It was around $35 per person for the paint supplies, and you can buy your own drinks on top of it. A lot of the wine options were only available in bottles, not individual glasses, so I got the spicy margarita. It turned out to be pretty good though. For the paintings, we did a sunset beach theme. This was my first time doing a sip and paint class and I had no idea what to expect. My husband has been wanting to try painting for a while and I thought this would be a good way to get our feet wet and figure out if we'd like to try real painting classes. The event was well organized and the communications were clear. They give you lots of info beforehand about parking, drinks, etc. Definitely come early! Painting starts promptly and you need all the time! The paintings are pretty intricate, which is part of the fun, but it's a lot to cover in 2 hours. I got behind because I wanted to do the painting with slightly different colors and needed to get new colors. It is nice that they give you the option of modifying the painting, if you want! I knew we would be taking our paintings home and I didn't want them to look too similar. I am not an artist and appreciated the step by step instructions. I don't have any skills, but I am kind of a perfectionist, which is a bad combo. I was 1-2 steps behind the entire class! Luckily, there was always an instructor walking around, and they were kind enough to repeat things to me. I spent a lot of time making the water in the painting very pretty... only to realize later that we would be painting over it with black. I kind of wish that was emphasized when we were painting the water, because it would've saved me a lot of time and it would have also saved me the heart - ache of painting over my hard work. In the end, we're very pleased with our paintings and had so much fun! There is a bar, with an extensive cocktail list. You can see the drink menu online. Come early to get a drink because there isn't much/any down time to get a drink in the middle of class. They have cubbies to store your belongings far from the paint and a coat rack in the back. They supply aprons, but definitely don't wear a nice long sleeve too because you'll risk getting paint on it! I would definitely recommend this class and also do it again. It was a fun atmosphere and the instructors are entertaining. Next time, I'll be better prepared, pick and gather my paints ahead of time, and map out where to spend my time (and where not to spend my time) when painting. I think this will make the class a little more relaxing and leave more time for socializing/fun. read more

This was my first time here, we had a blast! My friend is a rewards member (yes they have rewards)! It's a great class for beginner painters or people looking for an activity with friends other than the bar. That being said they do have a bar ;) the instructor Ryan Johnson was fantastic. I attended the "Booze and Brushes" event for Yelp! Elite at Pinot's Pallette -- what a blast! I'd never been to a painting event, but always wanted to. This gave me a chance to do it in a room full of people I knew would be easy to meet and talk to. What I didn't count on was how fun the staff would be, too. Owner Tony and artist Julia were there at the door to greet us all, instructor Jae was charming and funny, and bartender Mark made the perfect Manhattan, with some great conversation thrown in. This is "painting made easy" for those of us who weren't exactly the stars of our visual arts classes, and it was fun to revert back and feel like I was sitting in my freshman high school art class again! I was able to snag a parking spot right out in front, which made the whole evening stress-free, and also checked out additional parking possibilities for my next trip there. Thanks to everyone who made this event possible, including our excellent hostess and Elite goddess, Anna K. I am SUCH A Pinot's Palette fan. I've been here 3 times and am looking forward to returning. I came for the first time for a birthday event, and it was great to have a private room with just our friends and the instructor. The instructor had such a fun vibe, let us play our own music, and even took shots with us. The first time was even more fun because it was a class done with like glow in the dark paint, so we painted in the dark which made it seem like a fun night out. The second time I went to a Valentine's Day event, it was so much fun to split a canvas with my partner, and they made the music and painting geared toward the special night. We have the painting hung up in the room because of how great it turned out (we are anything but artists). The third time around, we had the same experience of great drinks, easy-to-follow instructions, good vibes, and spectacular staff. Cramped. Music was 80's rap on a Valentine's Day drawing night, and what we ended up painting didn't match the picture that was online (what we painted was much darker and more boring imo). I often didn't understand their instructions but didn't feel like I had the time or space to ask for clarification. Also, very overpriced for what it was. PS. Specifically for the owner who replied to my review, the painter wasn't the problem. It was more the general vibe: how close together we all were, the music, the room layout, how different the painting was from the picture. And I just didn't have a good time. read more

I've been to a few sip and paint places, and I can easily say Pinot's Palette is my favorite of the bunch! You can tell they take pride in their ORGANIZATION at Pinot's Palette. There was a place for everything, and everything was in its place. They got us started with tons of paint on our individual plates and had our names written in chalk, but it was easy to grab more of whatever we needed without skipping a beat. The STAFF was the friendliest group of people imaginable. Our main instructor Molly had us laughing, and made us feel like if she can do it, anyone can do it. One of the co-owners complimented my painting even though I know it was far from perfect! Best of all were the circulating staff that helped you through a tricky part in the painting or grabbed an additional drink for you. Pinot's also has a great LAYOUT. At other places they have two parties happening in the same room simultaneously and it's super hard to hear just your instructor. At Pinot's they have one big space that seats around 50 people, and another SEPARATE space that can have a smaller party of about 30. Tip #1: They sell frames for $40 that really make your masterpiece look professional and crisp. If you're looking to frame it, it's way cheaper than Lowe's and Home Goods! I'll start off with the one negative - it's not BYOB. Now that that's out of the way, I had a great experience at Pinot's Palette. Although it's not BYOB, there is a bar located at the venue with cocktail options as well as wine and champagne bottles. We bought a bottle of champagne and were given an ice bucket to take to our seats, and we settled in to gossip and drink before the paint class started. (Doors open 30 minutes before the actual painting begins to allow time for drinks and mingling.) The class itself is great. The instructor was thorough but also encouraged us to deviate from her instructions if we wished to. Great music was played in between steps, so there was a lively vibe the entire class. We never felt rushed, and finished with the instruction about an hour early and were given the rest of the class time to continue to work on our paintings and/or drink and socialize. It's also conveniently next to a restaurant, which makes it easy to grab dinner before class. read more

Absolutely LOVED this experience! My significant other and I did this on a weekend evening and had such a blast painting and having drinks. Our painting teacher was fantastic and hilarious and made all of us feel like budding little artists (even though my painting argued otherwise... lol). Let me make something clear - I have no artistic talent. Sure, I did some drawing as a kid, and I can copy pictures a bit and a few other things. But the whole "I saw a lion in the stone, and I spill chiseled away everything that was not a lion" thing is beyond me. I just don't have the vision, I guess. I'm too literal. So, when I had a chance to go to one of the paint and drink wine events, I was a little skeptical that I'd be able to do anything approaching descent. But, here is where Pinot's comes in. The staff and the owners were amazing! They made painting fun, friendly and un-intimidating. Approachable. Sure, a couple of drinks didn't hurt. But really, it was the staff who were so encouraging and helped me learn. No, I'm not a painter now. The techniques they used were pretty simple, but I learned a lot about building the painting form the back to the front, blending, using tinges of color to enhance the image, etc. But the best thing was just hanging with a bunch of other people doing the same painting, and getting tips, help and encouragement from the staff. This ended up being a really fun time and I would totally do it again! read more

Paint & drink or drink & paint? No matter how you do it, the end result comes out awesome. I had never done one of these Paint & Sips before, but it was so much fun! Come to think of it the last time I ever painted or drew was in High School for my art classes. Anyways, lets do this! Just a 5 minute walk from the Logan Square blue line stop is where you'll find Pinot's Palette. They have a large main room that can handle probably close to 50 peeps and a smaller room in the back that can host a private party or event. Oh yeah, they do have a full bar as well! Beers, wines, cocktails, you name it they got it! The staff here is great. We happened to meet the owners Tamara and Dustin who were walking around and checking up on everyone throughout the paint session. Also a handful of helpers were on deck in case you had any questions, needed more paint, or even another drink. Talk about service! Our instructor Molly was fantastic. Awesome personality and did a good job working the crowd and giving us guidance during the creation of our masterpieces. Overall just a really fun and positive environment! I think my only criticism would be for the instructor to step away a bit more from the painting. I was seated on the far left side so I had a hard time seeing what our instructor Molly was doing. Luckily there was a giant TV monitor with a sample painting of the finish product right next to me, but still would've been nice to see what she had done on her canvas in comparison to mine through each step of the way. All in all I had an excellent time and would definitely recommend to anyone to try it out. Great for large groups, private parties, & date nights would be my suggestions. I was skeptical. If you list my talents artistic would not even appear at the bottom of my list. I am amazed at how well the artist helped me to make a painting that I was proud to show off. I have attended a couple of classes and a private party and have been thrilled each and every time. The skill of the artists more than makes up for my inadequacies in the creative department. Had an absolute blast on a date night here with the husband! We looked at the calendar and selected a painting we both liked, which I definitely recommend doing vs choosing based on convenient days alone. When you walk in the upbeat music and overall vibe says "PARTY"! Everyone is pre-assigned a workstation, and you can request in advance who you'd like to be seated with. They have a full bar with delicious cocktails and a friendly bartender. No food, but they will provide plates, etc if you want to bring some. There's a nice area for catering where some groups had food set up. (Chiya Chai is conveniently right next door and very tasty) The instructor was very friendly and clear. Several people were around to help if you needed help or more supplies or whatever. The instructor goes through each step from mixing colors to which brush to use when to adding details at the end. It's pretty fool proof. You'll have a great time whether have minimal artistic talent (me) or went to art school (my husband). We'll definitely go back and maybe even have our next party here! My ONE tiny issue would be to include a glass of wine with the ticket price. For $38 I thought at least one would be included. So budget an extra $7-10 per drink. read more

I booked my best friends Bachelorette party here. So glad I did! The atmosphere fun and relaxing... Let me start by saying YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE GOOD AT PAINTING OR CREATIVE TO DO THIS! You can paint step by step with the instructor and make a wonderful painting with hints of your own personal tough on it. The step my step instruction makes it simple to follow along or branch off and add your twist. The paint dries majorly fast which I think is a plus. You walk out with a dry piece. Now the fact that you can have wine or a cocktail while painting makes this even more fun. We brought a bunch of snacks and all munched and sipped and painted. They were so kind, they set up some plates and dishes out for us to use. They even made a painting for all the girls could sign for the bride to be. Loved that. The whole crew enjoyed it. This is a GREAT space! Lots of room for a large group of "artists" plus a stage area for the instructor with an XL flat screen so you can easily see what you're supposed to paint. There's also a room in the back for blacklight painting. Plus, there's a great bar area with various liquors, wines & beers. Yessss! Our instructor, Jae, was fantastic and had all the qualities needed to lead, keep our interest and make it fun! Julita, who walked around to provide assistance, was very helpful and encouraging. The owner, Tony, is very personable, friendly, attentive and quite energetic. You can tell he obviously enjoys what he does and takes pride in making his establishment a place for fun and creativity while delivering excellent customer service. I loooooved the music. VERY diverse selection across many different genres. Definitely kept me moving and motivated. I am no artist and my painting definitely reflects that sentiment, but I had a really good time! This is a great activity for everyone of all ages plus Tony and his staff will work with you to celebrate your special event. I've previously gone to Bottle & Bottega, which has nothing on Pinot's Palette! Everyone wore masks, every very small group (2-3 persons) were all socially distanced. The bar tender was over the top friendly & helpful coming around asking if anyone needed refills so no one had to get up. The paint instructor was very engaging, conversational, helpful, & encouraging. Even gave words of praise to all participants. Super patient, he truly enjoys what he does.
