current haircut & color that I had gotten done at a salon in California, and I left the happiest that I have ever been with my hair. Janiece was my stylist, and she created a perfect custom blend of color for my skin tone (an auburn milk-chocolate brunette), walking me through the entire process. She also advised the best methods for growing out my hair, which I've somewhat unsuccessfully been attempting to do. What a great experience at Salon Vive! Yesterday was my first time there. My hair was in desperate need of attention. Paul and Bobby know what they are doing. Paul completely got what I wanted and he did a great job with my cut and color! Bobby applied a conditioning treatment to my hair that made my hair so shiny and soft. I'm so pleased with my hair that I feel like a new person! I've never been so pleased with a salon before. I also loved the ambiance of salon vive! Very nicely decorated and clean. Marina is absolutely amazing!!!! I highly recommend her for anything and everything! I have been going to her for a year and she is the best hairdresser I've been to (and I've been getting my hair done for many years). She has been doing my Great Lengths Hair extensions and full highlights. She is the absolute best! My extensions are from real hair and I love them. They are so natural looking, people don't even know I have extensions. I had really fine blonde hair and now I actually have gorgeous locks. Based on other reviews posted on Yelp for Salon Vive I decided to visit as a walk-in; so glad I did. I needed a haircut and an color to cover my . gray. I have a regular hair-stylist that I use but because of an illness she wasn't able to get me in. Gordon processed my hair-color just one color nothing fancy and cut my very thick hair. He did a wonderful job. He asked questions about length, layers and why I would want a perm later on. My wavy hair is much more manageable when I have a perm. Kat Flores is great. Kat has been doing my hair for 2 years now and I just love my curls now. I am in awe of the ouidad hair cut she gives me to tame my curly frizzy crazy hair into beautiful bouncy soft curls. The best part about the ouidad hair cut is how well the hair grows out after the cut. The curls remain perfect and in shape even after 4-5 months after the cut. I am the kind of person who does not like to spend too much time on my hair in the mornings. With this cut, I fix my hair in a jiffy and am out in no time. A friend recommended Salon Vive I'm so glad I decided to give them a try. I have frizzy unruly hair which is hard to manage. Jacquie did my color and that balayage technique is amazing!!!! Never going back to foils ever again...my color is so vibrant, and highlights are so natural looking!! Nettie did my haircut and rocked it!! Just WOW!!! I have extremely curly hair and it has always been difficult to find someone that can handle such a task successfully...that is until today when I met Viviana. Geez, what talent!!! I never felt rushed at all and truly appreciated Viviana's ideas and suggestions to help me obtain the look I wanted. After calling multiple locations they were able to fit me in last minute. Thank god! I needed a color correction from a job that I had gotten done the day before. She did an amazing job on my curly/wavy hair and dyed it to the exact shade I was looking for unlike a lot of other salons I've been to. She sits me down at the wash station and washes my hair and then lays a warm towel on me while she's washing my hair. After the shampoo and conditioner, we go back to trim/cut my hair and style it. Service: My service fee for a hair cut is $85 and Kerasilk treatment for $45. Hair cut: Cindy does a fantastic job. She creates the best layers that fits my face and adds volume to my hair. Nothing negative to say about her. She's wonderful. Treatment: have pretty long, thin and fine hair so I try to get the Kerasilk treatment every time I come in. The treatment conditioning and moisturizes my hair because I usually come in with dry and tangly hair and the treatment helps with it. I totaled my car in a snowstorm outside Boston at the start of March, an accident, not a choice, not something I scheduled around a hair appointment for fun. While I was busy figuring out how to get to a meeting in Minneapolis and my car 3,000 miles home, a hair appointment didn't fit into that equation on any level. I didn't get my usual reminder text before the appointment, like I always do so that at least I would've had a reminder to let them know what happened to me. I did get a voicemail DAY OF, half of which transcribed before cutting off, a name I didn't recognize, sounding exactly like the other 100 spam calls I get daily. I ignored it. Forgive me for not intuiting that it was salon-related while dealing with a totaled car in another state. When I finally went back in, I apologized, showed them photos of my car wrecked in snow, taken just days before the missed appointmen and still got handed a $98 cancellation FEE for an accident I didn't cause and couldn't have predicted. A lifetime of getting my hair done, never once missing an appointment without calling until that day, this was a first. Fine. I paid it anyway. I just wanted my hair done.Then my stylist informed me my red needed " to be evened out." My hair was the same red it had always been, I have the photos. She did my hair less than a couple of months before this, the color I came in with that I liked. The ONLY instruction I gave was no brown. I left brown. Full brown, gray showing through, at closing time, with Casey telling me she would fix it.The blowout was its own insult. I started paying $15 extra for flat-iron because I travel and needed it to last, not because the blowout itself was ever the problem. I have years of photos proving she could do a smooth blowout with zero flat iron involved. This time, paying extra for the upgrade, I got a blowout that didn't survive three hours, it was a frizz bomb. From the time I started using the flat iron to make my blowout last for work is the time she forgot how to do blowouts. Checkout was $358, about $150 over my normal total, because the $98 fee got folded silently into the bill, and I tipped on the entire thing without realizing it. Let me be very clear: I will tip generously on service. I will not, ever, knowingly tip on a FEE charged to me because of a car accident that wasn't my fault. There was no service in that FEE. There was no styling, no skill, no time in the chair, just a charge for missing an appointment I forgot about while dealing with a totaled vehicle 3,000 miles from home. When I called to ask for that specific gratuity be refunded, not the fee, just the tip stacked on top of it, I was told the stylist "gets the fee and the tip," like I was trying to take money out of her pocket. I wasn't. I was correcting an honest mistake on a bill I wasn't paying close attention to after a stressful, exhausting day. Their response was to call back and inform me they no longer wanted me as a customer. When I texted asking if my color could at least be corrected, I was met with silence. My hair is brown at this very minute trying to figure out how to come up with $200 more to fix the problem they created.And then my sister went in. I didn't warn her off, she'd had a hard time finding a stylist and didn't want to lose her appointment, and that's her call to make. Casey, the stylist, told her that her hair was greasy, hair that is dry, porous, and curly, and has never been oily a minute in its life. Along the way, the stylist told her she needed to brush her hair, as if she just rolled out of bed and came into the salon. It didn't need to be brushed, her hair is DRY, PORUS and CURLY, not unbrushed. Proceeding to her own color, my sister tried to explain what she actually wanted, light brown hair but while reiterating that to make sure it was done, Casey sneered, 'Is this going to be a Nickolle thing?' Keep my name out of your mouth. You don't get to talk about me like that while taking $400 from my sister. ANYWAY. The result: my sister wanted lighter. She left darker, with at least three colors woven in including the purple she specifically paid to have removed, and gray still very much present and accounted for. $400, and somehow the hair went the opposite direction of every single thing she asked for. They offered to let her come back in and put a small amount of highlights. As if, she's not letting anybody from that salon touch her hair ever again. Free or not. No thanks.Two appointments, two completely botched results, and a staff that responds to legitimate complaints by firing the customer instead of fixing the work. Disgusting.
