BUT I want a wine shop to have ambiance and make the experience memorable. The lady working had ZERO personality. Disappointing experience to say the least. We bought several bottles and left.

I show up with both my classic Jeeps this time at the car show today. my elderly mom was helping me drive my other one so I could bring two cars I ask the young lady if I can park really quick to the side so I can coordinate with my mom and fill the paperwork out . Since my mom doesn't know how to park or what do at these shows and I didn't want to hold up the line as I had cars behind me and my mom. Plus I have to drive her back home so I have to park both cars myself And that asshole lady was extremely rude to me, telling me I have to hurry up and I can't park in those spots even for a min or two just to coordinate with my mom. Is that how I am gonna be treated when I ask to park there for 2 min to get out of the way of other cars ? What a fucking joke What will you have me do sit in the middle of the road ? You know what I am no longer recommending this distillery. You all can kiss my fucking ass. I'm not spending money on the butterscotch whiskey like I have for years anymore. I do not need to be treated like that !!!

The owner was there and graciously allowed us to take photos with him, he was so friendly and welcoming too. Then we finished our tasting (3oz maximum per person per ABC), taking our cocktails out on the porch where we drank them in rocking chairs enjoying the beautiful day. One of the workers was so sweet and brought us a table and some cups of water as well. Just a really welcoming place with some history. When you're in Culpeper make sure you make this a stop.

Overall this location is nice. There's plenty of parking outside and the store is nicely organized. I passed by a couple different staff and no one said anything to me. No greeting and I wasn't offered assistance despite the fact I was aimlessly walking around. The store isn't huge but does have a big selection. To me the prices seemed higher than the liquor stores near me. I will say I saw several promotions throughout the store, several that had a free mini bottle attached. (Which I never see in DC / MOCO) I was impressed with the mini bottle section and the prices were spot on in that department. I didn't end up buying anything since I could get most of it cheaper where I live- but that doesn't mean this isn't a good stop if you're in a jam.

We went for quick beer flights and food. The staff was engaged and made sure we got our food reasonably quickly as they understood we were hungry. I was trying to find a favorite beer, but unfortunately, I liked them all, haha. We couldn't tell if the food tasted good or if we were influenced by our long hike, but we ate all of it quickly. The tall ceiling made the place look expansive. It's a bit of a drive for me to come back just for it, but if I'm ever on the way, I'm definitely stopping by for the beers.

As I've noted before in previous reviews, I'm especially picky in my winery choices. Prior to…read moremoving (most reluctantly) back to DC from living in California for 15 years, I had access to some of the best wines in the country. The wineries in the DMV area are generally lovely. But the wines? Well, they can sometimes leave little to be desired. It was such a pleasant surprise to visit this spot and find such high quality wines. I came here with my family, which included my partner and 2 young kids. Wineries can be a little boring for kids but there is so much to entertain the younger ones. First, there is a nice store that has a wide range of toys. And on the weekend we visited, there was a live band that completely captivated them. My partner and I decided to do the wine tasting with 8 pours. He went with the white and I selected the reds so we could try all of the pours. The Cabernet Franc was fantastic, which is one of the varietals that flourishes in Virginia. With that said, I think this was one of the best I've had in the region. My partner reluctantly tasted the Pino Grio, a lower grade wine he typically skips. To his surprise, this was his favorite on the menu with its dry profile and smooth finish. Finally, we enjoyed that this spot had a self-guided tour where you can go at your own pace and read about the winery process. Taking any winery tour with kids is such a challenge these days. So this was a great option to tag team and where we could both explore separately while one of us watched the kids. We'll be back!

She acknowledged it was warm - but that was about it. It was nicer outside temp wise - but at this time of the year - the pollen levels are now in the high range - I did not want to sit outside and inhale more pollen. And it's to warm inside. I ordered a tasting flight of 5 ciders. They ciders are served in cool looking test tubes - from a "Lab," - hence the name of the place. My cider flight included (with associated Untappd rankings): Green Apple (4 stars) Blueberry Peach Jerk'm (4 stars) Elderberry Cider (4 stars) Passionate Perry (2.75 stars) Blackberry Jerk'm (1.75 stars) I really enjoyed the first three in the list - the Passionate Perry just did not resonate with my taste buds - and the Blackberry Jerk'm was bordering on a cough syrup taste. I did not drink all of my tasting flight - as it was to warm inside for me - so I really could not enjoy them the way I wanted to. Service was good. Paid with Apple Pay. Hope to come back some day when the AC is working! #CiderLab
