Such a great time! The games are different each time you go so it never gets old! Good drink package as well!

If you're looking for the PERFECT night out in Chicago--stop scrolling, cancel your plans, and RUN (don't walk) to Game Night Out in Lakeview. I had no idea what to expect since it was my first time, but baby... they DELIVERED! Not only was it our friend's birthday celebration, but it turned into one of the most hilarious, creative, and downright FUN nights we've had in the city. Let's start with the true MVP of the evening: ABBY. THE. HOST AND KERRY Listen... Abby didn't just host. She guided our chaotic group like a game show goddess sent from above. She hyped us up, roasted us just enough to keep it spicy, and somehow made everyone feel like the star of the show. I am convinced she has superpowers--energy of a cheerleader, comedy timing of a stand-up comedian, and the organization skills of a professional event planner. If you go, do yourself a favor and REQUEST ABBY. No, seriously. Don't be shy. Ask for her by name. Write it on a sticky note. Tattoo it on your arm. Whatever you gotta do--JUST GET ABBY. Now the games... OH THE GAMES. These weren't your basic "I've done this before" party games. These were clever, custom-built, laugh-until-your-stomach-hurts kind of games. It felt like a mix of Family Feud, Minute to Win It, Jeopardy, and pure unhinged brilliance. * You compete in teams. * You scream, you dance, you attempt to spell words you suddenly forget how to spell. * Your competitive side WILL come out. * You will question your friendships (in the best way). By the end, we were sweating, laughing, and high-fiving like we just won the Super Bowl. Even the birthday person said, "This is the BEST birthday I've had in YEARS," and honestly... facts. The vibe? 10/10. The staff? Elite. The location in Lakeview? Perfect The memories? Core. Locked. In. I cannot stress this enough: Game Night Out is a MUST-DO Chicago experience. Whether it's birthdays, team events, date night, friends' night, or you just feel like being competitive for no reason--THIS IS THE PLACE. And remember... ASK FOR ABBY and KERRY!! She's basically Lakeview royalty at this point. read more

Had oodles of fun! I don't like the trivia portion though because it can be awkward, especially since all the employees are White.

Very fun and engaging! Great energy from start to finish. The host made the game easy to understand and really kept everyone involved. Such a fun experience! read more

It was so much fun! Sarah and Lauren were great hosts for our company retreat! Would come back again in a heartbeat.

For the second year in a row, I've booked Game Night Out for my team's end-of-year activity. And for the second year, I'm so happy that I did! I can now say that GNO is consistently a great company to work with. Booking was a breeze, and they handled all the tech of bringing us on Zoom, breaking us into different Zoom rooms and using interactive game elements. And the games! Since this was our second time, they had all new games for us to play that were engaging, challenging in the best way and kept the fun going. So if you've already worked with them, don't worry that you can't do it again. Our hosts, Collin and Annelise, kept spirits high, everything on schedule and the games tabulated and rolling. So happy GNO still host virtual games, and if I'm ever in Chicago, I'd love to do one of their in-person game nights as well. read more

2nd year in a row the YELP OCA team had the pleasure of Game Night Out for our end of year team activity! So much freaking fun. And on top of all that, we were fortunate enough to have the same two hosts, Collin and Annelise. Honored that we had Annelise as a host for her very last event. My team, Slay All Day, sadly didn't win. But no complaints here. All the laughs, good energy, and creative games. It was a non-stop blast. read more

Our work team had a virtual game night out to celebrate the end of the year, and boy was it fun!! We played 5 different games on zoom and were broken up into teams. Even though my team, the Jingle Ballers, sadly came in 2nd by 1 point... we still had so much fun! Our hosts Anneliese and Collin were fun and led the various games with energy! It was such a fun night with our team. While they did mention they are stopping their virtual option, I'm sure their in-person offerings are just as fun! I would definitely recommend this for any work team or group of friends that love some competitive game play! read more

Guess who's back? Back again? The WINNERS are back. Tell your friends! That's right... my work team decided last year was just too much fun that we had to do our end of the year virtual party with Game Night Out again! And... it was such a BLAST, yet again! We were broken up into teams and put into game rooms where our hosts Collin and Annelise took us through a series of games and matches. They were hilariously witty, captivating, upbeat and fair game masters. We played entirely new games from last year! So kudos to Game Night Out for having lots of clever engaging games up their sleeves. (emoji claps) Again... I'd highly recommend this for a remote team building activity as you'll definitely share smiles and lots of lols via your reliable Wi-Fi connection. ;D read more

We had so much fun! Dying of laughter. Can't stop talking about it! Perfect for a team bonding event.

Fantastic experience! Our hosts were so amazing and had great energy. The games were so fun!

BOOK THIS EXPERIENCE! We had so much fun with our group of 8! Food/Drink: You can bring your own food but I would recommend eating before hand or bringing more snack foods as opposed to a whole dinner. You can order pre-made cocktails here, wine bottles, or beer cans. You have to finish all your alcohol and cannot take any leftovers home. When you arrive you get checked in and brought to a room which looks like someone's home (which I loved!). We had time to order our drinks, say hello to each other, and use the restrooms before the games started. We played a total of six games which were all fun and a good mix of old school board games with newer games you probably have not played. We were split into two teams and it fulfilled my competitive soul. A HUGE shoutout to Ben and Rio for being amazingly funny hosts who just went with the flow and our vibes! Our group can be chatty and hard to handle sometimes and they did such a great job keeping us paying attention and moving through the games seamlessly. Parking: there's parking available in the parking garage (game night is on the fourth floor of the century building) or street parking that's easy to find. read more

"Board games can be educational. Many board games are designed to enhance cognitive abilities, improve mathematical skills, and foster social interaction among players." ― Facts.net Who would have thought that in adulthood, trivia and board games would be the thing. At most social gatherings, there's always a game or two lying around to get everyone mingling and I love it. This does not stop at the workplace. If you're reading this, you should know my company and if you know anything about the company I'm at, you know they throw a good party! ;D Our year-end team activity was virtual and hosted by the amazing people of Game Night Out. 1.5 hours flew by in the blink of an eye. The hosts, Collin and Annelise, were amazing and the games were fun and engaging. Annelise even created the hot potato game and how fun is that!? Game Night Out is highly recommended whether you want an in-person event or virtual. Five-stars! read more

Game Night Out - Can you spy your city's OCA? - Team Building Activities Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Such a fun and unique place to host a birthday party in Chicago! Recently went to game night out to celebrate my friend's 25th birthday. I was really really excited when she planned her birthday here, because I actually wanted to host my birthday there, but there was no availability on my selected date. The staff was really nice and thankfully patient as majority of the group was late. When we finally started playing the games, I appreciated that the staff hit the ground running so that we could make the most of our time. They explained the rules and goals of each game very clearly, and I loved that each game had all team members engaged the entire time. I love a good competition, so my competitive side was definitely shown throughout the night. There is plenty of space to serve food and drinks, along with lots of space to mix and mingle before and after the games. For the games that we played, there were some that are game night classics such as heads up, but then there were other games that I had never played in my life before! It was also really cool that some of the games were focused on the birthday girl, and Putting the teams against each other to see who knew her best. I loved my game night out experience, and I wish that there were more of these across the country. I will definitely look into hosting my future birthday parties at game night out. read more

Having spent a better part of the last few years engaging with virtual events, I've seen my fair share of the good, bad, and ugly (#1). Online experiences are always challenging, especially with the screen fatigue and difficulty to focus. All of that went out the window with Game Night Out, which was by far one of the best experiences I've had on a virtual platform and was a fun, bonding experience that I will always remember fondly. The process of setting up with them was a cinch. They were organized and quick to respond and the rate for a virtual session was $299 for 90 minutes. Our team received an email breaking it all down with proper links to boot. Since they're based out of Chicago, we had to go strictly with a virtual format, which I was initially hesitant to do. Once it came down to gametime, it was a blast and time flew. The incredibly witty hosts did a wonderful job in managing the flow and transition from game to game and did a great job of bantering with all the participants. There were fill in the word games, team challenges, fun visuals, with expert execution the whole way. I was so impressed that I wouldn't hesitate a second to utilizing their services another time. If I was in Chicago proper, I'd consider doing the live, in-person version of these games, but the virtual one was just so inclusive. Their fabulous organization and execution makes me want to do it all over again. __________ (#1) Technical difficulties much? read more

THEE trivia and more night I needed with the bestest co-workers a person could ask for! Our boss arranged a wonderful 2023 going into 2024 virtual experience with game masters Annelise and Collin. We broke out into classic breakout rooms via zoom fashion #2020sRealness and had so much fun! I truly forgot how competitive I can get and had to reign it in lol. We split up into four teams of mostly 4 and selected fun team names. Music trivia is/was definitely my jam and probably my favorite category. Being a lover of all genres from 80s to Country to RnB to Alt Rock and Synth... Put me in coach, I got this hahaha.... We got so close in the last round!! And the way everything just flowed, including all the fun and laughs.. Was the best part of all. Pictionary-esque, true or false, multiple choice... The options are endless with Game Night Out and all you have to do is enjoy the experience. I can't believe how fast 90 minutes went by, I almost didn't want the fun to end. Grateful for Emily H. (who crushed it at a lot of games) for working her magic with GNO and my team for the night (Hannah, Ida and Nico) as well as our teammates #OCAsMakingWaves Definitely recommend for group fun whether for work, family or friends! Bonding on the next level, with games and you don't even have to leave the house... What more could you want? Virtual and In-Person experiences offered! Next time/first time I'm in Chicago... I'll definitely stop in for some fun! read more

Collin and Annelise are fabulous at keeping the energy and engagement! My lovely Yelp OCA Team just had a rambunctious game night run by Game Night Out and it was all sorts of fun. Sure, my team came in last place, as seems to always be the case when I do trivia nights (womp, womp) but it's about the journey not the destination, right?! Everything went really smooth, was well organized, kept flowing and most of the games made complete sense. We did our whole session online via Zoom and had no issues at all. I think the fact that everything just went so seamlessly is a testament to how well versed they are in facilitating these activities. And the hosts energy was on 10, they were ready to quip and make remarks at the drop of a hat. Great for team building and most importantly makes for a FUN night! read more

Came for a bachelor party on 10/6/25 with a group of 10. Had an absolute blast! Abby and Chris were terrific hosts! Parking garage was a breeze. Clean and organized. Very clear instructions and examples were given on how to play each game. Wine and beer package was also very nice. I just really really liked the whole experience! But again, extra big shout out to Abby and Chris!!! They really were so fun and quick with a joke. read more

What a cool way to do team bonding! I visited with my work department and this was such a fun way to see each other play to our strengths, get competitive, and of course laugh a lot. The location is a bit hidden in an old shopping center/mall type of space, but very cool inside. They have it designed as a living room/kitchen on either side of the hallway, and ask that you bring in your own snacks for the activity time. It starts off with some time to eat and mingle, leaving what's to come a bit of a mystery. We had 2 hosts walk us through all of the games, who were very good at their jobs and keeping us busy and entertained. read more

I was in Chicago for a work event and Game Night Out was our evening event. It's a great use of space in a mall - the rooms are very comfortable. Looking for a fun night, where you host, but have no clean up responsibilities after? This is a great spot! Rent the room, invite your guests, bring food and drinks and leave the rest up to the team! We had so much fun, each game was delightful The hosts gave us plenty of time to get settled before starting game play. All game instructions were clear and we had a blast! The final game was beyond hilarious and was explosively fun! The kitchen had plenty of fridge space, plastic warehouse, napkins and plastic wine glasses. Everything was well sanitized and the space was just right for our group of 24. Bathrooms are just a small adventure away from the room. We were celebrating some 40th birthdays and so was the room across the hall. Thank you Karrie and Meg for gut-busting, cheek hurting smiling fun! Pro tip, this is on what we'd call floor 2.5 ‐ don't take the second escalator, walk up from the top of the escalator. read more

I went to a corporate team building event here and it was a good time. The setup feels like a living room at someone's house... except there are hosts explaining the games, keeping score, playing music, and making sure everything moves along. Everyone on the team was really engaged and seemed to be having a lot of fun while we were here. No one even checked their email during the two hour game night! This is an excellent place to host any corporate event. However if I were hosting friends or family for a personal event, I would just host a game night at my house instead. There's really no reason to have professional hosts explaining rules to friends and family... plus at your own house you don't have to order drinks in 6 packs, and you won't get a reminder that it's 8:29 and your reservation ends in 1 minute. read more

If there were 10 stars, I'd give them. First and foremost our hosts Brian and Gary were amazing. I was expecting the hosts to just keep everyone on track and introduce the games. They were half the entertainment. Truly felt like a little improv show. The space was great. Very large, had the living room area with plenty seating, the kitchen area with a nice island and plenty of counter space, and a large refrigerator. Everything was super clean, and well maintained. Already thinking what other groups of friends/family would enjoy so I can go back! read more

What an amazing place to enjoy friends and have fun like you use to have when you were teens.

I am one of the least social people I know, and I had a blast doing game night with a room full of strangers. It was a friend's birthday, but I didn't know her group of friends. The hosts were great, though. They were really good at working the room and making sure everyone was involved and having a good time. The room was clean and spacious and was perfect for our group of 11. We brought drinks. The only tip I have on that end is that it might be easier to handle a can or bottle than a cup while you're playing games. It can get physical-ish. read more

This was a FANTASTIC excursion! Of course, it was made better by the fact that this was a corporate outing, so I didn't pay, but even so, I'm considering it for a family event and/or birthday party. I think it's $65 a head and you can bring your own food and drink. It's just wholesome and engaging fun. The staff does a really great job explaining all of the different games. It was great. Go. Do. Play. You'll be glad you did! read more

I manage a team of people, and as you can imagine, they barely tolerate my presence. Every time I ask them to spend one more second looking at my stupid face via Zoom during this interminable pandemic, I can see how they die a little inside. And who can blame them? When I asked them to block off some time to get together and hang out, I knew they were dreading the entire experience. However, Game Night Out did the impossible. Not only did everyone show up, but they also had fun! Everyone participated and laughed and competed and even pretended to enjoy my company. It was a glorious hour and a half, and Brian and Meg from GNO were lovely people deserving of the tips we sent them afterward. Highly recommended. Now of course everyone is back to dreading my company, but Game Night Out is just a game night facilitator, they're not miracle workers. read more

This place was highly rated so we decided to try it out for a birthday celebration. We brought alcohol and snacks which the hosts gracious helped us set up in the kitchenette and put drinks in the fridge. Unfortunately, due to Covid you can't eat or drink outside of the kitchenette and must sign a waive and wear a mask to play. Our hosts were Alex and Sean, both very funny and energetic game hosts. We had a few late guests which shortened our game play but still allowed us to play each of the games. I think the experience was overall very fun and entertaining but I gave it 4 stars because it was very expensive to do with a group of friends. I think this is more geared toward a coworker event. Most of the games we played were games like catchphrase or Pictionary where you have to draw or describe something and your team has to guess. Which I feel like is something you could facilitate at your own game night at home. They of course had some fun twists and props, but in general it's probably better suited for either a very large group or a coworkers event. We had 7 people and it ended up being over $100 per person for 2hrs (really 1.5hrs with how late we started plus breaks) read more

If you want a night out without leaving your couch...Virtual game night with your favorite 11 friends with Game Night Out. Our friends invited to join us for an 1.5 hour game night on a Friday night. It was 6 couples (12 people max) and we were divided into teams for an epic game night battle. I won't give away the games, but they were fun. The host was fun, funny and made the games go quick without any awkward Zoom silences. I saw on their website that it's about $200 for the 1.5 hour session, and they do ask for gratuity for the host (not required). There's not a ton of interaction with your friends before, during or after the session, per se, as they end the Zoom session at that hour and a half, but afterwards we all jumped on our own Zoom and had some fun and connected. Overall, I'm sure it depends on your host, but seemingly they are all funny and know what they're doing as this seems to be a popular endeavor. You pick times via their website, as well. This is a Chicago based company, so for the west coast, the latest start time was 730pm PST. I wonder if they change up the games? Regardless, I'd recommend 100% to find some friends you've been missing and do this stat! read more
