I searched for window tinting services in Pasadena and VIP Auto was the first to come up. Like most yelpers do, I read the reviews before even making a call to get a quote. All the reviews seemed favorable so I gave them a call and spoke with the shop manager, Jae D. He was very professional and recommended that I come by for a quote. The price he gave me was more than others I received ($35 more to be exact) but he could accommodate me that day and I wouldn't have to drive as far as to where I received other quotes. I decided to go with them even though their price was a bit higher than others. The entire process from start to finish was approximately 1 1/2 hours. The tint looks great (it's only been one day and I've yet to put the windows down.) My only "complaint" would be that whatever liquid they use to adhere the tint left water spots on the body of the car which I was told it would come off once it was washed but I took my car there without water spots and felt like for the price I paid it would have been part of the service for them to remove the spots. At any rate, I would still recommend their services. read more

This review is for two separate vehicles on one ticket. Sale was @ 9am friday 5/16/2014. First vehicle was a 2004 nissan Altima, one window needed to be retinted after a vandal broke it. The VIP tint applied in 2008 is now unavailable and all the windows done previously are turning to purple, so I signed off as per my friends desires, all windows redone. They completed the job @11 am, very nice job! Now my car is a problem, I knew it would be, and is why I brought it in.it is a 1993 Volvo 240 wagon with 22 year old tint. The tint was falling apart as they removed it, you could not just hit it with a heat gun, pick up a corner and peal. I knew this might be a problem before I took it in. It is an old car. I asked for legal 4 inch windshield tint and received 5 to six inch tint that curves down at the edges instead of straight accross. I brought it to the managers attention, he said It would be ok? I hate it. Earlier very friendly, now wanting us gone? Needed to get going, did not argue in front of my ladyfriend. The rear tint was executed very well, but they seemed to be rushing as pieces of old tint, seats not put back, and my metro fastpass transponder were removed and not put back. The drivers side rear door window had an issue with the stop setting and track guide when I brought it in, but neither window channel was damaged when I brought it in, I know that, did not argue the point that now both upper horizontal window channels are messed up??? I accepted the price they quoted, I did not dicker, we were as fair as we could be, it was a hot day and they worked hard on the car. My friend is happy with her 2004 altima tint. Thank you for my friend and thank you for for what you did on my Volvo 240. I will be back to have them finish the job and correct the winshield tint when I am off the month of July. I will re-evaluate my review then. The Volvo 240 wagon was probably the most tinted car of the 70's,80's, and early 90's. Tint applied on both cars was Color Stable 3m .05%. Thank you Robert C, as I said I will be back in July, I am off the month. It is hard for me to get the day off as we had together on Friday, we did get 80 % accomplished, better than most days off. read more

I brought my new Toyota Tacoma in last week to get the wheels powder coated and brake calipers as well. I had a specific color in mind for both. Robert met me out front as I brought in my Truck and its like he shared my vision. He assured me that they treat every car they work on as their own and it truly shows in their work. Well i ended up getting a clear bra on my car and finally found this place. I previously went to a place in Burbank called megaplex where i got an outrageous quote of 1750$ to take off and put a new clear bra on my car. Later that day i drove by this place advertising the 3m clear bra and pulled up. They gave me a quote of 650 to take off and replace with a new one and it has a 5 year warranty. I couldn't have asked for a better place to pass that day. They ended up taking my car in the next day and got it done asap. I literally saved over a 1000$ coming to this place. Remarkable service. Got the job done quick and easy within a total of one hour. I had been looking around for so many places to tint my windows. I was originally thinking of going to Pro Tint on Rosemead, but they were all booked for the day. I did not want to wait to make an appointment a week later. So I decided to try VIP Auto Customs through a friend's referral. I called Robert at around 4pm (2 hours before their closing time) and asked if I could come in. He gave me quotes for several different types of films and told me he can slip me in as the last customer and get it done that day within an hour. I drove over there and right when I walked in at 4:30, he got his guys prepping my windows and prepping my car while I clarified which film I wanted. He gave me a good offer and reasonable prices (pretty competitive compared to other shops). For under 300 I got 3M Color Stable all around, and the job was perfect. I'm still waiting for the film to dry and cure, but everything seems neat and clean. Very minimal air bubbles (they should go away in a day or two as the film cures). My windows are dark and block out heat so well I barely even have to turn on my AC anymore. It took his guys only 40 minutes to finish everything and I was out the door by 5:30. If you need you windows tinted quickly and professionally, come to VIP Auto Customs and you won't be disappointed. The service came with lifetime warranty. There is a couch where you can watch TV if you want something to do while waiting. Robert knows how to satisfy his customers and his guys know how to do a good job quickly and smoothly. I had a fantastic experience having my car tinted six months ago by VIP, best $ I spent ever, cools off my car so the kids (rearing facing in car seat) didn't get beat down by the sun. I called them just this morning six months later to ask about tinting a window at my house. It's such a small job but Robert the manager was so nice and professional, don't mind it such as a small job at all. He asked me for the measurement of my window, told me he's check inventory and call me back in 15 mins. Sure enough he called me back in 15 mins, and lucky for me, he has the materials. He said he'd come over between 9:45 and 10 am to look over and give me a quote, sure enough, he's by with his worker before 10 am! He explained to me my options, I picked the film, gave me a really reasonable price, and finished the job in less than an hour. They are professional, on time, do as promised, I really can't ask for more for a local business. My room is instantly so much cooler, will help my energy bill for years to come. Not so great experience. Brought my new car in to have the windows tinted, took alot longer then my other vehicles. The tint job wasn't even done properly. It was cut at an angle, causing me to have it redone. They left a liquid substance all over both door panels of my brand new car. 4 days later I went to have some emblems on my car painted black aswell as having my rims powder coated black. It hasn't even been two weeks and the black paint is already coming off my emblems. My wheels were not put back on properly, which I then brought my car to a tire and wheel place to have them properly balanced. I was told it would be finished one day, and it wasn't done until the end of the following business day. Over all it was a poor experience, fairly simple tasks could not properly be done, I would personally not bring my car back to them nor would I advise anybody to go there. This business talks more about their experience/reputation more then they act on it. Talk is different then actually doing. read more
