We have purchased a piano, 2 guitars, and a ukelele from this store…read more My uke and guitar were both having issues with loose cable.jack / strap mounts. I needed one tightened and the other rescued from inside and fitted in place. It was late evening. We went to the counter and received some help. We were told that the technician was gone for the day. It required a specialized tool to fix it. We should come back when the tech is in. We thought they would have been more solution oriented as we told them we are return customers. The fact it happened to two instruments was brought up. I thought they would take some accountability. Long story short I went home disappointed. I ordered a bit of hardware to secure the jacks. I watched some videos. I then fished some dental floss through and snagged the interior piece and pulled it through the hole. I adjusted the inside nut, pulled it through and fixed then. There werent any apologies that it happened on two instruments. It was simply - yeah that happens. Bring it back when the tech is in and be can fix them. No offer of a free fix. It just didn't feel like customer service.

Minda also teaches lessons, so I signed right up. Great experience. She's patient, willing to explain things to my engineering brain, and brilliant. More, when it came time to change a string, Minda gave me a lesson. She even let me change a few strings on a harp she was working on. Telling me how to do it, showing me how to do it, then letting me do it but talking me through each step. Finally, doing it on my own but with her watching. Great way of learning. I was able to go home and confidently change the string myself. Five of five stars. And an extra star because she's just so darn nice about it.

Update (2024): This company is still impacting my credit. After explaining to them that I never signed a contact and was going to cancel lessons, they deferred me to a collection agency. I would stay away from this company and their questionable business practices. Revised: I almost never leave negative reviews. Be careful before signing anything (underlined) as they use legally binding, multi year contracts. My wife signed it unknowingly, and our (both) credit is still recovering. When I raised the issue, the store manager hid behind "policy" and offered no real solution--only a token one-month refund after months of no service. So funny. Paying for private lessons and getting nothing is unacceptable. Very disappointing customer service. This is not how a reputable business should treat customers. Ironically, I discovered these charges because I wanted to keep taking lessons. I've been a long-time Guitar Center customer and bought all my instruments here. Didn't expect to learn this lesson instead.

Took weeks for…read morethem to respond and I had to follow up daily and then the price they gave was a great deal for them - not me, but I was willing so after hauling the guitars to their store, then it was every little issue with the guitars. the jack has static - 1979 would have that and a simple spray of deoxit but that equated to 500 dollars off their offer. The deal was for them, not me - looking around at their inventory, everything was marked up high so they were going to make double or triple from every guitar in the deal so I decided this was not good for me and called it off. No help getting the guitars in and no help getting the guitars out. And they were stuck on one they wanted to get for dirt cheap. Not a fair offer but lowball. I work in business and know there needs to be a margin, but theirs is around 80% if not 90%. Forget it!! They may have great items but run! You can get a better deal anywhere else with a staff that is not trying to blead you of every dime. Too bad since I proudly wore my Tone Shop Guitar shirt, told everyone about how great they are and the shirt has been tossed. Bottom line - you will get ripped off selling to a store anyway, but the lowball price and then the minor items their skilled staff can easily go through were obstacles and they used that for leverage. Real sleazy practice and a waste of my time! Again - the waste of time was the largest insult of all! Great items and I'm sure the staff is nice, but after this experience I will never buy or recommend this store. This could have been so much better and I'm still very surprised with such a low offer I was willing accept and they wanted to reduce that more for a collection that they would have been making profit hand over fist with the traffic they get.
