Starts at 3:30 which meant a trek into the city during rush hour...meh, wasn't so bad if you know your way around. We arrived and met Vince at the bar (not actually the real Vince but the dude in the videos), nice guy. The buffet was pretty darn good. The pizza which was what I wanted to sample first was very good. The meatballs were outstanding, the Fettucine Alfredo was awesome and cheesy, the Mostaccioli in Genevive sauce, different but also very good. Definitely an old school, in the city Italian joint. All you can eat for $16.99, pretty good deal. We'll be back but maybe for the Tuesday sandwich buffet. read more

Been craving a true Chicago tavern-style pie and Vince's delivered. I had the sausage thin crust and it was on point, crisp, well-cooked, and exactly the kind of neighborhood pizza Chicago does best. I know friends in Clearing have a long history with this place, but this was my initiation, and I loved it. The dining room is comfortable, classic, and the staff is genuinely friendly. A bunch of them have been working here forever, and it shows in the service. Worth noting, Tuesday is half-price pizza, so it's a perfect night to test the waters. This place is a true neighborhood gem. We saw their video on Facebook advertising their buffet and had to come. Ate here on a Thursday for their AYCE pasta buffet and it was amazing. Everything was delicious. Minestrone soup a chock full of veggies and flavor. Tavern style pizza (sausage and pepperoni) were good. Pastas were amazing: Rigatoni in vodka sauce, Bucatini in grandmas neck bone sauce, Mostaciolli genovese, Fettuccine w/ ham & peas alfredo, plus delicious sausage & meatballs in red sauce. There was also homemade Italian bread and focaccia plus cakes and bread pudding. But don't sleep on the cold salads, which were phenomenal and so flavorful: corn salad, potato salad, bean salad and my two favorites, cucumber salad in Italian dressing and eggplant caponata. Honestly next time we're there I might ask if I can buy some eggplant caponata to go! And buffet a reasonable $15.95 plus a drink. Staff were so nice as well. Lovely family neighborhood restaurant. The person that takes your order is VERY BUT VERY RUDE. Puts you on hold for a very long time and when you try to ask a question about their pizza, he makes you feel like you're asking a wrong question and talks back to you. I do not see nothing wrong with asking a question about their pizza, it was a simple question but it bother him that I asked. All I have to say I do not work there it should be normal for a customer to ask a question and more if they don't work there, I never met such a rude person who doesn't care about your order he did not even care to ask for my name for my order and just hang up on me and never had my order ready. At the end of the day I just left to a different place. Just save your money and go somewhere that will actually care about you as a customer. If I can give this 0 stars I would, 1 star is too generous. read more

I've been a customer and fan of Vince's Pizza dating back to the early '70's. My go-to order is a large cheese and sausage--well done. I recently saw that Vince's offers an extra-thin crust and decided to give it a try. I was absolutely blown away at how delicious this pizza was. I ordered extra thin, cheese and sausage, easy cheese. I would put that pizza up against any pizza in Chicago. Thanks for the great pizza and all the wonderful memories over the years. read more

Disappointing experience at the lunch buffet. It's $10/person which is fairly cheap but the selection and quality of food definitely reflects the price. The pizza was decent. Food undercooked. My little meatballs was pink smh ridiculously small not worth your money. My calzon and onion rings was still raw the dough and cheese of my calzon was half cooked really gross the dough was slimy and cheese was cold still, the onion rings wet inside and cold. I really wanted Obbies, but they were closed so I Yelped this spot in my bookmarks.. They were the only pizza spot open around 12pm. The place is actually a lounge/pizzeria/restaurant type of place. Looks old, but sturdy. When I got there they were actually closed until 2pm, the guy was just nice enough to take my order since he was there! 1 Star for Stellar service. Of course I ordered sausage/mushroom extra sauce well done. He said 30mins, but it seemed faster. I used their restroom while waiting & it was clean too. The problem came in when I got the pizza & it was light skin!!!!! I only like Brown cheese!!!!!! The visual alone ruined the pie. It was fresh & hot. Ingredients were plentiful, but the crust wasn't good & the sauce was bland. The sausage was good & there was plenty sauce.. Love the food. I wouldn't consider myself a pizza connoisseur but I've eaten plenty of pizza in my day and Vince's is one of my absolute favorites. I'm a plain cheese kind of a girl. I think if you can make a plain cheese pizza taste delicious then you pass my test and they defiantly didn't disappoint. They have loads of other toppings as well. It's a family business run by two brother and my family has been coming here for years. A very relaxing environment inside. But if you don't feel like eating inside they do have delivery. It's not delivery, it's Vince's! Haha Because sometimes you're too lazy to go to the store, buy the pizza and then have to cook it.
