I have spent the morning trying to obtain a reservation for tonight. I have spoken with David at…read morethe Oakbrook Terrace location and with "Felicia" at the Willowbrook location. Both of those hosts could not seem to accommodate my request, even though I explained that we were in from out of town and hoped to expose our friends to our favorite pizza. "David" said that there were no reservations available but that we could try being walk-ins. I didn't want my friends to have to go through that, especially in Oakbrook on a Friday night, so I asked to be connected to the Willowbrook store. He said that he was not able to do that. I thank him for his help?? And went back to the Internet to get the phone number for the Willowbrook store. There, I was connected with Felicia, who listen to my request, but explained that she is not allowed to accept reservations for five people at 6 PM. I explained the situation, telling her that I was hosting some new people and hope to have the best possible experience, but she refused to take the reservation. I think it was at this time that she started calling me "my dear." Perhaps that is some type of new Giordanos protocol, but I'm hoping that it will be re-thought, because it surely didn't land well with me! Anyhow, I explained how we had appreciated the pre-order ability in the past, and again reiterated that I was trying to make a seamless experience for our friends. She told me that the store could accept a pre-order at the discretion of whoever answers the phone, I guess. (That didn't make any sense to me, but I just filed that information, figuring that I could revisit that policy later.) After several more "my dears", we ended the conversation and I can promise that we won't ever go to that location. Next, I called the familiar Westchester store, and was put in contact with an extremely polite, friendly, hostess, who accomplished the reservation with absolutely no problem. Our phone connection was horrible, but she persevered and was 100% delightful. I thought it was strange that "Felicia" did not recommend the Westchester store when I asked for close by Giordanos... AFTER telling her that we were staying in Lagrange. She recommended that we call the Naperville location...?? I can assure you that the Westchester store will be the only one that we will patronize in the future. We have been there many times, and look forward to seeing those nice people much more in the future! We have always had great food there and exemplary service; I was only going to switch to a different location because of logistical reasons that have nothing to do with their food, their service or their ambience.

Q's has had my interest since discovering it sometime ago while in search of "pizza". At the time of my discovery, its 4.6 rating out of (120+) was the assurance I needed that I would have a quality experience, plus an endorsement from my barber. Looking through the menu, I took interest in items like the baked tilapia, eggplant sandwich, eggplant parmigiana, shrimp alfredo, pasta with broccoli sauce, and their pizza of course! Out of all, I ended up ordering their eggplant sandwich, which came with a side of crinkle cut fries. Whether it be Grubhub or Uber Eats, I love ordering online because it is convenient. Most of the time my orders are completed upon my arrival or near complete. By the time I arrived at Q's Restaurant & Pizzeria my order was waiting behind the counter during this ordering experience. Picking up was just confirming my name, ordering platform, and I was well on my way. I am grateful to have had a smooth online ordering experience because the likelihood of me ordering online again at the location is very high. As for my order, the eggplant sandwich smelled so wonderful once I got inside my vehicle and got my first whiff of it. It was then that I realized I had a 12.7-mile drive back to my residence in Chicago. If there was any time I would have loved for someone to take the wheel of my vehicle, it would have been that moment so that I could enjoy my eggplant sandwich. I was pleased to see the generous portions given of the eggplant sandwich and crinkle cut fries once I opened the styrofoam container. Oh my was it delicious! I will say this! Eggplant sandwiches taste better than the name appears if you have not had one before. I am quite positive that I will order it again as time goes by because it sure was satisfying. So satisfying and filling that I did not have any room for the crinkle cut fries, which I barely touched and ended up eating the following day. If you are looking for something to order on the menu at Q's Restaurant & Pizzeria, I recommend the eggplant sandwich because you will not be let down. In closing I had a good experience as I have indicated in this review of Q's Restaurant & Pizzeria. I could surely see myself ordering from again off-and-on when I am in the area likely for a haircut. And as it was introduced to me via Uber Eats, I share my endorsement of it as well with you all on yelp. Smells amazing the whole time. Staff was great. Sean helped us out and gave some solid recommendations. We went with the pepperonly pizza. When it hit the table, the presentation looked amazing. First bite... that was it. The crust had that perfect crunch on the outside but still soft inside. You could taste that wood-fired char, just enough to give it that smoky edge. The cheese was melted just right, stretchy and hot. The sauce had a nice balance, a little tangy, a little sweet, not overpowering anything. The pepperoni was the best part. Crispy on the edges, a little oily in a good way, and full of flavor. Every bite just worked. Thin, balanced, nothing too heavy. If you like pizza, this is one of those spots you gotta try. I'd go back for that one easy.

Everything came out fresh, flavorful, and we enjoyed what we ordered. The Buzzkill pizza was delicious, and the appetizer platter was a great option for the table. Unfortunately, the service really took away from the experience. It took about 10 minutes before anyone came over to seat us, another 10-15 minutes before someone took our order, and when our Snap Into It salad arrived (for a party of three), it only came with two pieces of bread, so we had to ask for a third. At the end of the meal, we waited around 20 minutes just to get our check. The surprising part was that the restaurant wasn't busy at all, so the slow service was hard to understand. The food was definitely the highlight, but because of the overall service experience, I don't think I'd return.

I must say that I was surprised to see so many Italian items on the menu at Chickies because I always pictured it as a burger restaurant. I ended up ordering their Eggplant Parmigiana with Mozzarella & Red Sauce because it was the one thing my taste buds desired at the time--other than a slice of pizza, which I can honestly eat every day and not get bored of. I love ordering online for the convenience and the ability to schedule a pickup time. Most of the time, my orders are ready--or nearly ready--upon arrival. By the time I reached the restaurant, my order was being finished behind the counter. "Mmmm... That is good!" was my first response after taking a sip of the cherry milkshake, which tasted exactly as it sounds. I had quite a few sips before even driving out of the parking lot at Chickies. It was so good that my mouth watered between sips, and I failed to take any pictures of it--which you will have to forgive me for. I was very pleased with the size of the Eggplant Parmigiana with Mozzarella & Red Sauce. It was beautifully presented and tasted delicious! Each bite offered a perfect blend of savory eggplant and rich red sauce, so I wasted no time finishing it. The cheeseburger was okay, but the patty was smaller than expected and could have used a bit more seasoning to really stand out. It wasn't bad, just a little underwhelming compared to other spots. The loaded fries were a highlight--topped with cheese, Italian beef, and fresh jalapeños. They were flavorful and absolutely massive, easily a meal on their own. We also had the breaded steak sandwich, which was decent but could have used some jalapeños for extra flavor. Portion-wise, it was very generous and easily enough for two people to share. The chicken fingers were just okay--good size, but again, a bit more seasoning would have helped. The mushrooms were solid, and the onion rings were better than most--big and crispy--but there were quite a few broken pieces. We also tried the famous cannoli shake, which tasted exactly like you'd expect--a cannoli in liquid form. If you like cannolis, you'll probably enjoy it. Overall, not a bad spot with generous portions and friendly service, but some items--especially the burgers--could use a bit more flavor and a larger patty to really stand out.

It seemed like one of those mom and pop hole-in-the-wall spots that usually have the best food! I usually do not care about bad customer service, but this was something else. The cashier was too busy hanging out with his friends all behind the counter to acknowledge me properly. No greeting, no welcome--just a flat "What can I get you?" Meanwhile, his friends got better treatment like they were VIPs. I decided to try the meatball sandwich, which turned out to be a joke. It came with two mediocre-sized meatballs on a dry roll that tasted like it was leftover from the day before--tough, crumbly, and hard to bite into. Honestly, I've had better sandwiches at gas stations. The side salad was barely that. Just the woody core of iceberg lettuce with two sad cucumber slices and a cherry tomato thrown in. They did give me a full container of ranch, which was overkill for the salad--but I ended up using it on the slice of sausage pizza I got, so that worked out. Speaking of the pizza--it was okay. Not terrible, but not memorable either. Then again, can you really mess up pizza? All in all, I won't be going back unless it's to give them a second chance to make that sandwich edible.
