I cancelled my appointment with another place due to reviews from here and from the convenience of them coming to my office. When the appointment time came, no one showed up. I called the number, got Brian on the phone. Said oh yeah, I was going to call but didn't have your number... ok, possible but unlikely since it is his cell phone and numbers get stored. Said he is running late... we rescheduled for same day at 3PM. At 4:30, I get a call that they are not able to make it... no kidding, you were already an hour and a half late. Ruined my entire day, had to cancel my appointment with the dealer, etc. Just REALLY annoying that you cannot keep an appointment. I previously left a great review for Brian on 8/26/15 because I was happy with his work (back then) for my M3 and M5. I also left a generic positive review for him on 8/9/19 because he asked me to do so. So why did I turn the 8/9/19 review into a one-star follow-up review? In the past, Brian was a one-man show and I did not have any problems with his service. In 2014, he installed protective film on the front bumper, 1/3 of the hood and stock mirrors on my 1998 M3 with 58k miles on the odometer. I gradually turned my M3 into a show car and in 2015, Brian was called back to install protection film on the car's new front bumper, nose panel, and fog lights. Since the car was not going to be driven much, I did not install clear bra on the new headlights or new custom mirrors, which were also painted in installed in 2015 with the new front bumper. So far, no issues. A few years later, my M3 with only 62k miles on the odometer is now a full-blown show car that has won awards in car shows and featured in automotive magazines. In August 2019, I hired Brian to remove the old protection film on 1/3 of the hood and install a full hood clear bra on my M3. He quoted me $450.00 for the full hood and headlights. This time around he showed up with his purported wife, who was unhappy with the quoted price because she thought Brian should have charged an additional $100 for the headlights. Anyway, Brian did an okay job for the hood's film, which was cut on the car and not wrapped around the edges of the hood. Before they left, his wife indicated that they could also put protection film on my front carbon fiber spoiler for $150 and the mirrors for $100. The quoted price was high (much more than what Brian was charging before) but given the previous course of dealing I've had with Brian, I called him back a week later to have my front carbon fiber spoiler and mirrors done; and paid for the service anyway. I did ask Brian to throw in a free film for my fog lights without realizing that Brian had already put film on the fog lights in 2015. Brian asked for a positive Yelp review in return. I wasn't there to watch what happened so I won't comment whether the film on the fog lights was actually replaced or not. After Brian left, the clear bra on the mirrors immediately became delaminated within a couple of days. The car was parked in the garage and not moved at all. To Brian's credit, he did return with his wife and re-install another set of clear bra on the mirrors for free. But again, the film immediately delaminated in less than one day and came apart. Worst of all, there are cuts and scratches all over the paint caused by razor blade. Brian would not issue a $100 refund for the mirrors or pay for the paint damages. He provided the following remedies for me: 1. "You talk to Jason at Aerotech." ----- I have no idea what Aerotech does and who Jason is. Brian later explained Aerotech is the film supplier and said he would give me Jason's contact information but failed to do so despite my request. 2. "Your car is a 20-year-old car so there will be scratches." ----- Irrelevant since it's an expensive show car and the mirrors were freshly painted and installed in 2015. Cars, old or new, do not have cuts caused by razor blades. 3. "Your mirrors are too curvy." ----- I don't think this is a valid reason to blame the customer since you solicited the business and provided the service. 4. "We tried to do this twice to take care of you and we can't do anymore." ----- Yes you can. Refund the $100 that I am owed because that's the least (or MINIMUM) you can do for failing to provide the service you were paid. IMHO you should also be liable for all repair cost for damages you've caused. 5. "The mirrors must be Ceramic coated." ----- No they're not. Neither is the rest of the car. 6. "I talked to Jason and confirmed that the film is good. So it must be your car's problem because we never had this issue before." ----- Not having this issue before is not an excuse for not addressing the problem you've caused just now. 7. "Thank you for your understanding." ----- You're welcome. But it still won't stop me from stating the facts on Yelp. Thank you too, for your understanding. 8. The profane and verbally-abusive language in the follow-up phone call threatening to sue me because of this Yelp review is the final nail in the coffin. As for the multiple razor cuts on the mirrors? There is no doubt that I will have to absorb the cost of repairing them. What's hysterical is that there are probably numerous other cuts on my car that I won't see unless I remove the protection film altogether. Why didn't I pay attention to the cuts in the past? It's obviously my oversight since I have a light-colored car. I won't speculate the extent of damages now so I can make myself feel better. read more

I was recently in an accident that broke my passenger side window but the insurance company only replaced the window itself and not the tint. Called up Quality Tint and Brian assured me he could do just the one window and try to match it. However, their prices were so good and their tint product so much better that I decided to do both sides. The material they use seems to block a lot more heat from the sun at the same 35% darkness that I had before, which is a nice bonus and should keep the car cooler and interior in good shape. I had an appointment with Brian for a tint installation for 1pm, on the day of the appointment he leaves a voicemail stating that someone had cancelled and he wasn't sure who it was?! Since I was working I didn't see his call until leaving to head back for my appointment. The call was at 11:30 or so in the morning, I called and texted him at 12:30 confirming our appointment. No reply and wouldn't answer the phone thereafter. As an entrepreneur myself, first rule of business is don't make your problems the customers problem and own your mistakes to show your integrity. This guy never called or texted me again. Yes, he had another client cancel but do your due diligence and cross check WHO Cancelled. I'm quite sure that whoever cancelled left a name or at minimum verify the number associated with the call. If he was GENUINELY confused he would have tried calling again or texting to ensure he honored his commitment. Poor customer service and doesn't value customer relations or time of others. Update: Brian I don't appreciate your blatant lie! You left a voicemail which I still have that clearly stated " someone cancelled and you were unsure who it was." It's disgusting that you find the need to lie and shift blame to a potential client. Just because you call ONCE, you still had no reason to believe I was the one who cancelled! Furthermore clients have other things going in their day than waiting for the phone to ring, if you did not receive a call or text specifically from me stating that "I" wanted to cancel our appointment you should not have made assumptions. I replied to your voicemail as I was leaving work EARLY to ensure I was home for your arrival, I left a message and texts, no response... I called you FIVE times up until 1:30 no answer. To put things into perspective, I once had a tint shop mistakenly shatter the driver side window of my two week old BMW, and I still would have preferred that situation over my experience with this shop. I made an appointment and confirmed the time of arrival in the morning. The next morning I send a follow-up message asking whether Brian was on his way. It was about 30 minutes past the appointment time and I get a response ten minutes later that another appointment finished late and mine would have to be pushed back to 1pm. Mind you, my appointment was scheduled for 9am, so I'm not sure I buy the story that he scheduled an earlier client, seeing as how tint jobs take two hours and you need to account for traffic in LA between clients. Does this guy start work at 6am? Anyway, Brian and his colleague show up at one and get to work. Tint jobs usually take two hours, but I was tinting an i3 which has several little windows. Despite that I thought the job went on too long. By the time they were finishing, the sun was going down. It took 3.5 hours. Everything looked good until after I was able to roll down my windows and noticed a crinkling noise when I did this. Upon further inspection it seems the tint at one corner did not adhere properly and was lifting against the rubber seal. I texted Brian again and he said he would come by to fix it the next day. The next day he shows up and gets to work replacing the film on the window. Once he's done I take a look and everything appears to be fine until the following day when the tint starts bubbling up. I also noticed that they used a razor to cut away some of the rubber seal around the window and did a pretty bad job of it where it looks gouged and just not clean at all. I don't think it was necessary to do. I'm disappointed at this point but figure Brian can take care of it, so I ask him back to fix it again. Brian says he'll fix the bubbling and that the window seal trimming was necessary, but then it doesn't explain why the other door has no trimming. It was the week of Thanksgiving so I asked him to put me on the schedule for next week any day. The following week comes and I hear nothing from Brian. Finally I send him a message saying that I'm flexible this week whenever he can fit me in, and he responds "ok thanks." Two days later and no word, so I message again and get a response that he can fit me in the following week. I said that's not possible, as my wife who was on leave will start working again and will need the car. If Monday is his only day available then it has to be first thing Monday morning. He agrees to stop by at 8am. Monday morning comes by and I get a text at 7:30am saying that he has to resupply his tint and if we can push back the appointment to 1 or 2pm. Of course that won't work, I made it really clear in my last message that it had to be first thing Monday morning and why, so I'm not sure why the question about rescheduling to a later time. He tried to get me to agree to a different day on the weekend. I let him know my wife works Saturdays and needs the car, and Sundays are our only full day together, I wasn't about to spend it waiting for the tint guy to maybe show up on time and get the job done. So at this point I would be going elsewhere. Of course I was upset by this point. If I was clear on needing the work done at a certain time on Monday morning, you resupply on Sunday night. This kind of thing just screams a lack of attention and sloppy business. You ran out of supplies? Ok, don't make that my problem! Brian obviously didn't value my time enough to be ready during our first appointment or our last. I took the car somewhere else to be retinted and sent an image of the invoice for the single window tint removal and replacement to Brian asking for a refund in that amount, $49. Brian agreed. Never got my refund and had to file a charge back with my credit card company. He must have tried contesting it because weeks after my card company sided with me, I was rebilled by Square for the $49. Seriously? Talk about failure. Some small business owners understand how to turn a bad situation into a learning opportunity and a way to earn good will with a customer. Brian is simply just not professional enough to understand the concept of good service. Had he tried to make this right, at worst I would have chalked it up to bad luck and left no review on Yelp, or written how a bad situation was remedied by a good faith effort to maintain customer satisfaction.
