I lived in Chicago from 2008-2016. I absolutely loved Beggars. That says something in a sea full pizzeria's. I always got the turkey sausage and spinach. They were the only place that carried turkey sausage in the crumbles that resembled pork sausage. This time we ordered turkey sausage, with half chicken and half spinach. Imagine my disappointment when I opened this box and the sausage are now pieces cut from a turkey link!!! The turkey now tastes like an afterthought. When they had the turkey crumbles, it was so robust and full of flavor. Unless you brown those sausage pieces they use now, which they weren't, they lack flavor. I was very disappointed in this revelation as my friend had Beggars this past December and said it still had the turkey crumbles so this decision was made in the last year. I admit that I am no stranger when it comes to Beggars Pizza; I have tasted their pizza on occasions after it was ordered by our hospital staff. And during those times, I enjoyed it and vowed to order it outside of my work shift since I enjoyed it so much. While looking at their menu online, I discovered their ever so delicious looking deep-dish chocolate chip cookie, which is a 7-inch-deep dish chocolate chip cookie that is baked! Yum! It will certainly be something I look forward to trying in the future, for sure! I ordered a small thin crust pizza with pineapple via call-in since the order online option was for preorder only for the next day. Ordering via call-in was very convenient because by the time I arrived at Beggars, the only thing I did was state my name and confirm my order with the employee at the counter. Beggars itself sits along a highly trafficked W Roosevelt Rd, right across from Edward Hines, Jr. Veteran Affairs Hospital. And the parking lot itself is shared with a few other businesses, like Cricket, Lacey's Place, and a Chicken Factory location. As for the food, I want to point out that the thin crust pizza with pineapples looked freaking delicious! The pineapples were infused in with a thick layer of cheese, with some pineapple pieces visible. And it tasted very good as I expected. Being that I had a great experience, I will gladly order from Beggars Pizza again if I get the slightest crave for pizza or pasta when in the area. We ordered a medium pizza with Pepperoni, Turkey Sausage, Green Peppers and Spinach. To our appreciation the veggies still had their fresh crunch and the toppings were spread well so everything cooked well. With all the toppings adds, it came out to about $30 for pickup. If you go to Chicago, you have to order a Chicago-style deep dish pizza. Beggars Pizza provided us with what we were craving - oozy, cheesy goodness. I was a little skeptical getting this delivered to us at our hotel but it came to us hot and fresh from our friendly Door Dash delivery driver. I was amazed by how hefty this pizza was. We ordered a medium for two adults and two kids and there was enough to make two meals. We had about a 1/4 of the pizza leftover and I kid you not, it still weighed like 4 lbs. Went to Beggars last week, had the half meat trio, half bacon and pepperoni pizza. Along with bbq and buffalo wings with cheese garlic bread. Overall the customer service was average (to be clear the cashier was nice, the experience was just very regular). I LOVE Beggar's Pizza! They made the best decision when they opened on on Roosevelt Rd in Maywood down the street from my childhood home! I try to be health conscious about some things and not order whole pizzas just for me, but luckily they offer slices like most places in the Chi, so I can always get an affordable and portioned control Chicago pizza fix! Chicago I realize is a sausage city, so you can go in any pizza place in the Chi and get a slice of sausage pizza. It wasn't until I moved away was when I first had pepperoni pizza and I was the first to ask, hey where is the sausage?!! And it's all about ITALIAN sausage in. The Chi, none of these crazy sausage options where you have to specify in other areas. Who the heck wants breakfast sausage on their pizza! It's Italian only damn it! Beggars has a great sauce, a great pizza crust and the deep dish is on a per slice basis availability too for all you visitors who never had Chicago deep dish! In these crazy times of (COVID-19), establishments are really stepping up to keep their business afloat. We are considered essential workers in the financial industry so we're in the office everyday from morning to night. Do we eat out delivery or pickup everyday 7 days per week. I'm tired of tacos!!! Usually, we order Giordano's or Homerun Inn for pizza because my business partners aren't use to Beggars. I decided to order so they could try Beggars, I've been eating Beggars's for 20 years but haven't had this location in Bellwood. Decided to go pick it up myself to save 45mins for delivery. Because we are practicing social distancing, we had to stay in our cars. They brought the pizza to my car hot n ready with a smile. Their process was very efficient and I didn't feel like I was exposed. My business partners LOVED this pizza so much we ordered another one the following week. After moving from the south suburbs a few years ago we thought Beggars was out of our life for good. But we found and love this Beggars! So far we have been here 5 times and haven't been disappointed. It's only takeout, which is fine, and the pizza is always ready on time and still hot when we drive home whether it is deep dish or thin crust. We usually get the bacon, sausage and mushroom for the deep dish and the flavors are great! They also give you coupons with each purchase. Although I wish you could apply the coupon when you order online because sometimes I forget to bring it when I pick up the pizza. LOL. We'll definitely be back again and again! read more

The only thing I have a problem with is that it has so much ingredients that i think it releases a lot of the juices of the meat and other ingredients that it makes the pie to stick to the carton not the box so today we were fighting with the carton and to tell you the truth the slices were tasting like cardboard. I'm an idiot for paying $17 for a personal sized pizza but I was feigning it . It was hot and ready when so picked it up. I did have to ask for a bag and cheese and peppers.
