I've never eaten in before, only takeout, but had 30 minutes while my car was recharging at the station nearby so I stopped in for a pizza and soda pop. Once I turned down the TV, I was all set and had a really nice visit. The server was great, pizza was perfect. Especially that sauce!! Chill restaurant, very casual. read more

Delicious deep dish! Very tasty and I like how it's not too bready. Tons of cheese and decent portion of sauce. We had it with spinach and onion. Would have loved a little more spinach as it was a little sparse but the flavor overall was great. Small seating area but plenty for a handful of groups. Only one server/cashier working but he was doing really well handling all the orders. Friendly staff. Would go back for sure! read more

The Chicago Bears play late today so I decided to take Bertollis River Jumbo Pizza Thin Crust (Half Jalapeno and Half Cheese) to my Best Friends House. Where do I start.......? If you are looking for great tavern style thin crust pizza look no further. The crust is paper thin and crispy, the sauce has a slight tangy/sweetness to it and the sausage is tasty. We ordered an extra thin crust, well done, cheese sausage and fresh garlic and it was the best! I have to admit Vito and Nicks has been my all time favorite but Bertolli is seriously giving V&N's a run for their money. The dining room is small and very unpretentious, actually just a few tables and a TV mounted on the wall. It seems like most of their business is carry out and delivery. We started our with garlic/parmesan chicken wings which were killers as well. The wings were crispy, cooked to perfection with outstanding flavor. Please give Bertolli in River Forest a try, you wont be disappointed. read more

Great Pizza and wings!! I've only had cheese and pepperoni and they make em perfect. Big juicy wings, I usually like buffalo or a sweet chili but their bbq wings are my favorite here. Just purchase a thin crust pizza from Bertolli's on 11/14/25. The crust was so thin it was almost nothing. I should have known it would be bad when I picked it up and it had no weight. Worse pizza I've had. It's like they ran out of dough. Rip off of a pizza. read more

Food was great and I loved it but when I went to the deli the worker was very rude! She was not being nice and she was making very inappropriate comments and she was waking me and husband quiver from our anger of her inappropriate remarks and just so yall know it's the girl with the blue hair who is a bit overweight. Of all the pizza places in the Oak Park/Forest Park/River Forest area, Bertolli's is our go-to for thin crust/party cut pizza. Delicious, sweet-but-not-too-sweet sauce, nicely-baked cheese, and abundance of toppings. Can't go wrong with pepperoni or the River Deluxe. Delivery can be a long wait. read more

consistently good pizza. We usually come here for thin crust. People get annoyed when you say tavern style, but this is what i think of. Really hitting. Wings are great--we usually do the honey barbecue, and always order enough to eat the next day. Oddly, didn't realize they had stuffed until like a month ago. And it's pretty incredible. Okay we each separately called this place on a Sunday. After reading the comments and reviews on Google we thought we would give it a try. We thought we would dine in then walk off the calories but when we each called separately we both got the impression that we were not welcome and that he was much too busy for us. A pizza place who has been established since 1934 can't handle a party of two people. Interesting. You are much too busy for us. How disappointing. I ended up hanging up the phone cause I just couldn't listen to the egotistical riff raff who answered the phone . The guy had zero class and failed to handle potential new customers. We fined up heading to Chicago's famous Roberts pizza and it did not disappoint! It was super busy as usual but they managed to seat us dockside and we had a perfect view of Navy pier!!!! Unfortunately we cannot recommend this place. I tried giving him a second chance to invite us over and realize his mistake but that never happened. I will NEVER give this establishment any of my business now or in the future!!! You've been warned folks!!!! He's much much too busy for you!!! read more

Honestly, all I have had from here is the pizza. I mean, I just moved to the area so I still have some exploring to do. And I am actually excited to try the rest of their food. But their pizza is quite good. Seriously. I know, I know, this is Chicago. Home of deep dish and the self-proclaimed Mecca of all things pizza related. And that is mostly justified. The deep dish in this city is epic. The regular crust is also spectacular. Hell, even the thin crust cracker crust, Detroit style and Quad City style pizzas here are damn good. You will have a hard time finding better pizza anywhere in the world than Chicago. Now, is Bertolli's the best int he world? No. Sorry guys I love you and all. But we're not there yet. But Bertolli's does a damn good pie. Both thick and thin. The toppings are quality and plentiful. The sauce is so good, really. And the prices are very good. They also sell their pizza by the slice in the deli next door, so get on that too! This is definitely my go-to order spot. read more

Got an extremely burnt pizza late last night. They were closed by the time I got my delivery and had to hound the driver to even get my receipt. They called today, and when I called them back to see if I could return this pizza, they told me to F off and never call there again, and he knows the pizza he made "was beautiful". Here is a photo of the skidmarks of the backside of said "beautiful pizza". I wouldn't even serve this to the immigrants who have come to Oak Park. Shame on them!!!!!! read more

I know this is a local favorite and many people swear by this pizza so take this review with a grain of salt, but I personally think it's awful. The crust is like a cracker, the cheese is gooey and gross, and the sauce is overly sweet like marinara. I do not see the appeal. But nice people and a bustling takeout business as the entire neighborhood loves this place. read more

I've heard so many good things about this place, I decided it was time to check it out. The last time I had pizza from here was in 1974, not long after they had opened up as River Pizza. Always like seeing pizza for takeout/delivery in a paper bag. Lots of sausage, good sauce, fairly crisp crust. It was a little wet in the middle; probably should have blotted it a bit. However, the service is not good. this is the third time we've had food delivered where it has taken 2 hours and food ordered had been missing. this last time waited on hold for over 10 minutes to ask for missing food. apologized & said food would be right there at no charge. only for delivery guy to come 45 minutes later & charge us. unacceptable since we're 1 mile away. even though we love this pizza will think twice before calling again! read more

This is great pizza! Admittedly I passed by this spot multiple times without a glance, but others in the area said it was tasty so we gave it a try! Delicious pizza from a no frills spot was great! This is a local spot, well loved by neighbors, a tad salty (we had a cheese/sausage thin crust), and overall delicious. They can be busy on weekend nights, but pizza is made quickly and pick up is a breeze. Reasonably priced - very good thin pizza (salads are pretty good, too). Outstanding thin crust pizza. My fave is black olive and sausage, with anchovies and pickled jalapeños added at home. I prefer a pie cut to a tavern cut-- if you ask, they will sometimes remember. Not really an eat-in place, but very nice crew. Eggplant parmesan and spinach lasagna are also top notch, very cheesy. read more

I have been meaning to write a review here for some time and keep forgetting too...well forget no more!!!!! Bertolli's is one of the best pies around. Very, very good place. Located in River Forest right off Lake Street. Tons of street parking and a small lot in front. They accept cash and cards. Very good Covid precautions, masks, gloves, lots of hand sanitizer and social distancing enforced. The pizza here is really, really good. Great toppings and the sauce rocks. I'm a big fan of the sausage and the BBQ chicken is spot on. The deep dish and stuffed is good and VERY filling. They also make a really good beef sandwich with and their meatball is second to none. The employees are always friendly and I've never had an issue with an order. Insider tip, this place is very popular and can get busy on weekends. Make sure to give yourself enough time and call ahead. Especially during this times when take out is king, just plan ahead. Good place, good prices, great food. Go get a Za from Bertollis. This is the best Pizza in the River Forest/Oak Park area. There are other good pizza places nearby, especially if you are looking for a night out with friends. But this is the pizza you order after a long day at work, or you need to treat a bunch of friends who just helped you put up your Christmas Tree. Pick-up is usually faster, but delivery can show up quicker than they quoted. You can have your choice of soft drinks or soft serve ice cream added to the order from Frank's deli next door. I was well on my way after verifying that I was picking up an order, and my name. Grateful to have had a smooth online ordering experience because the likelihood of me ordering online again is very high. As for my order, I would be lying if I said the regular crust pizza with spinach was not good because I was very satisfied with the taste of it. I enjoyed each square cut piece, devouring them all very quickly. I am glad that I considered Anthony B's because I would not have had the opportunity to taste the goodness of their pizza. Someone recommended me this place and suggested that I ordered the 8 piece mozzarella sticks. The gentleman behind the bar was pleasant. I placed my to go order and while I waited the gentleman offered me a glass of water while I waited. I came on a Frridau around 7ish and it was pretty busy. Their whole pizza are pretty big that feeds from 3 to 5 people. The menu doesn't seem to have a huge food selections. The mozzarella sticks were delicious. Nice hot temperature, well seasoned and fried to perfection just the way that I liked my food. I will be back to ordered the Mikey's Hot Honey Pizza and a glass of wine from their drink menu.

They were the only place that carried turkey sausage in the crumbles that resembled pork sausage. This time we ordered turkey sausage, with half chicken and half spinach. Imagine my disappointment when I opened this box and the sausage are now pieces cut from a turkey link!!! The turkey now tastes like an afterthought. When they had the turkey crumbles, it was so robust and full of flavor. Unless you brown those sausage pieces they use now, which they weren't, they lack flavor. I was very disappointed in this revelation as my friend had Beggars this past December and said it still had the turkey crumbles so this decision was made in the last year. Can you please bring the crumbles back? I will come back and update this review if you do
