(i walked around the lot at giant chev for 10 minutes before a salesmen greeted me) he was professional and had enough product knowledge. he could explain most of the features of the truck and seemed to know the different packages and what they included. i did not buy the truck the first day, as a matter of fact i had almost decided not to buy one over the next couple days. Andrew scheduled a follow up with me and he actually called. i came back in to discuss details and complain about the price. Terrible experience with the service dept. Appt time 9:15am, went to check on status at 3:45pm and they were still working on it! I asked what took so long, I was told that they were very busy and that they work on them in the order received. They stop taking oil changes at 3pm...long story short, nothing Carlos said was making sense, the math wasn't mathing. Never taking another vehicle to this place. I didn't have my truck for a full day and I ended up scratching the side because someone left one of those electric carts next to it and it I didn't see it when I pulled out. I contacted Jesse my sales rep and he talked with the people at the service desk to see what can be done. He told me Alex said to bring it in and they'll take care of it. My 69 year old mother came to my house to show me her car that she had purchased at Groppetti in Visalia. Today she went in to get her car insurance here in Porterville. Then her SUV wouldn't turn on. We contacted Groppetti to inform them abput this issue that the vehicle just clicks and clicks. They stated that must be the battery and they won't cover it. My mom explained to them that she just purchased the car days ago and they must have sold them a bad battery with the car. They explained the battery needs to be switched every few years. We again tried to explain that the car was just purchased days ago. They again denied any coverage of a battery and offered to have the vehicle towed 45 minutes away and they will replace the battery at my mother's expense. With all that being said, I can just imagine the service we will be provided if a bigger issue arises. Goodluck everyone. read more

Came into the dealership to purchase a vehicle. They refused to sale me a vehicle with a 700 plus credit score. They lied and told me they tried 10 banks. However, I pay 30.00 a month for all three of the bureaus to be monitored. After checking my credit monitoring when I got home I seen my credit was ran one time by the dealership. They didn't send the loan to not one lender. The old white man in the office refused to sale me a car with a 700 plus score. This review is for the Visalia Buick GMC service department. My husband has a 2022 GMC Sierra 3500 that had issues after driving about 1,000 miles. We called Visalia GMC and their service manager was horrible. His appointment was for 12pm and when he got there, he was told they were at lunch and would return after 1:30. Not sure why you schedule an appointment for 12 if you aren't going to be there. He finally spoke to the manager and he all did was make excuses, saying no idea when he could have his truck checked out because there are super busy so he'd have to leave it for a couple of day until they could get to it. He asked about a rental they told him it was not an option. He left and called Giant GMC and not only did they get him in right away, they gave him a rental car while they figure out what the issue is. Customer service was great, just having someone that actually listens and doesn't speak over you was great. I will never purchase or take my vehicles to any Groppetti dealership. I actually laugh at his commercials where he says to email him. I've tried it, and never got a response. read more

We brought an Acadia and told them it had a misfire problem. We told them we had it hooked up to a code reader. We waited 5 hours and got no call. When we called they said that it could be anything, that an oil change from Wal-Mart could cause that. In my entire life have I heard or had my car do that with an oil change from Wal-Mart. The following day we opted to have the spark plugs changed and what do you know, problem fixed. My last question is, how do you justify a $571.74 bill for a spark plug change that we diagnosed when we dropped it off. If there was a zero stars, I would have given it to them. If I was only reviewing the vehicle or the salesman, Andrew Farias, this would be a 5 star review. Unfortunately, Mark Washburn, the finance manager (I think that is his title), ruined the transaction for us. Andrew was great, knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. The vehicle is also great. Unfortunately, Mark was not very friendly, somewhat off-putting (but professional) and ultimately dishonest about the deal he wrote up for us. Mark "threw in" an optional feature that we weren't interested in, but we accepted it since we thought we were getting it for free. As it turned out, he actually charged us $600 for that feature but discounted the extended warranty that we purchased by that amount to make the final numbers look the same. That means he could have discounted the extended warranty by at least $600 in the first place. After finding an identical extended warranty for much less (by accident while completing another transaction from different dealer), I went back to cancel the original one I bought from Mark, only to find out my refund was going to be $600 less than I thought it was going to be due to the way Mark "threw in" the other unwanted (and unreturnable) option. When I went back to officially cancel the original warranty to get my refund, I explained to him how I felt about the transaction and that I feel like I got charged $600 for an option that I never wanted. He simply said there was nothing that he could do about it and that he never misrepresented the deal (which is a complete lie). I asked him to maybe throw in something else to make up the difference and make me feel better about it and he refused. I suggested throwing in the 2 year maintenance program (which he was originally going to charge me $750 for and that they are currently offering for free to anyone purchasing a new vehicle, which we did) just to keep us from walking away feeling unhappy and taken advantage of, and he even refused to do that. So, he wouldn't even offer me something that they are currently giving away for free?!?! I asked to speak to a manager, so he brought in a sales manager which was no help. So now, not only do we feel like we're out an extra $600, but now we also question how much more we overpaid on the rest of the transaction. Since he clearly lied about giving us the best deal on the extended warranty and charging us for something we didn't even want, we now also wonder how much we overpaid for the vehicle itself. We asked several times during the negotiations about getting the vehicle price down further and Mark was somewhat rude in some of his responses and wouldn't give any further reduction beyond the rebates/promotions offered at the time. Long story short, the vehicle and salesman (Andrew Farias) are great and I would recommend to anyone. But, I would warn anyone purchasing a vehicle here to be very careful when dealing with Mark Washburn. He most likely will not be offering you the best deal he can on the vehicle (which I understand is part of his job to maximize their/his profit), but he will also try to take advantage of you on other options and is not afraid to lie or at least misrepresent certain things while doing so. He also won't be of any help trying to make things right if you discover something he misled you or flat out lied to you about, or are unsatisfied with the deal. Bottom line, don't fully trust Mark and read everything he has you sign very carefully. Your best interests are none of his concern, and once you sign, the deal is done! This could have been as pleasant of a transaction as a vehicle purchase can be, but Mark Washburn prevented all that, which is a shame. read more

They are a lot more helpful and everyone is on it. Usually before when you pick up your car they just give you the keys and you get your car. This new team they pull out your car to the front. Let me say , Why did I ever trade my prized 2011 370Z for a 2015 canyon 4 wheel drive !! It was a great truck till I started having problems with the steering wheel lock while driving I took it over to this Visalia Buick GMC where I bought the truck to check why it was doing this they say they did a full diagnostic and said it was going to be $500.00 I said go ahead and fix it after a couple of days my steering wheel locked again while driving I took it back to tell them the problem is not fixed it locked again they said they will rewire the steering column which they did I took it on a drive and the wheel locked again .. My question is if you performed the thorough diagnostic what did you fix that you charged me $500 ? It did not fix the issue why would you replace something that does not fix the issue was this just a guessing game? Now it's back at the dealership with Corporate involved to identify the issue they need to replace the whole steering column which is 1900 dollars but payment assistance will come from corporate they'll help pay for this problem !! Now it's going on a month and the service department is a joke you can leave messages and they don't call back they don't know what communication is !! I called corporate and told them they don't answer !! I will never ever get service at this dealership again it's a a wicked nightmare just to get information or keep you updated on a vehicle you invested a lot of money on !! Like seriously !! I dropped my car off at the appointment (9am) and was told I would hear something with a couple of hours. It was after 2pm when I was told they would have to order a part. Then I was told (only because I asked), they were still checking on the other issue I brought the car in for. I had to call again the next day to check on progress and was told they would call back within 45 mins with update...still took a couple hours to return call. When I went to pick up my car, I was sent to cashier for payment, when we had already established it was covered under the warranty. I overhead a customer on speaker phone while waiting for corrected paperwork, telling service clerk that they had received the worst customer service. I don't think that there was much sense of urgency for a customer without their vehicle for 2 days. =( read more

I dropped my truck off on Friday for an oil pressure issue, was told I need a diagnostic and that it would cost X amount of dollars. Well they called me back at 430 pm saying that it needed to stay so they could run the diagnostic from a cold start and was then told that I needed this and that done, I asked does that pertain to the oil issue and they said no but they needed to start somewhere and it would be another X amount of dollars so I agreed. Well long story short I got charged for 2 diagnostics after being told no codes showed up and to top it off the other work that I said for them to do didnt get done. Man I left there feeling like I got taken advantage of and lighter in my wallet! I've bought 3 cars from groppeti in the past but now my business will go elsewhere. The Air conditioning in my car died last week ; the temp was 101 . I baby set my one year old grandson and he was with me when the air started faltering , and we rushed home. I called another GM company & left two voice mails; they never responded. I called Visalia Buick and they had me bring my car in the next morning. They figured out the problem almost immediately & had to order a part so they took care of everything with Enterprise, to get my rental car ready. They treat their customers like they're invisible and the employees in the service department seem like they don't wanna be there. I went in there this morning to service my brand new $60000 GMC Sierra and the representative at the counter looked at me like, what are you doing here. He sat there for 5 minutes stared at me did not say good morning did not greet me looked at me walked into the back ignored me then he came back and he wondered why I was upset. This wasn't the first time that's why I finally said something. He turned his back on me never greeted me had a face like my butt. Then the manager came out to defend him instead of finding out why I the paying customer was upset. Then the manager started to scokd me , argue and he tried to provoke me, so unprofessional. I had been having trouble with the tire pressure in my tires and wasn't sure what was wrong. Also I had been to a few auto parts stores looking for a back windshield wiper blade. No one knew which one actually went on my car. Finally I decided to just go straight to the dealership. I went in, got a new windshield wiper blade within minutes and then asked if they could check out my tire pressure/sensor. They were super helpful, filled up all of my tires, my warning light went off and they even installed the wiper for me.
