I hired Tony's Pest Killers for rodent control and later for mold treatment and vapor barrier…read morereplacement in my crawlspace, based on positive reviews. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing, especially considering the $4,217 I paid for both jobs. Issues Encountered: 1. Poor Customer Service: The rodent treatment included an unexpected $16.83 credit card processing fee, which was not disclosed upfront (the amount of the fee is not the issue as each of the techs for the crawlspace job were given a $40 tip before I realized the job was left incomplete). While agreeing not to charge me the fee on future jobs, Tony called me to chastise me about complaining about the fee when he charges less than his competitors for services provided. How much Tony charges in relation to his competitors is irrelevant to the fact that I was forced to pay an avoidable fee. Tony's response to my concerns regarding the incomplete vapor barrier installation was equally unprofessional and dismissive. 2. Incomplete and Haphazard Work on the crawlspace job: * The job was scheduled from 9am to 6:30pm, but the techs arrived late without notification, and the work was completed after 8pm. * The vapor barrier installation was unprofessional and incomplete, with visible ground, dirt on the barrier, and improperly pinned sections. Trash/debris was left under and on top of the barrier despite a $1,280 charge for trash removal. After sharing photos and videos of the incomplete work, Tony agreed to send someone to finish the job but at the same time made excuses for the techs who started the job. He assured me the vapor barrier would address humidity issues, but when the humidity in my house reached 80%, he suggested contacting a home inspector instead of measuring the crawlspace humidity as promised. Despite paying several thousand dollars, I decided not to pursue the matter further due to the stress involved. I hope this review helps others make an informed decision about Tony's Pest Killers. EDIT to include response to business owner: I have included images of our text conversation about the credit card processing fee. You are lying. You NEVER said your competitors charged $1,000 for the job you did because they don't charge $1,000. You only mentioned that the price was $350 pre-covid. After I thanked you via text I thought that would be the end of the conversation but you called me to chastise me about complaining about the credit card processing fee. Your ease at lying amazes me. As far as the crawl space, you estimated the crawlspace to be 1600 square ft not including the cement blocks. You asked about the old insulation and whether I wanted it thrown out with the rest of the trash before you started the job. I told you I did want it thrown out. I have attached the text exchange. At no point did you say anything about the old insulation not being included in the estimate as you were sure to mention about the trash on the cement blocks not being included in the estimate. You left any trash on the cement blocks because you said that wasn't included. You provided an estimate and then you provided the final invoice, which I paid in full. The fact that you rounded down in estimating does not justify or diminish the fact that you left the job incomplete. I do not owe you "gratitude" (as you suggest in your response) for the cost of doing business. It's bizarre that you think you are doing people a favor by providing service that is incomplete and haphazard. Good customer service goes a long way. No one asked your techs when the job was going to be done every time they emerged from the crawlspace. In fact, they were each given $40 tip ($80 total) when they claimed that the job was complete. I never told you that I preferred white plastic. I sent you an email with a question about the difference between the white and black plastic. Period. Your lies are outrageous and say a lot about your character and how you run your business.

I have been a customer for many years and in the past impressed with the customer focused response to special customer needs. When I purchased another property in the Bayview area 2 previous GETEM technicians could not get it right. I had numerous "water bugs" (roach like pest) encroaching the interior of the home after multiple treatments. This became intolerable when the Roach like pest were now found in the beds. It was not until a seasoned 20+ year veteran GETEM employee carefully surveyed the home and quickly changed the pesticide approach eliminating any more ROACH like pest in the beds. 2 weeks ago I was offhandedly informed due to "route software" my home would be serviced by a different technician. The uncaring unresponsive "Amy" who manages calls showed no empathy or compassion. She simply showed intolerance to a customer's need to have a seasoned expert to continue servicing the home to prevent ROACHES in the bed. The request to have the seasoned technician continue was not unreasonable given the "route" was adjacent and would not require additional time or expense. The new business model of GETEM is SCREW-THEM (loyal customer). I have moved my pest services to another "family-owned" pest control business who responded within hours and whose service was superior and more affordable. Maybe my $1,000.00 a year residential account is not worth an effort to a corporate greedy company. Final parting words from GETEM ...."I am sorry you feel that way" which sum up the new business model. New Business Name should be "For-GETEM"

I'd like to start by saying I try to give all small business owners the benefit of the doubt when…read morethere are issues with services I pay for, as my wife and I have a small business. However, using Accurid for a roof rodent issue in my bayside rental property's attic around May has been one of the most frustrating, unprofessional experiences I've had in my many years of being a landlord. While Dennis has been professional in tone and demeanor during phone conversations, his team only came to my property one time to complete a rodent service and never came back for any of the 4-5 scheduled (then rescheduled) follow-up inspections to complete/resolve the rodent issue. Over several weeks they consistently no-showed appoints and I'd have to call after the fact to reschedule. At first I was at least getting a reason of a tech being sick or them being short staff, but eventually I just stopped calling because they'd no-showed so many times. I left it alone and assumed they missed the mark and it was what was --as this sometimes happens with smaller and/or less professional service companies. For some reason about 3 weeks ago I started getting phone calls from his scheduling employee for my "quarterly service", which I NEVER signed up for. In the 2 times I spoke with her I explained that they never finished the rodent service I paid for and I would like a phone call back to get that figured out before agreeing to any type of ongoing service. Since it had been a few months since the no-shows, I wasn't likely to sign up for a quarterly service, but I thought it was a reasonable request to receive some type of call and explanation as to how/why I was missed so many times AND a plan to resolve the fact that I had paid for a service that was never completed...especially since they were calling to schedule a quarterly service. Fast forward to today, September 1st...I don't have any voicemails or missed calls from Accurid for a follow up regarding my request for call back from Dennis on the incomplete service, but I check my business email and I received a $105.00 charge from Accurid for pest services. I immediatley called their phone number and Dennis answered. He looked up my property address and asked if I signed up for a quarterly service. I explained the backstory and how they never finished the rodent service. My primary issues leading to this review: 1) Dennis didn't apologize, ask about what he could do, or even make a veiled attempt at trying to get something done asap to rectify the original rodent service that was never fully completed 2) Dennis didn't know for sure whether I had signed up for a quarterly service, yet still kept my credit card payment information from the incomplete rodent service AND, even worse, charged me for a "quarterly" service 3) Dennis informed me I'll get an email today (I have very little confidence that email will come btw and will be submitting a fraud dispute with my credit card company) with the payment refund, and it would take about 10 days for a refund 4) I NEVER agreed to a quarterly service, was overly understanding on the multiple reschedules/no-shows, and even gave them the benefit of the doubt on them just missing their mark on the rodent issue...yet the money they absolutely improperly charged me today will not come back to me for over a week and a half. How is it not a priority to resolve this ASAP, even if it means cutting a check, cash app, whatever? :| As a business owner with some level of integrity I would at least think an apology and quick refund of a fee for non-rendered, non-agreed to services would be a top priority. Based on their other reviews I assume everyone doesn't get this level of terrible service, but at this point I also would not be surprised one bit if there are many other customers with experiences just as bad as this...which some of the Yelp reviews show. I should have checked Yelp!
