I can't say enough good things about Oasis. They are very professional. They have two kinds of…read moreservices: 1) Getting you a visa from start to finish and 2) Simply taking your passport to the Chinese embassy for you since this is required to get a visa to visit China depending on which state you live in. (I live in Texas, which is one of the states assigned to the embassy in Washington, as opposed to one of the several consulates the Chinese government has in other cities.) My case was case #2--I had applied online for the visa (this can be a bit painful, depending on how much time you have, how much help you can get from others, and how well you understand the form instructions--if I had to do it over again, I might have gotten their start-to-finish service; it certainly would have saved me time) and gotten the go ahead from the embassy to bring in my passport. I signed up with Oasis on their website, filled out whatever they required, and paid the fee (about $60 for their services plus a little over $20 each way for FedEx second day service to take my passport to them and then get it back to me). They sent me a shipping label which I took with my passport and a couple of other things they wanted me to stick in the envelope (I don't quite remember what they were right now) and took it to my local FedEx store. They, then promptly took my passport to the embassy and got an estimated passport pick up date from the embassy. They went to the embassy on that date, picked up my passport and sent it to me. If I understand it correctly, I actually received it a day early (next day in stead of second day). Problems: Well, the instructions were not always obvious and I had to call them a couple of times to get clarification. Other than that, I was very impressed by their service and would highly recommend them.

This company is probably fine if everything goes right with your application - but the minute there…read moreis a problem and you need more help, they become unresponsive and avoid communication. Super stressful experience. I hired Oasis specifically so that someone was in my corner to hold my hand and give me good advice on the off-chance something went wrong with my application. Well, something went wrong with my application, the approval was delayed by the embassy, and I wasn't able to make my trip. The delay wasn't Oasis' fault - but the way they handled it added more stress to the situation instead of less. At first, I felt very comfortable with the company because their intake process was so streamlined and communication was proactive in the beginning. But when it became clear that my application may not be approved before my trip and I needed some extra help, I called them for advice, and it was clear they weren't invested in helping me figure it out. I would email the service line with a time-sensitive question, and not get a response or call back on time. I would ask the person handling my account to proactively update me on whether or not there was a change in my application, she said she would, but never did - not once, over the course of two weeks. I had to call and chase for every update. When I decided to cancel the application, they didn't notify me when they received my passport back from the embassy, and they didn't notify me when they sent my passport back to me, so I had no idea that a delivery was coming. There's more, but you get the idea. Seemed clear that these people have one streamlined process, and if your case falls outside the bounds of the process, they de-prioritize you.

Services that make it possible to expedite a visa when your boss decides that he needs to go to Indonesia next week! Seriously, is there anything more nerve-wracking than waiting for a government intermediary to issue you a visa after you've fedexed them the very passport that is needed for the already booked, $150 change-fee-flight to Jakarta? Washington Visa and Passport Services is hands-down phenomenal. There's no bureaucratic hoopla, just folks who actually ANSWER THEIR PHONES, and with them all your questions, who honor their five-day turn-around in THREE DAYS, who lay out the guidelines for visas clearly and thoroughly, and who have yet to cause my already overloaded EA brain an iota of worry. Because, really, whether we win or lose that multi-billion dollar account has nothing to do with me anyway, so let's keep it that way, shall we?

I cannot comment on that end/part of their business. Also, if their physical business office visual orderliness/professional look is any reflection, steer clear. No clear signage on front of building, up many stairs, so those with physical limitations, beware. We went down to Kinko's for what we needed. This is an instance where 'Good Luck' is appropriate.
