This is my first time going to a paint class. I went with my significant other and we participated in a Couples Painting Class. The instructor was nice and detailed on his direction. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

VIP Paints - Art Classes Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Super fun experience in this cozy painting studio! The instructor (Karen) was extremely helpful, and gave individual pointers to the entire class. It's BYOB and snacks, and they provide the wine glasses. They have a nice variety of paintings they offer on their website calendar. I would definitely do this again! read more

I had a wonderful time at VIP Paints! I took my boyfriend here for a Christmas gift. I got the groupon and two bottles of wine and we were ready to go. Who knew we were so artsy! The teachers were really informative and both created a fun, welcoming and open environment. It was so fun to go downtown with my love and create art! The studio is in a little apartment, but it is cute and creates a close sense of community. We were laughing with everyone around us. Delilah (the owner) came at the end to see how everyone's paintings were! She is so sweet. You will definitely not be disappointed. read more

This may be a biased review since it is on the only paint studio I've ever been to but we had so much fun I must share. After buying a voucher on Living Social, I was the contact person of my group to set the date. The owner Delilah was very helpful in getting my group scheduled even though the people in my group weren't very organized. The studio was nice and clean. The parking was free at the time which is a super bonus but I'm sure once summer comes around there will be parking fees. The group there was an easy going bunch. I felt more like we were hanging out at a friend's house drinking and painting than sitting in a business and feeling awkward. Great job Delilah & Jose! We will definitely be back! read more

If you're looking for a small, intimate spot to relax, drink and get your paint on then this is definitely the place to be. VIP Paints provides everything needed to allow your inner Van Gogh to emerge. The instructors are knowledgeable and hands on with the class and really care that you're relaxed and having a good time. The music played was perfect - a mixture of jazz, neo-soul and R&B. And don't even get me started on the location! The class overlooks the trendy Roosevelt Collection so afterwards you may catch yourself in a shop or two or heading down to the AMC to catch a movie. The location is perfect for date night or for an outing with the girls. I recommend this place to everyone, I've already been twice and I'm looking forward to going again! read more

Took a candle making class here and it was so much fun!! Learned lots (who knew!) and our candles smell fantastic! Carlos was an AMAZING instructor and it was BYOB!! read more

Had an amazing time here! The instructor and other staff members are super nice and the selection of paintings are great.

This place was horrible to work with! It took days to hear back from someone. Save yourself your time and unlimited minutes and go somewhere else! read more

Don't waste your time with this place. If you have any problems they will not be pleasant to deal with...in fact they probably just won't deal with you at all. I bought 2 amazon vouchers so my boyfriend and I could enjoy a class here and it turned out to be a total joke! First we had trouble signing up online and had to call to schedule our class. No one answered at first but they got back to use within a few minutes. Ok no biggie. Then the day of our class I came down with the flu. Obviously I couldn't go and my boyfriend called that afternoon to let them know we wouldn't be there but no one answered. He left a message and based on our previous experience we assumed they would get back to us. They never did. I emailed the business the next week when I was feeling better and got the rudest email back, " I did not receive a call from him or a message at all. You can reschedule but it will be a $20 fee because I didn't receive a call or message." Excuse me?! The class cost 20 in the first place I could just go buy another amazon deal and not even have to call to reschedule. Is that a joke anyway? No one answers your phone! So I replied to this rude email with proof of the phone call to her number with the date and time stamp and everything and she never even bothered to email me back! read more

Also the artist was very nice and funny and she made the event feel as if you were at home I had such a great time with my friend the space was modern and comfy it's a great location. Came here with my sis with a Groupon deal for soy candle making class. I knew the basics about the process beforehand from doing some research since I plan on starting to make some on my own. Being said, thought taking advantage of this class with the deal would help as well. Candle making really does not need much explanation in general, and vs something else like a painting class, there is more down and wait time with candle "making." So if anything, being that many of these classes are BYOB and snacks, this would be a class you would want to bring some snacks while you wait for the wax to cool down and then to dry after pouring. There were plenty of scents to choose from. My sister was really indecisive for a bit. The instructor was super nice and helpful, especially when a couple of the thermometers weren't working. Met a few nice ladies that were also at our table. The price, even with the deal does seem on the pricey side for something like this. But when it comes down to it, I always support art, especially locally. read more

My husband and I attended the birds in Paris class. Nice instructor nice place. Will definitely visit again.

Is this place still in business?? I have been trying to call them for going on a week now. First of all their voicemail is still giving the message that they are moving between March and April, we are in July. I have texted, emailed, and left a voicemail for somebody to call me back about the class on 8-3. I need to know if there are any age restrictions and here it is, 4 days later, I'm still waiting for a response. read more

Had a blast making candles today. Tons of scents to choose from. They have painting too. Plus #Groupon!!! read more

My best friend invited me out for my birthday, for glass painting and I enjoyed it. We were very creative and it was a lot of fun. Also we would like to come back and do it again. read more

Such a fun night! We had a great time. Owner is really friendly. I had a Groupon for 2 people and was able to schedule class a week later. Only 8 people in the class so that allowed for individual attention. The artwork was easy enough that non artists like me could follow along. Really fun date night! There was another couple, a group of 1 guy/2 girls friends and 1 other girl. They made it comfortable and fun for everyone! read more

I've attended two events.... The instructor was very helpful and was able to easily correct my errors... a must have... ;-) good personality and made sure we were all progressing at the same time. I've been to another painting with wine service, they weren't as in tune with everyone's pace. I'm very happy with my master-pieces and will definitely book more events. read more

Took a short vacation to Chicago to visit family and childhood friends. My friends and I wanted to do something different along with having some drinks and so we planned an evening to meet at VIPPaints. We loved it! We were pleasantly surprised at the result of our painting because we had no previous experience except for our high school art projects. It was fun, inspiring, the music was great, the instructor made us feel like we were really artists. The location was great to do a little shopping afterward too. Try it out for a fun, inspiring and inexpensive night out. You won't be disappointed. read more

I also did a Groupon deal for VIP paints. It was an amazing time. I gave it as a gift for three of my friends for Christmas. It was super unique and we were able to bring wine and food to the event. They have a super nice kitchen to set up and store your things. The only reason I did a 4 and not a 5 is we were stuck back in this awkward corner which made it a little difficult to see what was going on the whole time but our paintings still turned out good. I am not much of an artist and you can tell what I was painting! Would recommend to anyone. Very clean and super nice staff. read more

My grandma had booked a party for out family and I wasn't sure what to expect. The instructor showed us the painting my grandma picked out and I was sure that I wasn't gonna be able to do it. The instructor went step by step walking around and helping anyone who needed help. Sure enough i was able to complete my painting and was extremely satisfied with the result and would do it over and over. My family enjoyed out time and being able to see everyone's artistic side while still being original. The instructor never once said we were doing it wrong. He complimented our pieces. I recommend VIP paints to all. read more

I came here with my cousin to have some downtime and relax while making candles (we both love candles). I was not sure of what to expect but the idea was nice. The overall class seemed a little unstructured and I wished there would have been more time to make more than ONE candle. If you have never done this before, I would recommend reading on it before you go. There isn't much instruction given but you come out with something wonderful. read more

Bought a couples class voucher via Living Social - to check them out. Booked in advance, but could not attend due to a family emergency. Called the day before to reschedule, but got no answer. Called again day of and left another message... we finally get a call back an hour after the class started. They said that we had to reschedule 48 hours in advance and just lost out on the voucher. They would not let us reschedule or get our money back. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND VERY RUDE! Beware before booking any services with this fraudulent company. read more
