Managed to make my way over to Nonna's after reading all of the glowing reviews and them not delivering to Oak Park. Picked up a to-go order of -- I'll start from best to worst -- lasagna with a side of meatballs, both of which were tasty, and the meatballs were very tender; comes with a tasty little portion of garlic bread and a plain side salad (iceberg lettuce and three small cut pieces of tomato) that was nothing to write home about. Also had gotten a thin cheese pizza with half-ricotta, which was pretty bland overall, although the ricotta side at least had some sort of taste/flavor. And, lastly, got an Italian beef with mozzarella cheese, which was way too salty, and I usually have no problems when it comes to salt, which is unfortunate cuz it is such a generous size. read more

Although I have 3 options for pizza within a 10 minute walk from me, I'd rather order from Nonno's. Their pizza slices in shop are always hot and fresh. The service is quick and friendly. They keep the shop, eating area and cooking area, very clean. Although it may take them 20 minutes to get the pizza from the shop to me when I decide to have it delivered, my food ALWAYS shows up HOT and the delivery guy is very nice. I stock up on a few giant slices to go. Over 30 years and their recipe and quality hasn't changed. Still the exact same delicious pizza I remember as a child. When I started to develop digestion problems, I got concerned, but three days later I went to the hospital because I was sure there was blood in my stool. He asked if it was to go, but when I said I would like to eat it there, he jerked his head back and rolled his eyes. I understand that they might have been short-staffed, but is that any excuse to treat a polite paying customer like some sort of nuisance? Im not gonna lie but i have had some disappointments being a pizza lover i know what i love and i had a few times of let downs that had me just give up and find myself a new place to order from and i did for a long time but i really missed what i originally fell in love with & tbh the owners are great people so the other night i asked my boyfriend how do you feel about Ordering me a pizza from nonnos? With it being so long since he got me one there. I can honestly say i was not disappointed but being honest flavor was different (cheese wise) it wasn't my original wow but myself i did like the taste plus my daughter loves the wings and cheese sticks. I was told they can make another one but had to wait another 45 min again. Told them I don't like having to wait another 45 min. For my order which should have been done correctly to begin with. Flavorful pizza, no skimping on toppings, and quick service. It's probably my favorite go-to pizza place. The prices have gone up a bit but not nearly as much as my formerly-favorite 'za, DiNico's. As of writing, $3.25 gets you a nice big slice of cheese and $.25 more gets sausage or pepperoni. And they will make other toppings by the slice - just today my friend got bacon added to his cheese pizza for a minimal charge. There is minimal seating - only about 4 or 5 tables seating 3 each, so large groups would be better off getting delivery or carry-out and taking it home.
