We scheduled an appointment for our family's vehicle because we were heading out on a trip. We advised them of the issues we wanted them to look at prior to the appointment through the process they require. Upon arrival, our service advisor didn't take the time to review those notes, and asked us why we came in. We told him, and he told us that we would have to come back next week because they couldn't perform the diagnostic check for us until then. This would have been nice to know prior to us driving an hour to have the vehicle looked at. When we called a few days later to make another appointment, the call taker told us they didn't have anything available for over TWO WEEKS. Given that our family needed to be safely on the road in a matter of days, we opted to take our vehicle elsewhere. I am not sure why the dealership makes you take the time to enter notes about the issues you are having with your vehicle if they aren't going to bother checking them, or making sure your trip to the dealership is productive. Additionally, having to wait the better part of a month to have your vehicle checked by them is absurdly long. Overall, the experience felt impersonal, like a waste of time, and void of care for their customers. I wish there were more places in the Central Valley to bring our vehicle, because this place is not it. read more

Sir I bought a honda accord last year from Arjun Sir this guy sells me the car and whatever he told me about the car, everything was a big lie. First issue - He told me the car accessories are all free like floor mats, car boot space tray. So later on i find out the amount was added in my loan amount. Second issue- He told me the HONDA CARE is free of cost and later on i found out the same thing. The amount has been added to my loan amount. Once i find out that anything wasn't free, i requested him to cancel the honda care and then he told me in honda care i will get free oil change for upto 80,000 miles and now i find out that was also a big lie. Yea so I got my filters checked and they weren't even at half their lifetime capacity--but I decided to replace them at the local oil changers near me (on Dinuba Blvd.) and it was $70 instead of $350 lol. Don't go to this Honda dealership for anything if you don't wanna get scammed for your money. I also talked with the manager and he failed to take any action towards his rude employee and diverted it by only addressing that he believed my filters needed to be changed --yea no buddy I'm not going back for yall to charge me 5x the price of what it actually takes to change something as small as filters. read more

I took my Honda in June for my car stalling. When I got to Honda of course the check engine light was off. Can't do anything without any lights on to figure out what's wrong. (Because using your brain and problem solving is a thing of the past) Per Hondas recommendation I keep driving the car until it breaks down or the light comes on again. Excellent... said nobody ever. July my car finally breaks down. I explained my issue in detail in June & again in July when I take it in. Y'all... 2018 Turbo Engines have a KNOWN motor issue and there is a lawsuit against Honda for this issue. It costs THOUSANDS to repair. $5100.00 The issues start at about 84,000 miles. My car has 84,200 miles on it. We know about this lawsuit because a Honda employee told us & we also have been in contact with the representing law firm. I wanted to give a HUGE shout out to Arin Partida who helped to diffuse a situation I had with one of their service people. Wish I would've gotten the guy's name. Long story, I went into VH for an appt regarding a battery sensor recall on my 13 Honda Accord Sport. I was expecting to get my work order, sign and be on my way, but instead the guy that helped me had 21 Q's about why and how I was even given an appt, he asked why I was there even said he had to "find out" if my recall was able to be taken care of today. I was so confused as I had made my appt a week prior and thought that would've been figured out at the time I made my appt. I told him I had somewhere to be and wasn't understanding why he was having to waste time doing research on his computer about my appt and why he had to "see" if he could help me out or not. He said he had to look up my specific recall because "not all recalls are done automatically". I asked him to explain what he meant and all he did was repeat the same phrase with a SA tone. I asked him why he was being so rude to me and why he couldn't try and understand my point of view as I had made my appt a week ago and didn't understand his reason to "look into" my recall in their system at the time of my appt. Arin was quick to come out of her office and tell the guy who was helping me to stop, and asked how she could help me. Arin had a genuine concerned look on her face, which immediately diffused my anger, and then asked what was wrong and how she could help. As I was explaining to her what I was upset about she asked the guy to look up in the system if they had the part I needed in stock. This guy was even rude to Arin waving his hand to her as if telling her he already knew what to do. He asked me how long I was planning to wait, again I was annoyed and I said, "I'm really not trying to be rude but how do you not know how long I will need to be for this recall?" He got up and walked away and said, "that's not what I asked you". I told Arin how shocked I was with his attitude and how rude and condescending he was being. She immediately apologized and said she would handle it after helping me get set up for my recall. Arin topped off her awesome service to me by getting my car a deluxe wash (not a basic one) free of charge for the trouble I had to deal with! I was so happy with her and left feeling very taken care of . Customer service isn't easy I've worked in retail before and dealt with a lot of angry customers. An upset customer should never be taken personally, always put yourself in their shoes, maybe they are having a bad day or they got into an argument with someone before showing up to your place of business... having compassion for why they are so upset makes a huge difference. Getting angry with a customer NEVER helps the situation, it only makes it worse. This guy didn't even bother to apologize for the misunderstanding. He even said to me, "I don't know why the other person who helped you didn't have this taken care of before" my appt. He could've said , "I'm sorry the person who helped you didn't have this already taken care of but this will only take a minute and I will help you get your vehicle back to you as soon as possible". All I can say is purchase a car somewhere else their used Honda Certified vehicles are trash. They certify just by a point inspection that probably means they checked the air tire pressure. There service department and service department Manager Erin is useless. Get your car diagnosed throughly somewhere else. Charging me 194$ for each area I need checked is ridiculous. And if you do go there make sure you take a witness or record what you say you need checked because they will not put everything down to be looked at even though you brought it to their attention. So here I am $194 later for 1 1/2 of time I payed but they only took 1hr for the vehicle but did they not only charge me the hr no they charged me the whole hr. I was from out of town and went to this dealer when my check engine light went on. I was in town for a funeral and obviously didn't have an appt. I dropped it off Monday morning, and they finally got back to me Tuesday afternoon and told me the repair is going to cost anywhere from $2000-$12000. The next morning, the service guy calls me and says I need to replace the engine, that it will cost $12000, and he'll need it for 2 to 4 weeks. I asked if I can do a partial repair and they said no. I proceeded to have it towed home, and 3 other service guys told me it's a 500-1500 fix, depending if I wanted to fix everything or just the critical stuff. Can't believe that a business that services people would take advantage of people. DO NOT GO HERE!! read more

Today I was greeted by a gentleman by the name Of Ernesto to get my tire fixed I believe it had a nail. He did tell me that his tech was leaving soon and that I had to come back the next day! I did express that I was only off of work this day and needed to be serviced as soon as possible. He was finally abel to get it done. During the check in he was nice and professional till the moment I mentioned it was covered under my sequoia coverage, his demeanor went from nice to bad and you could see he was very upset after him mentioning that it was late on the east coast and he would not Be able to confirm coverage. I saw he was visibly upset to I told him if my repairs were going to be such a hassle for him I could return a different day. I spoke to the service manager and expressed my concern with Ernestos customer service. FYI... service sucks here it's always negative. I've been trying to get my Honda Pilot looked at for an issue since Oct 2023. I had taken it to the dealership I bought it from for extended warranty work. When that work was completed they told me that i needed to reach out to Honda for an issue with the catalytic converter since it would be under manufacturers warranty. My dealership gave me the name of the technician, AT Visalia Honda, they had been in contact with about the issue. When I called about that issue and asked to talk to the contacted technician (right after I talked to my dealership) Visalia Honda told me that they didnt know who that technician was and that they can't connect me to anyone specific about the issue. We had just gotten the car back and then they issued a recall for the fuel pump for our car, so we left it alone until we could get that recall taken care of. They didn't have the parts to take care of the recall u til a month ago. It did better for 3 days before it started sputtering again. I reached our to a mechanic who did a diagnostic and let me know that the catalytic converter is still an issue. It is still under warranty. In the last week, I have tried to call about bringing it in, the first time the service advisors were "out to lunch" and would return my call as they returned. They didn't call. The next time I called and asked to bring it in I was told there is no room to bring it in for diagnostics and they would have to schedule it a different day and they hung up instead. They are rude and I will NEVER do any business here again. I will be taking my business and my cars to Bakersfield Honda instead. read more

If you have a type r, make sure you take pictures of your brembo calipers before taking in your cars to have the brakes serviced. I took my 2018 civic type r fk8 in recently to have the brakes and rotors changed, and they left obvious tool makings on my brembo calipers and chipped the paint near the retention pins that hold the pads in. I then told Honda's service manager about it. Long story short, they said my calipers were worn, and they didn't do any damage during the installation of my brake pads and rotors. I understand my car is almost 6 years old, and my calipers are worn, but they didn't have tool makings and paint chipping near the brake pad retention pins when i brought my car in. I've been going to Honda service department for almost 6 years since I bought my fk8 back in 2018 and always check when the work is done and this is the first time I notice tooling on my calipers. But ...hey....they didn't do it. Take lots of close-up pics before dropping it off!!! And inspect with a fine tooth comb when picking it up!!! read more

I took my vehicle to be assessed for what likely would and should be covered under warranty. A door molding fell off. It would require 10 second assessment. The employees and manager told me it would be $200 to diagnose. If it was found to not be covered under warranty, I would be out the $200. I found their customer service to be dismissive, accusatory, deflecting, inconsiderate and entry level at best. I look forward to my next purchase being elsewhere and for this and other reviews to continue to showcase the customers experience and for this business not to take for granted the investment made at time of purchase. **UPDATE** Should be no stars. Let me explain, today I was left stranded in Cameron Park. My 2010 Honda Odyssey would not start. I had to get a jump start. The moment I turned off the van, the van would not start. the battery is brand new. I take the battery to O'Reillys auto parts and they informed me that the battery cells are bad. What in the world did did Visalia Honda sell me? Are they in the business to sell junk batteries that are no good? This is a prime example it is not always best to go to the dealership. I have been jerked around by Visalia Honda too many times now. This is more of a 1 1/2 star rating. Since Yelp doesn't allow for 1 1/2, I was forced to give it two stars. Let me explain and you will see what I mean. On 07/20/2019, I had just returned from a family vacation. I was gone from home for 9 days total. That is a long tine to be gone but worth it. As we dropped off our Aunt in Porterville, I was a drink for the 2 1/2 hour drive home. As we were at the store, the lights in the dash all came on and the wife turned off the car. Bad move on her part. I got into the vehicle and nothing. I knew it. It was the alternator that I had put in by Mel Raptor Honda a year ago. Why is my alternator already bad? This is a Honda and not a junk car. Now I am stuck. I called Visalia Honda but they were closing soon. They would not re-open until Monday. Now I am really stuck. I had my Uncle meet me and we jumped started the van and I limped it to their house. Luckily for us, they have a pool. We made the best out of a bad situation. On Monday, the van is delivered to Visalia Honda and Ricardo is in charge of getting my van fixed. He said my battery was no good and I needed to change the positive cable. I was frustrated (with the van) and I just told him to handle the repairs. The cable was $237 alone. Technically I didn't need the cable because it was snug but I didn't think they would work on my car. I asked Ricardo about the alternator and he said he needed to get the battery and cable in before they can check the alternator. I was confused. Autozone can check the alternator but Honda can't without installing the cable and battery. Fast forward four days later and the van is fixed. The issue per Honda was the battery. I don't believe this one bit but hey I am not a mechanic. This is where it goes south quick. I had my Aunt pick up the van and meet me and my family in Fresno at the Amtrak station. Yes the family and I rode the Amtrak. It was fun. The kids loved it. I walked up to the van and the van turned off. I tried to start it and nothing. WTF. I am stuck in a bad area with my family in 103 degree heat. What do you think the issue was? I say alternator Honda says it was not. Now I am playing phone tag with Honda trying to get someone on the phone. No lie, it took them over nine minutes to finally get me Ricardo. I explained to him that I am stuck with the same issue. Ricardo said the van was fine when it left Visalia. I know it was fine because it's here in Fresno but it's not fine now since we're stuck here in Fresno. This is where Ricardo was put in a tough position. He wanted to help but was getting push back by his manager Pete I believe. In the end, Honda wanted me to deal with this issue wanting me to tow it to Fresno Honda and worry about getting back home on my own. No that is total BS. First of all, how can you just pawn off your repair that you just did? Plus they wanted me to use my tow service again. Seriously? Shame on you Visalia Honda for trying to leave my family high and dry in this heat, in a dangerous area and a hour and a half away from my home. I know Ricardo was just following orders but whoever was giving these orders does not have compassion. Here is what I expected a true caring place to do, come get the car and provide me transportation home. I know it was late but sometime we need to make the right call. Go the extra mile. Make the right decisions since it involved a stranded family. After some back and forth, and I really Mean some back and forth because I wasn't going to budge. This is my family's safety we're talking about. Visalia Honda made the right decision and set up a rental car for us and arranged for a tow truck to come get the van and take it back to Honda. It was nice that they set up the rental car for three days. All I needed was one to get back home but they did it for three. In the end, guess what the issue was? The alternator was the issue. Like I said I am not a mechanic but I just dealt with this issue so I knew it was the alternator. Makes me wonder now if the new battery and positive cable really needed to be changed? Oh well I am done. In the end, I felt this experience could have been handled differently. Take the stress off the customer. Make us feel like we matter. Be cautious when making your next "deal" with these folks! We found it suspicious when they tried to tack on an additional $3,000 for "taxes and fees" on a lease deal. They couldn't even provide a clear breakdown of these charges. Instead, we drove to Selma, got the same vehicle, paid only the advertised down payment, and ended up with a much lower monthly payment. These guys are out to rip you off, and they've lost a loyal customer for good. We'll never waste our time or money there again. To top it off, they had the nerve to call us an hour after we left. Initially, she was told it would be inspected by around four hours later. Understandable... Well, 6 1/2 hours later, it still had not been seen. Multiple customers had come and gone. Finally, she approached the desk and was then told that it could probably be seen in another hour and a half. Ultimately, the car was diagnosed shortly after that, but they did not have the part she needed and it would take several weeks to a month to get the requisite part and repair. Over the many times I've visited, I always leave unsatisfied. Just recently, on May 16, 2022, I took in my Civic 2018 hatchback to diagnose an ac problem. The 10th gen civics have notoriously had awful ac systems, and Honda themselves even gotten sued for how bad they are. Many dealers know this, so they priced it over $300 just to diagnose it. All they do is place dye inside the system with a wait of 3 hours. Other mechanics can do this at a way lower price. They came back with saying my evaporator has a pin hole, and they quoted the repair at over $2000!! So I denied that repair and searching for somewhere else to repair it at a lower cost. But the cost was not the only misfortune thing, the mechanics there do an awful job reassembling my civic. After that day, I found my low pressure service cap was missing. Along with missing clips to hold in a plastic trim in my engine bay. One other time I visited, on January 10, 2022, with the same civic I asked if they could check why my trunk latch wasn't working. They returned it with the interior trims not attached. I have not checked my trunk until I got home, thats when I found my trunk in disarray. Overall, this place leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth. I come from a town with no honda dealer, so I trust I'll have that verified honda service whenever I visit, only to have the job done mediocrity. My advice is to check the areas of your vehicle where it was serviced before leaving the dealership, god knows if the mechanics there place everything back to where it was. read more

I purchased a Honda Civic in 2016 and in 2019 my car ac system completely stopped working. I spoke with Honda because I received a letter informing me that I was possibly covered under a recall. When I went, I paid $400 for them to tell me that every other part in my ac system has been affected and doesn't work. My car stopped blowing cold air completely. I have gone in twice to Honda only for them to tell me that the condenser, evaporator, and hoses are bad as well as the compressor (which is covered by the recall), however they won't do anything until I fix those. I was quoted $2400. Called corporate office, spoke with several people only to get a run around. Beware, if you purchased a Honda there's a high likelihood your AC system will go out. I researched this online and many other people are experiencing the same issue. I know that there is goodwill money to help people with these types of situations, but they have been unwilling to budge on their position. This was my first car I've purchased, and against my Toyota owning family I bought a Honda because of their reliability. I have to say that I will never purchase another Honda again, and I won't be going to Gropetti for any work, purchase, etc... Buyer beware. read more
