This is my first time doing a review on a place, and i knew from the times i went they deserved 5 stars. I wanted to see the 1 star reviews to see why they would review that and i saw people saying the staff were rude, however that couldn't be farther from the truth! Each time i went they greeted me with hospitality and were genuinely so nice to me. They are one of the nicest people out here. One time I got a long sleeved tailored here they charged me a good price. i asked AI if what i was hopping for is possible (to lengthen the hem) and it said most likely not possible. But when i went here and asked them of course they could do it! these are experienced people knowing what they are doing, and if i ever need help with something this will be the only place ill go! read more

I truly had the best experience here with Alberto and his wife. My wedding dress came out better than I ever could have imagined and I am so incredibly thankful for them! Alberto is truly a master at what he does and that was very apparent by my first impression with him. The staff here is incredibly friendly and welcoming! I was immediately greeted with a smile and offered water while trying on my dress. They also took extra time to make sure it was comfortable and good to walk in, which I really appreciated. I have a very special wedding to attend next month and they asked the guests to wear spring colors. Being that I only owned a black suit I needed something else, so I found an inexpensive linen suit on Amazon. It needed some tailoring of course so I searched and found Alberto on Yelp. Brought the suit in last week. He took a few quick measurements and that was it. Picked up the suit today and it looks fantastic. It looks as though it could've cost hundreds of dollars. Everybody there was friendly and cordial, they were quite efficient and they did a great job at a reasonable price. You can't ask for more than that. Alberto told me that he could also tailor the sleeves of some short sleeve shirts I own after I explained they were too big. I will definitely be using them again. Thanks VIP! read more

Alberto did a fantastic job on a few pairs of tech fabric pants I brought in. He was extremely knowledgeable about how to go about making the alterations so that they would look as best as possible. The job he did was as good as it gets and I frequently have my clothes tailored for the profession I'm in so I'm pretty well-versed on good vs poor work. With regard to pricing, they are extremely reasonable compared to other tailors I've dealt with. I would HIGHLY recommend stopping by for your tailoring needs. At my first fitting he talked me through every alteration he was thinking to make sure we were both on the same page and have the same vision. He is meticulous and so professional. His wife, Martha, is also incredibly sweet and was a great second opinion to have. At each of my appointments there were other people there getting all types of alterations (pants, blouses, suits, etc.) and they both gave the same level of care to those as they did to my wedding dress. I've been searching for a good tailor for a long time. They are so hard to find nowadays. I used to drive all the way out to Santa Monica but my longtime tailor retired. Luckily I found VIP in my own backyard. I was ready to drive into LA but Jaime and his uncle Alberto really impressed me. They fixed two of my suits and a shirt and Jaime pointed out things I didn't even know were wrong. Now I can't unsee those same flaws I didn't even notice before. He A) changed the drop straps to regular straps for me, B) added a bustle, C) hemmed the many many skirts of the dress, and D) was able to reconstruct the bodice to fit my chest after I lost 10 pounds in the bust leading up to the wedding. I would like to start off by apologizing for stressing this family out and also thanking them. I brought my dress in 4 days before my wedding date. I dropped it off Monday and I got it back Wednesday. Unfortunately, a close family member is terminally ill and we wanted them to see us get married so we planned the wedding so fast. I am also far from a girly girl and never wear dresses since I am so skinny and flat. I had never felt great in a dress. They altered my dress that I bought off the rack at a bridal show that had cup sizes 3x my size. They made my dress fit like a glove. Like it looked amazing!!! They altered my dress in not only a shirt amount of time, they made me feel at home! My husband spoke a little Spanish and he loved how they would speak Spanglish to us and showed him what to do since we were so short in time. They even explained to my mom what to do and let us all be part of the experience. To the Karen reviewer on here: I really think it's sad and immature for you to target a small family business just because it "ruined" your experience. Clearly you don't know customer service nor have ever worked in the industry. Degrees may not matter to you but clearly this man worked hard for those and has the right to show them off. His family was so sweet and if the stress of wedding planning is getting to you, maybe slow it down? To everyone else: I never use Yelp since I think all the writers are complainers, but I had to write a genuine review. The Karen review really bothered me and I am sure you can tell from the positive reviews that his works speaks for itself. They are the nicest family and are dog people (If you know, then you know). They made a dress that fit me everywhere and I have never had that before. They worked so fast and squeezed me in. What an excellent experience! They have customer service nailed here. They really do make you feel like an MVP. Brought in two top notch suits that I needed to make fairly dramatic changes to (convert a 44L jacket to more of a 44R length), I also wanted the sleeves to be shortened at the shoulders rather than the cuffs. The tailoring and reconstruction work is perfect! It took a couple of weeks (I was in no rush at all) and it probably cost me about the amount of an off the rack suit, but the quality is out of this world.
