A1 Passport & Visa Express - Fast Friendly Reliable Service

A1 Passport & Visa Express

In seeking to replace my damaged passport expeditiously, I selected A1 Passport & Visa Express…read morebecause of its proximity to my office in Washington, DC, and also because of its many positive reviews on Yelp, etc. Rather than having to communicate online and await a response, Sam picked up the phone on my first call. I explained my situation,, and he walked me through the process and told me what to prepare prior to my appointment at his office the nest day. Upon my arrival, when Sam discovered mistakes in my paperwork, he re-did it on the spot, took a new passport photo, and advised to expect my new passport in several days. This is exactly what happened. What a seamless and positive experience! I would highly recommend A1 Passport to anyone needing passport/visa services! Tom N.

Sam was helpful, efficient, and communicative every step of the way. He answered all of my questions on the phone, gave me an appointment the very next day, and took 15 minutes max to get my picture and documents in order. From that appointment, it took only one week to receive my new passport. Although pricey (and completely my fault for procrastinating on this!), Sam's expertise and efficiency put me at ease. I cannot thank him and this service enough. Highly recommend if you need a passport in a pinch!

So it is important to note that SHE gets five stars, and TravelVisa Pro is fortunate to have her around. The agent our hiring company initially assigned to us was busy one afternoon, so the receptionist (fortunately) put us through to an available agent, Christen Werner. She was so attentive, thorough, and immediate with her responses that my wife and I have dealt solely with her since then. Christen has been patient as we have been awaiting documents from various agents but yet has sent everything that has come across her desk immediately to the relevant visa issuing authorities at the Saudi Embassy. She has kept us up to date with each development in the process, even as some parties have (such as the registrar of my wife's alma matter ) submitted incorrect documentation and we had to wait for another set to be sent. My wife and I have taught overseas for over six years and the most frustrating thing is navigating multiple bureaucracies while having minimal feedback while your future is being held in the hands of strangers. Travel Visa Pro has been a breath of fresh air during this process that would otherwise be so frustrating. It will be a year before our family and friends see us again and we have enjoyed spending time with them in a mental state of peace. It is well worth the cost to not only have the visa process expedited but to have the peace and presence of mind in the last few weeks at home before you say goodbye for another year.

***AVOID USING THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. "CONCIERGE" PROMISES NOT MET AND NO FULL REFUND. IT WILL…read moreBE CHEAPER AND FASTER FOR YOU TO JUST GO TO THE CONSULATE YOURSELF.*** This was my first time using Travel Visa Pro. I decided to give it a shot because I had a last minute business trip come up that required me getting my China visa. I had about 30 days to do it. When I put in my application, and paid extra for the "concierge services," my agent John Sisson told me I could expect around a 2 week turn around. He also gave me a list of documents to submit, which I did. I should also note, HE insisted I sent my expired Taiwanese passport, which I (and even the resolutions manager, Ruta, who admitted it to me over the phone) believed messed up my entire application. After the 2nd week mark, I started getting multiple strange requests for more and more documentation. This included a "statement" for 1) a "travel" document 2) "name change," which I've never had... 3) AND THEN, John came back and said they also wanted my birth certificate AND copies of both my parents' passports. This was ludicrous - all my Taiwanese American friends, along with my Taiwanese dad who has done visas for my family - never encountered this. They were all stunned that this was happening. The core problem is that I'm estranged from my biological mom's side of the family. I've also never had a birth certificate since I've kept a US passport all my life for I-9 employment, travel, identity verification, etc., and never had the need a birth cert. Never mind that it would be IMPOSSIBLE for me to get a copy of my biological mom's passport (assuming she even has one, or is still alive), I came to find after placing an order for a birth cert with California that it could take up to 14 weeks or more to receive. Since I couldn't afford to wait 14 weeks, I told Lester Sisson my situation. His response was basically, "Well, too bad, that's what the consulate wants." Then I told him and John I needed a refund since their service caused me to cancel my trip. After having to follow up a few times, they put me in contact with Ruta Stankus, the resolutions manager. I discussed everything with Ruta, and how upset I was about this whole situation. And that's where she told ME that she agreed we never should have sent the consulate my expired Taiwanese passport. She (and Lester, in writing - **see attached photo**) also said that recently, Travel Visa Pro has had lots of issues recently with getting dual Taiwanese-American citizens their China visas. She told me over the phone that she would get my passports back, along with a full refund. I did get my passports back, but they refunded me "the consulate fee" and "10% of the service fee." I asked them for a full refund, but Ruta basically blamed it on me and said YOU withdrew your application, so basically it's your fault. Needless to say, I am REALLY upset. I paid for "concierge" services and because of THEIR delays and incompetence, I had to cancel an overseas business trip. My bigger concern is, if Lester and Ruta are telling me they're KNOWINGLY seeing China visa delays with dual citizens "all the time," THEN WHY WAS I NOT WARNED BEFOREHAND THAT IT COULD TAKE LONGER THAN 2 WEEKS? It's as if they were surprised that it did, and then when it did, and I subsequently had to cancel my trip, and then withdrew my application, they blamed it on me for not just waiting another 14 weeks to maybe hopefully get my birth certificate. Who knows if I would have gotten random mysterious requests for more documentation and that a birth certificate, 14 weeks from now, would even settle it? So, I've wasted one month, had to cancel/rearrange a bunch of my business plans, and pay for the agency's dishonesty/incompetence with the turn around time. They also stopped responding to my emails asking for a refund. DO NOT USE AT ALL COSTS. THEY WOULD RATHER STEAL YOUR $400 THAN PAY FOR THEIR OWN FAILED SERVICE. I only used them to save myself a trip from having to fly to the consulate myself, but now it would have been faster and cheaper to have just done it myself.

Services that make it possible to expedite a visa when your boss decides that he needs to go to Indonesia next week! Seriously, is there anything more nerve-wracking than waiting for a government intermediary to issue you a visa after you've fedexed them the very passport that is needed for the already booked, $150 change-fee-flight to Jakarta? Washington Visa and Passport Services is hands-down phenomenal. There's no bureaucratic hoopla, just folks who actually ANSWER THEIR PHONES, and with them all your questions, who honor their five-day turn-around in THREE DAYS, who lay out the guidelines for visas clearly and thoroughly, and who have yet to cause my already overloaded EA brain an iota of worry. Because, really, whether we win or lose that multi-billion dollar account has nothing to do with me anyway, so let's keep it that way, shall we?

I cannot comment on that end/part of their business. Also, if their physical business office visual orderliness/professional look is any reflection, steer clear. No clear signage on front of building, up many stairs, so those with physical limitations, beware. We went down to Kinko's for what we needed. This is an instance where 'Good Luck' is appropriate.

As I'm writing this I'm making a mental checklist of what to pack to go to India (my flight leaves…read morein 5 hours!). I'm going to India tonight only because the people at American Visa of DC are efficient and competent. Last week, in a state of panic, my family and I realized that my visa to travel to India was not valid and I needed to apply for a new one. We had already bought our tickets and we scarily came to terms that we had only 5 business days to get my visa application to DC, for the Indian Embassy to process it in time, and send it back to us before our flight left tonight. Also since I'm considered a person of Indian Origin by the Indian Government, I automatically have to apply for an "entry visa," which is more expensive than a tourist visa and requires more documentation (they needed a copy of my birth certificate amongst other things, I was born in India!). We all had the same reaction that there wasn't enough time to get the application to the Embassy and for it to process before we left. We all were worried that I'd have to change my flight. Through the panic, my brilliant sister intervened and gave me a list of courier companies that I could pay to deal with the visa application submission instead of traveling all the way from Charlotte to DC, and American Visa of DC being one of them. I had called a couple of the companies on the list last Wednesday and the response I kept getting was there wasn't enough time and there was nothing I could do to get my visa processed in time, my only option being to change my flight date (costing a minimum of $500). Then I got on the phone with Benjie at American Visa of DC and hope was installed. He was calm and collected, even after listening to my hysteria, and seemed really familiar with Indian visas. He told me to fed ex my application overnight and they would take care of dropping the application and picking it up for me, then he said they'd fed ex it overnight back to me. I was ecstatic and jumped on getting all the docs together and fed ex'ed it to him. I sent him the package last Wednesday and it was supposed to get to him on Thursday morning. Unfortunately with my luck, the plane that my package was on had a mechanical error and the delivery got delayed until Friday morning, which meant fewer business days for the visa to get processed. After this, I was confident I would have to change my flight and that my visa would not come through, that I stalled on packing and started looking at later flights. In the interim, I still, per insistence by my parents, kept calling American Visa for status updates on my visa. I talked to Samantha a few times and I'm sure she had a lot of other things to do, but she patiently looked into my record and kept me up to speed with where the visa was at. Lastly, I talked to Moses a few times as well and also got a positive response that they were working on it. Then last night Moses called me and gave me music to my ears - my visa was ready and they were going to fed ex it overnight so I'd get it around 10am today. He even promised to email me the tracking number, which I got from Monique. This morning, I looked out my window and saw the fed ex van and ran to it like kids to an ice cream truck. Inside that lovely white envelope was my passport, in a nice laminated cover, courtesy of American Visa of DC, and inside my passport, the visa stamp! It arrived nine hours before I'm supposed to fly out! Halleluiah! Thank you, thank you, thank you, American Visa of DC, you guys are life savers!
