I highly recommend Getem Pest Control Services. I have used them for a few years now and I have always been very pleased with them. Technician Mr Robert Smith is wonderful. He is always prompt, personable, and respectful. The staff that handles appointments have always been friendly and easy to work with. I will continue to use them. read more

Just learned this local "family owned" business has decided customer needs are second to rapid expansion, cost cutting, service last approach to customer special needs all based to squeeze more profit. I have been a customer for many years and in the past impressed with the customer focused response to special customer needs. When I purchased another property in the Bayview area 2 previous GETEM technicians could not get it right. I had numerous "water bugs" (roach like pest) encroaching the interior of the home after multiple treatments. This became intolerable when the Roach like pest were now found in the beds. It was not until a seasoned 20+ year veteran GETEM employee carefully surveyed the home and quickly changed the pesticide approach eliminating any more ROACH like pest in the beds. 2 weeks ago I was offhandedly informed due to "route software" my home would be serviced by a different technician. The uncaring unresponsive "Amy" who manages calls showed no empathy or compassion. She simply showed intolerance to a customer's need to have a seasoned expert to continue servicing the home to prevent ROACHES in the bed. The request to have the seasoned technician continue was not unreasonable given the "route" was adjacent and would not require additional time or expense. The new business model of GETEM is SCREW-THEM (loyal customer). I have moved my pest services to another "family-owned" pest control business who responded within hours and whose service was superior and more affordable. Maybe my $1,000.00 a year residential account is not worth an effort to a corporate greedy company. Final parting words from GETEM ...."I am sorry you feel that way" which sum up the new business model. New Business Name should be "For-GETEM" read more

I would highly recommend Getem Services. Living hundreds of miles from a loved one has numerous challenges including knowing who you can trust to help. Charlie and his company went above and beyond to assist my mom as well as continue to make sure she and her home are taken care of since I'm not there. Straight forward, honest, reliable, effective, attentive and generous are all qualities of the people and this company! read more

Reliable and trustworthy. We've Been using them for years. They listen to their customers. read more

Thanks, Gary! New homeowner. New to the area. Gary came by to check our home and overall said the house looked good. We had noticed a collection of bugs in our master bath and were relieved it was a minor issue that didn't require their services. We fully expected him to spray the house but to our surprise, that wasn't the case, and that's a good thing. He didn't push any products. It was obvious he was trying to help, and I appreciate that. It was also obvious he knew his stuff, and the pest patterns/history in the neighborhood. Well done. We are using them from now on. read more

Service is really horrible and for $120 per quarter I expect more. They set some rat traps that I had to call and have them check when they started to smell vs coming out or scheduling a follow-up while they were there. Then it went another another 3 months without being checked. The lady who answers the phone is rude and acts like she would rather be having a root canal. Of course no one set up a third check so when I called today, the first available is 2 weeks out and I am an existing customer. They also do not have appts later than 4, so if you work, you are out of luck. Also they will not spray for ants if it is raining or going to rain soooo, no need setting an appt 2 weeks from now. read more

We LOVE Getem staff and their services! Have been with Getem since 2004. Now adding a second house to the contract. As soon as I have an issue, they come out. Technicians are warm, friendly and thorough. Reasonably priced quarterly service. Always respectful of furnishings. We wouldn't use another extermination service. So happy with Getem! read more

I just had Will come by to do an inspection for a small issue I've been having with Mud Daubers, a non-aggressive type of wasp, and I was concerned of nests around my house. He found two small nests which I told him I had already sprayed myself a few days earlier, which coincidentally since then I hadn't really had an issue with them. After inspecting some more and talking with him, he told me he didn't feel comfortable taking my money because he really just didn't think that I had a major, or even minor, problem. So, I decided to give a 5 star rating on here because of their honesty and good business practices, not to mention, he even arrived a little early! Most of the time I schedule home improvement types of appointments it's rare the person doing the work shows up on time, so it's fantastic to have someone from a company actually arrive a little early. Because of this awesome service, I will be using Getem in the future for any and all pest control services I need, and will gladly refer my friends and family to them as well. Oh and a big thanks to Will for his honesty and professionalism! read more

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY FOR CONTENT AND READ UNTIL THE END!! This is not the typical dissatisfied review. There have been several incidents of misconduct from Getem employees. I rent an apartment space at my current living quarters and an older technician by the name of Mike constantly made inappropriate passes at me on several occasions. He even went as far as to leave me hand written notes asking when he could see me again. Please understand, I was polite to this man in passing ONE time and from that one brief exchange he created an illusion in his mind that transformed into a fantasy. When I finally reported Mike, one of the female employees at Getem disclosed that there have been previous reports of misconduct against him. Evidently, Mike is a repeat offender. I was informed that he would be removed as the technician assigned to the building I live in and a new tech would takeover his duties. I do not have pests, therefore I do not require pest control. For this reason, earlier in April I recently called Getem and kindly requested they inform the pest control guy to skip my apartment. Employee J said she would add a note to the account. Evidently, the note was misplaced because the tech proceeded to enter my apartment. Upon this discovery I called Getem and asked why he was in my living quarters after specific instructions were provided well in advance. Employee T said that Employee J probably sent him the wrong apartment number. Property management later informed me that he unknowingly entered the premises without prior notice. So, which is it?? Furthermore, when technicians arrive they typically change pest traps and spray problem areas. The product they use usually has a faint scent that lingers. However, when I returned I noticed that new traps were not put in my apartment and there was no residual scent. So, when I called Getem again and asked employee T what the tech had actually done because there were no visible changes, she had no response. When I shared this with property management, the message was then relayed to Getem. 48 hours later Getem finally disclosed that the traps were not changed because it wasn't on the schedule to do so and the tech used an odorless gel/spray hence I didn't smell anything. I'm no detective, but that was almost too easy. My concerns were passed along to management and Getem finally addressed them AFTER I shared this information FIRST. Coincidence? Since when do they use odorless spray? There was not a single trace of liquid anywhere to be found. And they've NEVER used gel previously. I've never known gel to dissolve quickly unless added to a liquified substance. Out of all the days, why attempt to change your choice of products now? Or could it be that their responses were tailored to align perfectly with my story? After all, they didn't have a response when they were initially asked, then 48 hours later they had the perfect explanation. Coincidence? The worst part is, Getem told property management that I threatened their employees and their ENTIRE office staff. I was willing to leave well enough alone until they proceeded to lie. Why, though? I threatened THEIR ENTIRE office staff?! They had a choice to make and they chose to perpetuate a false narrative instead. They're depravity and lack of morality is reprehensible and absolutely disgusting. If I could give Getem half a star I would. It's evident, they work with predators and Mike is proof of that. If he made time to write me hand written notes, I could only imagine what else he made time for while he was alone in my living quarters. Their employees have a history of operating outside the bounds of their job description. In other words, they tend to do a little more than their job. You know the saying, one bad apple spoils the whole bunch? I am thoroughly convinced that Edward entered my living space and did not do his job. What was he doing in my apartment then? What is Getem hiding? Do you think technicians should be required to wear live-feed cameras or camcorders while working? Please review the facts I've shared above and feel free to comment, share and even tag a few news stations as well. In addition, Getem has a policy in place that prohibits them from interacting with tenants. If they reply to this when they see it, not only will they be in breach of that policy and contradict themselves, but they will most likely be doing it to salvage their reputation. Pay close attention! I for one, believe the pen will always be stronger than the sword. read more

Solid customer service from these guys! They're very knowledgeable, from the person answering the phone all the way to the pest control techs that come out. They have affordable payment plans and have even come out if I noticed a pest In my house after their initial sweep of the house. read more

Edward is a very professional and polite technician. He went above the call of duty to provide a service inside our home even though we were only scheduled for an exterior service. In these times of high turnover and significant vacancies in the national workforce, Getem always has the best employees with a very low turnover rate. This is not the easiest work but every Getem employee I have met has been cheerful and genuinely happy to provide service. Keep up the good work! read more

Five star service from Getem pest control. The technician who came to our house was quick and thorough and provided me with some peace of mind after encountering a rodent in our basement. The technician inspected our basement and exterior of our home and set up several traps. He answered my many questions thoroughly and gave clear instructions about what to do until the follow up visit occurs. I also appreciate that this is a local, family-owned business. Would recommend this company to anyone who has pest concern! read more

I started noticing some scratching noises behind a wall in my house, so I called Getem for a free inspection. Phil came out and quickly spotted the entry point into the house. He plugged the entry with steel wool free of charge, explained my options going forward, and told me to just give them another call if the problem persisted. I definitely won't hesitate to use them again in the future based on this experience. read more

was charged for things that were never discussed ...they charge credit card for incorrect charges..they are scamming people in my opinion...

I use them for both commercial and home applications and they are amazing with each. All of the techs are very knowledgeable about pests and the correct way to exterminate them. The front office staff is on the ball and very professional with all communication. read more

We just moved to VA from NV and have never used a pest control company. As soon as we moved into our brand new house we had ants in our upstairs bathroom, whatever the little baby red spiders are all over our front patio, and a spider the size of my cat helped himself into the house within a week of moving it. The mosquitoes were also terrible and we've got pets. I put in an online request and was contacted the very next day by Liz who was great. She explained everything to me and sent me a quote within a few minutes of us ending our call. It took me a little over a week to get back to her with all the move in stuff going on. I emailed her to let her know we were interested in services and she called me first thing the next business day to get our account set up and we were scheduled within a few days for service. On the day of our initial spray we were serviced by Edward...probably the nicest guy I've ever met! He was great. Was able to find where the ants were coming into our second story bathroom and did all the things to prevent them from coming in the house again. We have only had the 1 service so we'll see how things change over the next few weeks. Supposedly their coming every 3 weeks for mosquitoes and quarterly for everything else...I'll check back in a few weeks! read more

Getem has been wonderful! We chose Getem after another service told us we "had to live with" those giant, disgusting American cockroaches. John has taken care of the problem and always addresses any pest control issues we may have. We are very pleased with their services. My only recommendation is that technicians wear shoe/boot covers. read more

Unbelievable. I would not recommend this company. I will be fair, and not say anything right now because I am angry.

Long story short, I got my apartment sprayed for the first time in May. They asked if I wanted to sign up for their quarterly services and put my card on file. I said no. I'll call back in 3 months. I didn't call back in August. It's October..I went away for the weekend, came home to a slip on my door stating that my exterior had been sprayed out. I'm thinking, hmm that's funny. I never scheduled it. Checked my bank statements, no charge. So I'm thinking, maybe it's a ploy to call them back. A few days later I get a $120 invoice in my email. I call. The lady said..well you're signed up for the quarterly services. I said no I'm not. If I was signed up for quarterly services, why wait 5 months to spray again? Yeah uh huh. Ok. She's like, well the lady called and left a message for when you were scheduled and when she didn't hear from you she assumed she was good to spray. Um...no. She removed the charge. They know they're wrong. Honestly, what they do, can easily be done by you. It's a rip off. Do it yourself. read more
