As embarrassing as it is to post this, I've got to give this guy some props. I went to a top rated salon and they gave me a terrible hack job two weeks before an important event. My beautiful hair was mangled, I was completely traumatized! The cut was so bad I couldn't even style it . Frantically I called around trying to find somewhere I could get me in with a master stylist. Thank GOD I found Patrice! He is a life saver and hair genius! As a former hairstylist that's worked with some of the best industry all over the country, I have to say Patrice has the best cutting techniques I've ever seen! He really took the time to listen to my concerns and miraculously was able to put shape and life back into my hair. Also, BEST shampoo & head massage ever. I'm so happy I finally found a good stylist in Houston. He's new to Houston and has a cool French accent. I am a nurse and had to stay late to cover for a colleague at the last minute, so I could not make my appointment. Because I broke their 24 hour notification policy, that I did not know about, I was told I would be penalized 50% of the charge for the service I would've received today. I would owe $180+ for no service at all. I was trying this place out and thought maybe there would be some really amazing hairstyles or creativity at this higher cost they were charging. Andrew did a lovely job on my haircut. My last haircut was three months ago but it has now grown way pass my back. I still wanted to keep the long length but needed a trim on my layers. It was just getting too thick and tangle. I called the morning of and got an appointment in the afternoon. This location is located in the HEB shopping plaza. The salon is on the left side of HEB. Very spacious inside with modern decor. Andrew listened to what I wanted and cut off three inch of my hair. He took his time making sure every snip was perfect. My hair felt much lighter and silkier afterward. The results I got was better than I expected. Visited Upper Hand yesterday to have a roots color and cut. America was my colorist and I must say she did the best job on my color that I've ever had! She listened to what I wasn't happy with about my current color and understood what I was wanting. America then made great suggestions regarding the different methods that we could achieve my desired color. Amazing job! I will not use anyone else in Houston for color. Then Saada cut my hair and she too did an amazing job! Saada is a very professional hair designer and she cut my hair in the long layers that I was looking for. Saada now has a client forever too! Regina is AMAZING! If you want someone who is experienced (she trained in LA) and actually cares about your hair, then she is your girl! I've bounced around to several different salons and stylists, but finally found one I trust! I have gotten a few haircuts, blowouts, and conditioning treatments from her. She always takes her time to make sure your hair looks healthy and gorgeous. She is also great at giving advice on how to style and maintain your hair. On several occasions, she has been so flexible with her schedule. She came in on days she wasn't even scheduled to be in the salon to help me with my hair for special occasions (most recently my e-session!). Honestly, you won't find many stylists that care like that. Also, she's very easy to talk to and likes to keep you pampered during your visit (scalp massages, providing wine or tea, extra treatments, etc.). Also, this salon is so cute. I know that doesn't matter that much but it's a nice touch when you're getting pampered! Obviously, I'm a fan and will keep going to her. You won't go wrong going with Regina! :) read more

I came in needing a color correction due to a color job that was done ALL WRONG...like I paid for blonde highlights and ended up with dyed orange hair....so unbelievably ugly, I couldn't stand to look at my hair. This review is for the stylist Jennifer: Jennifer is the absolute BEST with color. She really has a talent and eye for it. She knows exactly what looks good on my skin tone for that season. She keeps herself educated and up to date with the latest trends and techniques. She will also be honest with you, if you ask for a certain hair cut or color, she'll do it but give her advise on how it will probably not match your skin tone or face shape and recommend something very close to what you want and the end result will be better than what you asked for. I have followed her from another salon and the drive from the heights is absolutely worth it. As for the salon-- absolutely no complaints. Well, these people just lost my business! I have been coming here, a couple of times to get my haircut, but most of all, to get my kerastase hair products, which by the way, are not cheap. Well, I ran out of everything this week and needed my hair mask, shampoo, curl cream and heat protector. I got there at 6:14. I know for a fact that they close at 7:00 and the doors were open. I went in and a woman tells me that it is closed, I said: really? And in my head I am thinking: did they change the schedule for Friday? I go out and double check the schedule posted on the door and it says 7. I went in again and told the lady that the door says 7, she replied that they have been closing after their last appointment. (Which does not make sense again if you are a business that not only Provides a service but offer products) I explained again, just in case she had not heard, that I just needed to get some products, and she replied that they had closed their register machine. So my question is, if you are closed, why are your doors open? When your business doors are open, and your sign outside says you are open you should honor that. Anyway, their loss not mine. She makes me feel comfortable and will never push anything on you. THE nicest, sweetest, attentive & most down to earth hair dresser I've ever had. And I've had a lot! She keeps it real with you and will never give you expectations she cannot fulfill. She won't work on a million people and waste your time, but will focus only on you.
